Job 34
Darby Bible
1Moreover ElihuH453 answered and saidH559, 2HearH8085 my wordsH4405, ye wiseH2450 [men]; and giveH238 earH238 unto me, ye that have knowledge. 3For the earH241 trieth wordsH4405, as the palateH2441 tasteth food. 4Let us chooseH977 for ourselves what is rightH4941; let us knowH3045 among ourselves what is goodH2896! 5For JobH347 hath saidH559, I am righteousH6663, and 1GodH410 hath taken awayH5493 my judgmentH4941: 6Should I lieH3576 against my rightH4941? My wound is incurableH605 without transgressionH6588. 7What manH1397 is like JobH347? he drinketh up scorning like waterH4325, 8And goeth in company with workers of iniquity, and walketh with wicked menH376. 9For he hath saidH559, It profiteth not a manH1397 if he delightH7521 himself in 2GodH430. 10ThereforeH3651 hearken unto me, ye menH376 of understanding: FarH2486 be wickednessH7562 from 3GodH410, and wrong from the AlmightyH7706! 11For a man's workH6467 will he render to him, and cause every oneH376 to findH4672 according to [his] wayH734. 12Yea, surely, 4GodH410 acteth not wickedlyH7561, and the AlmightyH7706 perverteth not judgmentH4941. 13Who hath entrusted to him the earthH776? and who hath disposed the whole worldH8398? 14If he only thought of himself, [and] gatheredH622 unto him his spiritH7307 and his breathH7307, 15All fleshH1320 would expireH1478 togetherH3162, and manH120 would returnH7725 to the dustH6083. 16If now [thou hast] understandingH998, hearH8085 this: giveH238 earH238 to the voiceH6963 of my wordsH4405! 17Should he that hateth rightH4941 indeedH637 govern? and wilt thou condemnH7561 the All-just? 18Shall one sayH559 to a kingH4428, Belial? to noblesH5081, WickedH7563? 19[How then to him] that accepteth not the persons of princesH8269, nor regardeth the rich man more than the poorH1800? for they are all the workH4639 of his handsH3027. 20In a momentH7281 they dieH4191, even at midnight the peopleH5971 are convulsed and passH5674 awayH5493; and the strong are taken awayH5493 without handH3027. 21For his eyesH5869 are upon the waysH1870 of manH376, and he seeth all his stepsH6806. 22There is no darknessH2822, nor shadow of death, where the workers of iniquity may hideH5641 themselves. 23For he doth not long consider a manH376, to bring him before 5GodH410 in judgmentH4941. 24He breaketh in pieces mightyH3524 men without inquiryH2714, and setteth othersH312 in their stead; 25Since he knoweth their actions; and he overthroweth [them] in the nightH3915, and they are crushedH1792. 26He striketh them as wickedH7563 men in the open sight of others, 27Because they have turnedH5493 back from him, and would considerH7919 none of his waysH1870; 28So that they cause the cryH6818 of the poorH6041 to comeH935 unto him, and he heareth the cryH6818 of the afflictedH6041. 29When he giveth quietnessH8252, who then will disturb? and when he hideth [his] faceH6440, who shall behold him? and this towards a nationH1471, or towards a manH120 alikeH3162; 30That the ungodly manH120 reignH4427 not, that the peopleH5971 be not ensnared. 31For hath he saidH559 unto 6GodH410, I bearH5375 [chastisement], I will not offend; 32What I seeH2372 not, teachH3384 thou me; if I have done wrong, I will do so no more? 33Shall he recompense according to thy mind? for thou hast refused [his judgment]; for thou so choosest, and not I; speakH1696 then what thou knowest. 34Men of understanding will sayH559 to me, and a wiseH2450 manH376 who heareth me: 35JobH347 hath spokenH1696 without knowledgeH1847, and his wordsH1697 were not with intelligence. 36Would that JobH347 may be tried unto the end, because of [his] answersH8666 after the manner of evil menH376! 37For he addeth rebellion unto his sinH2403, he clappeth [his hands] among us, and multiplieth his wordsH561 against 7GodH410.
