2The peopleהָעָם֙ha.'AmH5971who walkהַהֹלְכִ֣יםha.ho.le.KhimH1980in darknessבַּחֹ֔שֶׁךְba.Cho.shekhH2822Will seeרָא֖וּra.'UH7200a greatגָּד֑וֹלga.DolH1419lightא֣וֹר'orH216;Those who liveיֹשְׁבֵי֙yo.she.VeiH3427in a darkצַלְמָ֔וֶתtzal.Ma.vetH6757landבְּאֶ֣רֶץbe.'E.retzH776,The lightא֖וֹר'orH216will shineנָגַ֥הּna.GahH5050on them.

3You shall multiplyהִרְבִּ֣יתָhir.Bi.taH7235the nationהַגּ֔וֹיha.GoyH1471, You shallincreaseהִגְדַּ֣לְתָּhig.Dal.taH1431their gladnessהַשִּׂמְחָ֑הha.sim.ChahH8057;They will be gladשָׂמְח֤וּsa.me.ChuH8055in Your presenceלְפָנֶ֙יךָ֙le.fa.Nei.khaH6440As with the gladnessכְּשִׂמְחַ֣תke.sim.ChatH8057of harvestבַּקָּצִ֔ירba.ka.TzirH7105, Asmen rejoiceיָגִ֖ילוּya.Gi.luH1523when they divideבְּחַלְּקָ֥םbe.cha.le.KamH2505the spoilשָׁלָֽל׃sha.LalH7998.

5For everyכָל־khol-H3605bootסְאוֹן֙se.'OnH5430of the bootedH5431warriorH5431in the battletumultבְּרַ֔עַשׁbe.Ra.'ashH7494,And cloakוְשִׂמְלָ֖הve.sim.LahH8071rolledמְגוֹלָלָ֣הme.go.la.LahH1556in bloodבְדָמִ֑יםve.da.MimH1818,will be for burningלִשְׂרֵפָ֖הlis.re.FahH8316,fuelמַאֲכֹ֥לֶתma.'a.Kho.letH3980for the fireאֵֽשׁ׃'EshH784.

6For achildיֶ֣לֶדYe.ledH3206will be bornיֻלַּד־yu.lad-H3205to us, asonבֵּ֚ןbenH1121will be givenנִתַּן־ni.tan-H5414to us; And thegovernmentH4951willrestוַתְּהִ֥יva.te.HiH1961on His shouldersשִׁכְמ֑וֹshikh.MoH7926;And His nameשְׁמ֜וֹshe.MoH8034will be calledוַיִּקְרָ֨אvai.yik.Ra'H7121Wonderfulפֶּ֠לֶאPe.le'H6382Counselorיוֹעֵץ֙yo.'EtzH3289,Mightyגִּבּ֔וֹרgi.BorH1368Godאֵ֣ל'elH410,Eternalאֲבִיעַ֖ד'a.vi.'AdH5703Fatherאֲבִיעַ֖ד'a.vi.'AdH1,Princeשַׂר־sar-H8269ofPeaceH7965.

7ThereH369will benoH369endקֵ֗ץKetzH7093to the increaseלְמַרְבֵּ֨הle.mar.behH4766of Hisgovernmentהַמִּשְׂרָ֜הha.mis.RahH4951or of peaceוּלְשָׁל֣וֹםu.le.sha.LomH7965, On thethroneכִּסֵּ֤אki.Se'H3678of Davidדָוִד֙da.VidH1732and overH5921his kingdomמַמְלַכְתּ֔וֹmam.lakh.ToH4467,To establishלְהָכִ֤יןle.ha.KhinH3559it and to upholdוּֽלְסַעֲדָ֔הּu.le.sa.'a.DahH5582it withjusticeבְּמִשְׁפָּ֖טbe.mish.PatH4941and righteousnessוּבִצְדָקָ֑הu.vitz.da.KahH6666From thenמֵעַתָּה֙me.'a.TahH6258on and forevermoreעוֹלָ֔םo.LamH5703 H5769.The zealקִנְאַ֛תkin.'AtH7068of the Lordיְהוָ֥הYah.wehH3068of hostsצְבָא֖וֹתtze.va.'otH6635will accomplishתַּעֲשֶׂה־ta.'a.seh-H6213thisH2088.

9And allכֻּלּ֔וֹku.LoH3605the peopleהָעָ֣םha.'AmH5971knowוְיָדְעוּ֙ve.ya.de.'UH3045it, That is,Ephraimאֶפְרַ֖יִם'ef.Ra.yimH669and the inhabitantsוְיוֹשֵׁ֣בve.yo.ShevH3427of Samariaשֹׁמְר֑וֹןsho.me.RonH8111,Assertingלֵאמֹֽר׃le.MorH559in prideבְּגַאֲוָ֛הbe.ga.'a.VahH1346and inarroganceוּבְגֹ֥דֶלu.ve.Go.delH1433of heartלֵבָ֖בle.VavH3824:

10“The bricksלְבֵנִ֥יםle.ve.NimH3843have fallenH5307downH5307, But we willrebuildנִבְנֶ֑הniv.NehH1129with smoothH1496stonesוְגָזִ֣יתve.ga.ZitH1496;The sycamoresשִׁקְמִ֣יםshik.MimH8256have been cutגֻּדָּ֔עוּgu.Da.'uH1438downH1438,But we will replaceנַחֲלִֽיף׃na.cha.LifH2498themwith cedarsוַאֲרָזִ֖יםva.'a.ra.ZimH730.”

11Therefore the Lordיְהוָ֛הYah.wehH3068raisesוַיְשַׂגֵּ֧בvay.sa.GevH7682againstעָלָ֑יו'a.LavH5921them adversariesצָרֵ֥יtza.ReiH6862fromRezinרְצִ֖יןre.TzinH7526And spursיְסַכְסֵֽךְ׃ye.sakh.SekhH5526their enemiesH340on,

12The Arameansאֲרָ֣ם'a.RamH758on the eastמִקֶּ֗דֶםmi.Ke.demH6924and thePhilistinesוּפְלִשְׁתִּים֙u.fe.lish.TimH6430on the westמֵֽאָח֔וֹרme.'a.ChorH268; And theydevourוַיֹּאכְל֥וּvai.yo.khe.LuH398Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֖לYis.ra.'ElH3478withgapingבְּכָל־be.kholH3605jawsפֶּ֑הPehH6310. In spite ofallבְּכָל־be.kholH3605thisH2088,His angerאַפּ֔וֹ'a.PoH639does not turnשָׁ֖בshavH7725awayשָׁ֣בshavH7725And His handיָד֥וֹya.DoH3027is stillוְע֖וֹדve.'odH5750stretchedנְטוּיָֽה׃ne.tu.YahH5186out.

13Yet the peopleוְהָעָ֥םve.ha.'AmH5971do not turnH7725backשָׁ֖בshavH7725to Him who struckהַמַּכֵּ֑הוּha.ma.Ke.huH5221them,NorH3808do theyseekדָרָֽשׁוּ׃ סda.Ra.shuH1875the LordH3068of hostsצְבָא֖וֹתtze.va.'otH6635.

14So the Lordיְהוָ֜הYah.wehH3068cutsוַיַּכְרֵ֨תvai.yakh.RetH3772offH3772headH7218and tailH2180from Israelמִיִּשְׂרָאֵ֗לmi.Yis.ra.'ElH3478, Bothpalmכִּפָּ֥הki.PahH3712branchH3712and bulrushוְאַגְמ֖וֹןve.'ag.MonH100in a singleאֶחָֽד׃'e.ChadH259dayי֥וֹםYomH3117.

15The headהָרֹ֑אשׁha.RoshH7218isthe elderזָקֵ֥ןza.KenH2205and honorableוּנְשׂוּא־ פָנִ֖יםu.ne.su'- fa.NimH6440 H5375man,And the prophetוְנָבִ֥יאve.na.Vi'H5030who teachesמֽוֹרֶה־mo.reh-H3384falsehoodשֶּׁ֖קֶרShe.kerH8267is the tailהַזָּנָֽב׃ha.za.NavH2180.

16For those who guideמְאַשְּׁרֵ֥יme.'a.she.ReiH833thisהַזֶּ֖הha.ZehH2088peopleהָֽעָם־ha.'om-H5971are leadingH8582themastrayH8582;And those who are guidedוּמְאֻשָּׁרָ֖יוu.me.'u.sha.RavH833by them arebroughtH1104to confusionH1104.

17Thereforeכֵּ֨ןkenH5921 H3651the Lordאֲדֹנָ֗י'a.do.NaiH136doesnot takeH8055pleasureH8055in their youngבַּחוּרָ֜יוba.chu.RavH970menH970,NorH3808does He haveH7355pityH7355on theirorphansיְתֹמָ֤יוye.to.MavH3490or their widowsאַלְמְנֹתָיו֙'al.me.no.TavH490;For everyH3605oneH3605of them isgodlessחָנֵ֣ףcha.NefH2611and anevildoerוּמֵרַ֔עu.me.Ra'H7489,And everyH3605mouthפֶּ֖הpehH6310is speakingדֹּבֵ֣רdo.VerH1696foolishnessנְבָלָ֑הne.va.LahH5039. 18For wickednessרִשְׁעָ֔הrish.'AhH7564burnsבָעֲרָ֤הva.'a.RahH1197like a fireH784;It consumesתֹּאכֵ֑לto.KhelH398briarsשָׁמִ֥ירsha.MirH8068and thornsוָשַׁ֖יִתva.Sha.yitH7898;It even setsH3341the thicketsבְּסִֽבְכֵ֣יbe.siv.KheiH5442of the forestהַיַּ֔עַרhai.Ya.'arH3293aflameH3341And they rollH55upwardH55in a columnגֵּא֥וּתge.'UtH1348of smokeעָשָֽׁן׃'a.ShanH6227.

19By thefuryבְּעֶבְרַ֛תbe.'ev.RatH5678of the Lordיְהוָ֥הYah.wehH3068of hostsצְבָא֖וֹתtze.va.'otH6635thelandאָ֑רֶץ'A.retzH776is burnedנֶעְתַּ֣םne'.TamH6272up, And thepeopleהָעָם֙ha.'AmH5971are like fuelכְּמַאֲכֹ֣לֶתke.ma.'a.Kho.letH3980for the fireאֵ֔שׁ'EshH784;NoH3808manH376sparesיַחְמֹֽלוּ׃yach.Mo.luH2550his brotherאָחִ֖יו'a.ChivH251.
