17NowδὲdeG1161on the firstπρώτῃprōtēG4413day ofUnleavenedἀζύμωνazumōnG106Bread the disciplesμαθηταὶmathētaiG3101cameπροσῆλθονprosēlthonG4334to JesusἸησοῦIēsouG2424and askedλέγοντεςlegontesG3004, “WhereποῦpouG4226do You wantθέλειςtheleisG2309us to prepareἑτοιμάσωμένhetoimasōmenG2090for You to eatG2068the Passoverπάσχα;¶paschaG3957?”

18And He saidλέγει·legeiG3004,“GoὑπάγετεhupageteG5217into the cityπόλινpolinG4172toa certainG1170manG1170,and sayG3004to him, ‘The TeacherδιδάσκαλοςdidaskalosG1320saysG3004, “My timeκαιρόςkairosG2540is nearἐγγύςengusG1451; I am tokeepποιῶpoiōG4160the PassoverπάσχαpaschaG3957at your house with My disciplesμαθητῶνmathētōnG3101.”’”

19The disciplesμαθηταὶmathētaiG3101didἐποίησανepoiēsanG4160as JesusἸησοῦς,IēsousG2424had directedσυνέταξενsunetaxenG4929them; and they preparedἡτοίμασανhētoimasanG2090the Passoverπάσχα.¶paschaG3957.

20NowδὲdeG1161when eveningὈψίαςOpsiasG3798cameγενομένηςgenomenēsG1096,Jesus was recliningἀνέκειτοanekeitoG345at the tablewith the twelveδώδεκαdōdekaG1427disciplesG3101.

21As they were eatingἐσθιόντωνesthiontōnG2068,He saidλέγωlegōG3004, “TrulyἀμὴνamēnG281I sayG3004to you that oneεἷςheisG1520of you will betrayπαραδώσειparadōseiG3860Me.”

22Being deeplyσφόδραsphodraG4970grievedλυπούμενοιlupoumenoiG3076, theyeachἕκαστοςhekastosG1538oneεἷςheisG1520beganἤρξαντοērxantoG757to sayλέγεινlegeinG3004to Him, “SurelyμήτιmētiG3385not I, Lordκύριε;¶kurieG2962?”

23And He answeredἀποκριθεὶςapokritheisG611, “He who dippedἐμβάψαςembapsasG1686his handχεῖραcheiraG5495with Me in the bowlτρυβλίῳ,trubliōG5165is the oneοὗτόςhoutosG3778who will betrayπαραδώσει.paradōseiG3860Me.

24The SonυἱὸςhuiosG5207of ManἀνθρώπουanthrōpouG444is togoὑπάγειhupageiG5217,justκαθὼςkathōsG2531as it is writtenγέγραπταιgegraptaiG1125of Him; but woeοὐαὶouaiG3759to that manἀνθρώπῳanthrōpōG444by whomοὗhouG3739the SonυἱὸςhuiosG5207of ManἀνθρώπουanthrōpouG444is betrayedπαραδίδοται·paradidotaiG3860!It would have beenἦνēnG1510goodκαλὸνkalonG2570for that manἄνθρωποςanthrōposG444ifεἰeiG1487he had not been bornἐγεννήθηegennēthēG1080.”

25AndJudasἸούδαςIoudasG2455,who was betrayingπαραδιδοὺςparadidousG3860Him, saidλέγειlegeiG3004, “SurelyμήτιmētiG3385it is not I,Rabbiῥαββί;rhabbiG4461?”Jesus saidG3004to him, “You have saidG3004ityourselfσὺsuG4771.”

26While they were eatingἘσθιόντωνEsthiontōnG2068,JesusἸησοῦςIēsousG2424tookλαβὼνlabōnG2983somebreadἄρτονartonG740, andafter a blessingεὐλογήσαςeulogēsasG2127,He brokeἔκλασεν,eklasenG2806itand gaveδοὺςdousG1325itto the disciplesμαθηταῖςmathētaisG3101,and saidG3004,“TakeλάβετεlabeteG2983,eatG2068;thisτοῦτόtoutoG3778is My bodyσῶμάsōmaG4983.”

27And when He had takenλαβὼνlabōnG2983a cupποτήριονpotērionG4221and givenG1325thanksεὐχαριστήσαςeucharistēsasG2168,He gaveG1325itto them, sayingλέγων·legōnG3004,“DrinkπίετεpieteG4095from it, allπάντες·pantesG3956of you;

28forthisτοῦτοtoutoG3778is My bloodαἷμάhaimaG129of the covenantδιαθήκηςdiathēkēsG1242,which is pouredἐκχυννόμενονekchunnomenonG1632out formanyπολλῶνpollōnG4183for forgivenessἄφεσινaphesinG859of sinsἁμαρτιῶν.hamartiōnG266.

29But I sayλέγωlegōG3004to you, I will not drinkπίωpiōG4095of thisτούτουtoutouG3778fruitG1079of the vineἀμπέλουampelouG288from nowἄρτιartiG737on untilἕωςhe'ōsG2193that dayἡμέραςhēmerasG2250whenὅτανhotanG3752I drinkπίνωpinōG4095it newκαινὸνkainonG2537with you in My Father’sπατρόςpatrosG3962kingdomβασιλείᾳbasileiaG932.”

30After singingG5214a hymnὑμνήσαντεςhumnēsantesG5214,they wentἐξῆλθονexēlthonG1831out tothe MountὄροςorosG3735of OlivesG1636.

31ThenΤότεToteG5119JesusἸησοῦς·IēsousG2424saidλέγειlegeiG3004to them,“You will allπάντεςpantesG3956fallσκανδαλισθήσεσθεskandalisthēsestheG4624awayG4624becauseG1722of Me thisταύτῃ·tautēG3778nightνυκτὶnuktiG3571,for it is writtenγέγραπταιgegraptaiG1125, ‘I will strikeπατάξωpataxōG3960downG3960the shepherdποιμένα,poimenaG4166,and the sheepπρόβαταprobataG4263of the flockποίμνης.poimnēsG4167shall bescatteredδιασκορπισθήσονταιdiaskorpisthēsontaiG1287.’

32But afterμετὰmetaG3326I have been raisedἐγερθῆναίegerthēnaiG1453,I will goπροάξωproaxōG4254aheadG4254of you to GalileeΓαλιλαίαν.¶GalilaianG1056.”

33But PeterΠέτροςPetrosG4074saidG3004to Him, “EventhoughεἰeiG1487allπάντεςpantesG3956mayfallσκανδαλισθήσονταιskandalisthēsontaiG4624awayσκανδαλισθήσομαι.¶skandalisthēsomaiG4624becauseἐνenG1722of You, I will neverοὐδέποτεoudepoteG3763fallG4624awayG4624.”

34JesusἸησοῦς·IēsousG2424saidἜφηEphēG5346to him, “TrulyἀμὴνamēnG281I sayλέγωlegōG3004to you thatthisταύτῃtautēG3778verynightνυκτὶnuktiG3571,beforeπρὶνprinG4250a roosterἀλέκτοραalektoraG220crowsφωνῆσαιphōnēsaiG5455,you will denyἀπαρνήσῃaparnēsēG533Me threeG5151timesG5151.”
