2Duringγινομένου,ginomenouG1096supperδείπνουdeipnouG1173,the devilδιαβόλουdiabolouG1228having alreadyἤδηēdēG2235putβεβληκότοςbeblēkotosG906into the heartκαρδίανkardianG2588ofJudasἸούδαςIoudasG2455IscariotἸσκαριώτου,IskariōtouG2469, the sonof SimonΣίμωνοςSimōnosG4613,to betrayG3860Him,

3Jesus,knowingG3609that the FatherπατὴρpatērG3962had givenἔδωκενedōkenG1325allG3956thingsπάνταpantaG3956into His handsχεῖρας,cheirasG5495, and thatHe had comeG1831forthἐξῆλθενexēlthenG1831from GodθεοῦtheouG2316and was goingG5217backG5217to GodθεὸνtheonG2316,

4gotἐγείρεταιegeiretaiG1453up from supperδείπνουdeipnouG1173,and laidτίθησινtithēsinG5087asideG5087His garmentsἱμάτια,himatiaG2440;and takingλαβὼνlabōnG2983a towelλέντιονlentionG3012, HegirdedδιέζωσενdiezōsenG1241Himselfἑαυτόν.he'autonG1438.

5ThenεἶταeitaG1534He pouredβάλλειballeiG906waterὕδωρhudōrG5204into the basinνιπτῆραniptēraG3537,and beganἤρξατοērxatoG757towashνίπτεινnipteinG3538the disciples’μαθητῶνmathētōnG3101feetπόδαςpodasG4228and to wipeἐκμάσσεινekmasseinG1591them with the towelλεντίῳlentiōG3012with whichᾧhōG3739He was girdedδιεζωσμένος.¶diezōsmenosG1241.

6SoοὖνounG3767He cameἜρχεταιErchetaiG2064to SimonΣίμωναSimōnaG4613PeterΠέτρον·PetronG4074.He saidλέγειlegeiG3004to Him, “Lordκύριε,kurieG2962,do You washνίπτειςnipteisG3538my feetπόδας;podasG4228?”

7JesusἸησοῦςIēsousG2424answeredἀπεκρίθηapekrithēG611and saidG3004to him,“WhatὃhoG3739I doποιῶ,poiōG4160you do not realizeG3609nowἄρτι,artiG737,but you will understandγνώσῃgnōsēG1097hereafterμετὰ ταῦτα.meta tautaG3326 G3778.”

8PeterΠέτρος·PetrosG4074saidλέγειlegeiG3004to Him, “NeverοὐouG3756 G3361shall You washνίψῃςnipsēsG3538my feetπόδαςpodasG4228!”JesusἸησοῦςIēsousG2424answeredἈπεκρίθηApekrithēG611him, “IfἐὰνeanG1437I do not washνίψωnipsōG3538you,you haveἔχειςecheisG2192noοὐκoukG3756partμέροςmerosG3313with Me.”

9SimonΣίμωνSimōnG4613PeterΠέτρος·PetrosG4074saidλέγειlegeiG3004to Him, “Lordκύριε,kurieG2962, then washnot onlyG3440my feetπόδαςpodasG4228,but alsoG2532my handsχεῖραςcheirasG5495and my headκεφαλήν.¶kephalēnG2776.”

10JesusἸησοῦς·IēsousG2424saidΛέγειLegeiG3004to him,“He who has bathedλελουμένοςleloumenosG3068needsχρείανchreianG5532onlyοὐκ εἰ μὴouk ei mēG3756 G1487 G3361to washνίψασθαι,nipsasthaiG3538his feetπόδαςpodasG4228,but is completelyὅλος·holosG3650cleanκαθαρὸςkatharosG2513; andyou are cleanκαθαροίkatharoiG2513,but not allπάντες.pantesG3956of you.”

11ForHe knewG3609the one who was betrayingπαραδιδόνταparadidontaG3860Him; for thisτοῦτοtoutoG3778reasonδιὰdiaG1223He saidG3004,“Not allπάντεςpantesG3956of you are cleanκαθαροίkatharoiG2513.”

12SoοὖνounG3767whenὍτεHoteG3753He had washedἔνιψενenipsenG3538their feetπόδαςpodasG4228, andtakenἔλαβενelabenG2983His garmentsἱμάτιαhimatiaG2440and reclinedἀνέπεσενanepesenG377at the tableagainπάλιν,palinG3825,He saidG3004to them,“Do you knowγινώσκετεginōsketeG1097whatτίtiG5101I have doneπεποίηκαpepoiēkaG4160to you?
