Context of Genesis 19:24
22Hurry, escape there, for I cannot do anything until you arrive there.” Therefore the name of the town was called Zoar. 23The sun had risen over the earth when Lot came to Zoar. Then the Lord rained on Sodom and Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the Lord out of heaven, 25and He overthrew those cities, and all the valley, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and what grew on the ground. 26But his wife, from behind him, looked back, and she became a pillar of salt.

- Adam Clarke Bible Commentary · v. 24The Lord rained - brimstone and fire from the Lord - As all judgment is committed to the Son of God, many of the primitive fathers and several modern divines have supposed that the words ויהוה vaihovah and יהוה מאת meeth Yehovah imply, Jehovah the Son raining brimstone and fire from Jehovah the Father; and that this place affords no mean proof of the proper Divinity of our blessed Redeemer. It may be so; but though the point is sufficiently established…Read the comment

The raining down of fire and brimstone from heaven is perfectly accordant with this idea since those very substances, being…Read the comment
