Isaiah 1:2-27
21ListenH8085, O heavensH8064, and hearH238, O 2earthH776; For the LordH3068 speaksH1696, “3SonsH1121 I have rearedH1431 and broughtH7311 up, But they have 4revoltedH6586 against Me.3An oxH7794 knowsH3045 its ownerH7069, And a donkeyH2543 its master’sH1167 mangerH18, But IsraelH3478 5does not knowH3045, My peopleH5971 6do not understandH995.”
4AlasH1945, sinfulH2398 nationH1471, PeopleH5971 weighedH3515 downH3515 with iniquityH5771, 78OffspringH2233 of evildoersH7489, SonsH1121 who 9actH7843 corruptlyH7843! They have 10abandonedH5800 the LordH3068, They have 11despisedH5006 the HolyH6918 OneH6918 of IsraelH3478, They have turnedH2114 awayH2114 12from Him.
5WhereH5921H4100 will you be strickenH5221 againH5750, As you 13continueH3254 in your rebellionH5627? The wholeH3605 headH7218 is 14sickH2483 And the wholeH3605 heartH3824 is faintH1742.615From the soleH3709 of the footH7272 even to the headH7218 ThereH369 is 16nothingH369 soundH4974 in it, Only bruisesH6482, weltsH2250 and rawH2961 woundsH4347, 17Not pressedH2115 out or bandagedH2280, NorH3808 softenedH7401 with oilH8081.
7Your 18landH776 is desolateH8077, Your citiesH5892 are burnedH8313 with fireH784, Your fieldsH127--strangersH2114 are devouringH398 them in your presenceH5048; It is desolationH8077, as overthrownH4114 by strangersH2114.8The daughterH1323 of ZionH6726 is leftH3498 like a shelterH5521 in a vineyardH3754, Like a watchman’sH4412 hutH4412 in a cucumberH4750 fieldH4750, like a besiegedH5341 cityH5892.919UnlessH3884 the LordH3068 of hostsH6635 Had leftH3498 us a fewH4592 20survivorsH8300, We would be like 21SodomH5467, We would be likeH1819 GomorrahH6017.
10HearH8085 22the wordH1697 of the LordH3068, You rulersH7101 of 23SodomH5467; GiveH238 earH238 to the instructionH8451 of our GodH430, You peopleH5971 of GomorrahH6017.11“24WhatH4100 are your multipliedH7230 sacrificesH2077 to Me?” SaysH559 the LordH3068. “I 25have hadH7646 enoughH7646 of burntH5930 offeringsH5930 of ramsH352 And the fatH2459 of fedH4806 cattleH4806; And I takeH2654 noH3808 pleasureH2654 in the bloodH1818 of bullsH6499, lambsH3532 or goatsH6260.12WhenH3588 you comeH935 26to appearH7200 beforeH6440 Me, WhoH4310 requiresH1245 27of you thisH2088 tramplingH7429 of My courtsH2691?13BringH935 your worthlessH7723 offeringsH4503 noH3808 longerH3254, 28IncenseH7004 is an abominationH8441 to Me. 29NewH2320 moonH2320 and sabbathH7676, the 30callingH7121 of assembliesH4744-- I cannotH3201H3808 31endureH3201 iniquityH205 and the solemnH6116 assemblyH6116.14I hateH8130 your newH2320 moonH2320 festivals and your 32appointedH4150 feastsH4150, They have becomeH1961 a burdenH2960 to Me; I am 33wearyH3811 of bearingH5375 them.15So when you 34spreadH6566 out your handsH3709 in prayer, 35I will hideH5956 My eyesH5869 from you; YesH1571, evenH1571 thoughH3588 you 36multiplyH7235 prayersH8605, I will not listenH8085. 37Your handsH3027 are 38coveredH4390 with bloodH1818.
16“39WashH7364 yourselves, 40makeH2135 yourselves cleanH2135; 41RemoveH5493 the evilH7455 of your deedsH4611 from My sightH5048H5869. 42CeaseH2308 to do evilH7489,17LearnH3925 to doH3190 goodH3190; 43SeekH1875 justiceH4941, ReproveH833 the ruthlessH2541, 4445DefendH8199 the orphanH3490, PleadH7378 for the widowH490.
18“ComeH1980 nowH4994, and 46let us reasonH3198 together,” SaysH559 the LordH3068, “47ThoughH518 your sinsH2399 are as scarletH8144, They will be as whiteH3835 as snowH7950; ThoughH518 they are redH119 like crimsonH8438, They will be like woolH6785.1948IfH518 you consentH14 and obeyH8085, You will 49eatH398 the bestH2898 of the landH776;20But ifH518 you refuseH3985 and rebelH4784, You will be 50devouredH398 by the swordH2719.” TrulyH3588, 51the mouthH6310 of the LordH3068 has spokenH1696.
21HowH351 the faithfulH539 cityH7151 has becomeH1961 a 52harlotH2181, She who was fullH4392 of justiceH4941! RighteousnessH6664 once lodgedH3885 in her, But nowH6258 murderersH7523.22Your silverH3701 has becomeH1961 drossH5509, Your drinkH5435 dilutedH4107 with waterH4325.23Your 53rulersH8269 are rebelsH5637 And companionsH2270 of thievesH1590; EveryoneH3605 54lovesH157 a bribeH7810 And chasesH7291 after rewardsH8021. They 55do not 56defendH8199 the 57orphanH3490, NorH3808 does the widow’sH490 pleaH7379 comeH935 beforeH413 them.
24ThereforeH3651 the LordH136 58GodH3068 of hostsH6635, The 59MightyH46 OneH46 of IsraelH3478, declaresH5002, “AhH1945, I will be relievedH5162 of My adversariesH6862 And 60avengeH5358 Myself on My foesH340.25I will also turnH7725 My handH3027 againstH5921 you, And will 61smeltH6884 away your drossH5509 as with lyeH1253 And will removeH5493 allH3605 your alloyH913.26Then I will restoreH7725 your 62judgesH8199 as at the firstH7223, And your counselorsH3289 as at the beginningH8462; AfterH310 that you will be calledH7121 the 63cityH5892 of righteousnessH6664, A faithfulH539 cityH7151.”
27ZionH6726 will be 64redeemedH6299 with justiceH4941 And her 65repentantH7725 ones with righteousnessH6666.
