Isaiah 35

Zion’s Happy Future

1The 1wilderness and the desert will be glad, And the 23Arabah will rejoice and blossom; Like the crocus2It will 4blossom profusely And 5rejoice with rejoicing and shout of joy. The 6glory of Lebanon will be given to it, The majesty of 7Carmel and Sharon. They will see the 8glory of the Lord, The majesty of our God.39Encourage the 10exhausted, and strengthen the 11feeble.4Say to those with 12anxious heart, “Take courage, fear not. Behold, your God will come with 13vengeance; The 14recompense of God will come, But He will 15save you.”5Then the 16eyes of the blind will be opened And the ears of the deaf will be unstopped.6Then the 17lame will leap like a deer, And the 18tongue of the mute will shout for joy. For waters will break forth in the 19wilderness And streams in the 20Arabah.7The 21scorched land will become a pool And the thirsty ground 22springs of water; In the 23haunt of jackals, its resting place, Grass becomes reeds and rushes.824A highway will be there, 25a roadway, And it will be called the Highway of 26Holiness. The unclean will not travel on it, But it will be for him who walks that way, And 27fools will not wander on it.9No 28lion will be there, Nor will any vicious beast go up on it; 29These will not be found there. But 30the redeemed will walk there,10And 31the ransomed of the Lord will return And come with joyful shouting to Zion, With everlasting joy upon their heads. They will 32find gladness and joy, And 33sorrow and sighing will flee away.
