Joshua 14

Darby Bible

1And this is what the children of IsraelH3478 inheritedH5157 in the landH776 of CanaanH3667, which EleazarH499 the priestH3548, and JoshuaH3091 the sonH1121 of NunH5126, and the chiefH7218 fathersH1 of the tribesH4294 of the children of IsraelH3478, allotted for inheritanceH5157 to them: 2their inheritanceH5159 was by lotH1486, as Jehovah had commandedH6680 by MosesH4872, for the nineH8672 tribesH4294, and the halfH2677 tribeH4294. 3For MosesH4872 had givenH5414 the inheritanceH5159 of the twoH8147 tribesH4294 and the halfH2677 tribeH4294 beyond the JordanH3383, but to the LevitesH3881 he had givenH5414 no inheritanceH5159 among them. 4For the children of JosephH3130 wereH1961 twoH8147 tribesH4294, ManassehH4519 and EphraimH669; and they gaveH5414 no part to the LevitesH3881 in the landH776, save citiesH5892 to dwellH3427 in, and their suburbs for their cattle and for their substance. 5As Jehovah had commandedH6680 MosesH4872, so the children of IsraelH3478 did, and they dividedH2505 the landH776. 6Then the children of JudahH3063 came near to JoshuaH3091 in GilgalH1537, and CalebH3612 the sonH1121 of JephunnehH3312 the KenizziteH7074 saidH559 to him, Thou knowest the wordH1697 that Jehovah spokeH1696 to MosesH4872 the manH376 of 1GodH430, concerning me and thee, in Kadesh-barneaH6947. 7FortyH705 yearsH8141 old was I whenH834 MosesH4872 the servantH5650 of Jehovah sentH7971 me from Kadesh-barneaH6947 to search out the landH776; and I broughtH7725 him wordH1697 again as it was in my heartH3824. 8And my brethren that had goneH5927 up with me made the heartH3820 of the peopleH5971 meltH4529; but I wholly followed Jehovah my 2GodH430. 9And MosesH4872 sworeH7650 on that dayH3117, sayingH559, The landH776 whereon thy feetH7272 have troddenH1869 shall assuredly beH1961 thine inheritanceH5159, and thy children's for everH5769! for thou hast wholly followed Jehovah my 3GodH430. 10And nowH6258 behold, Jehovah has kept me aliveH2421, as he saidH1696, these forty-fiveH705 yearsH8141, since Jehovah spokeH1696 this wordH1697 to MosesH4872, when IsraelH3478 wandered in the wildernessH4057; and nowH6258 behold, I am this dayH3117 eighty-fiveH8084 yearsH8141 old. 11I am stillH5750 this dayH3117 strongH2389, as in the dayH3117 that MosesH4872 sentH7971 me: as my strengthH3581 was thenH227, even so is my strengthH3581 nowH6258, for warH4421, both to goH3318 out and to comeH935 in. 12And nowH6258 giveH5414 me this mountainH2022, of which Jehovah spokeH1696 in that dayH3117; for thou heardest in that dayH3117 that Anakim are there, and greatH1419 fortifiedH1219 citiesH5892. If so be Jehovah shall be with me, then I shall dispossessH3423 them, as Jehovah saidH1696. 13And JoshuaH3091 blessedH1288 him, and gaveH5414 HebronH2275 to CalebH3612 the sonH1121 of JephunnehH3312 for an inheritanceH5159. 14HebronH2275 thereforeH3651 becameH1961 the inheritanceH5159 of CalebH3612 the sonH1121 of JephunnehH3312 the KenizziteH7074 to this dayH3117, because he wholly followed Jehovah the 4GodH430 of IsraelH3478. 15Now the nameH8034 of HebronH2275 before was Kirjath-Arba; the greatH1419 manH120 among the Anakim. And the landH776 rested from warH4421.
