Job 16
Darby Bible
1And JobH347 answered and saidH559, 2I have heardH8085 manyH7227 such thingsH428: grievous comfortersH5162 are ye all. 3Shall wordsH1697 of windH7307 have an endH7093? or what provoketh thee that thou answerest? 4I alsoH1571 could speakH1696 as ye: if your soulH5315 were in my soul's stead, I could joinH2266 together wordsH4405 against you, and shakeH5128 my headH7218 at you; 5[But] I would encourage you with my mouthH6310, and the solace of my lipsH8193 should assuage [your pain]. 6If I speakH1696, my painH3511 is not assuaged; and if I forbear, what am I eased? 7But nowH6258 he hath madeH8074 me wearyH3811; ...thou hast madeH8074 desolateH8074 all my family; 8Thou hast shrivelled me up! it is becomeH1961 a witnessH5707; and my leanness riseth up against me, it beareth witnessH5707 to my faceH6440. 9His angerH639 teareth and pursueth me; he gnasheth with his teethH8127 against me; [as] mine adversary he sharpeneth his eyesH5869 at me. 10They gape upon me with their mouthH6310; they smite my cheeksH3895 reproachfully; they range themselves togetherH3162 against me. 111GodH410 hath deliveredH5462 me over to the iniquitous man, and hurled me into the handsH3027 of the wickedH7563. 12I wasH1961 at rest, but he hath shattered me; he hath takenH270 me by the neckH6203 and shaken me to pieces, and setH6965 me up for his mark. 13His arrows encompass me roundH5437 about, he cleaveth my reins asunder and doth not spareH2550; he poureth out my gall upon the groundH776. 14He breaketh me with breachH6556 upon breachH6556; he runneth upon me like a mightyH1368 manH1368. 15I have sewedH8609 sackclothH8242 upon my skin, and rolled my hornH7161 in the dustH6083. 16My faceH6440 is red with weepingH1065, and on my eyelidsH6079 is the shadow of death; 17Although there is no violenceH2555 in my handsH3709, and my prayerH8605 is pureH2134. 18O earthH776, coverH3680 not my bloodH1818, and let there beH1961 no placeH4725 for my cryH2201! 19Even nowH6258, behold, my WitnessH5707 is in the heavensH8064, and he that voucheth for me is in the heightsH4791. 20My friendsH7453 are my mockers; mine eyeH5869 poureth out tears unto 2GodH433. 21Oh that there were arbitration for a manH120 with 3GodH433, as a sonH1121 of manH120 for his friendH7453! 22For yearsH8141 [few] in numberH4557 shall pass, — and I shall goH1980 the wayH734 [whence] I shall not returnH7725.
