Job 23
Darby Bible
1And JobH347 answered and saidH559, 2Even to-day is my complaintH7879 bitter: my stroke is heavierH3513 than my groaningH585. 3Oh that I knewH3045 where I might findH4672 him, that I might comeH935 to his seat! 4I would order the cause before him, and fillH4390 my mouthH6310 with arguments; 5I would knowH3045 the wordsH4405 he would answerH6030 me, and understandH995 what he would sayH559 unto me. 6Would he plead against me with [his] greatH7227 powerH3581? Nay; but he would give heed unto me. 7There would an uprightH3477 man reason with him; and I should be deliveredH6403 for ever from my judgeH8199. 8Lo, I goH1980 forward, but he is not there; and backwardH268, but I do not perceiveH995 him; 9On the left handH3225, where he doth work, but I behold [him] not; he hideth himself on the rightH3225 handH3225, and I seeH7200 [him] not. 10But he knoweth the wayH1870 that I take; he trieth me, I shall comeH3318 forthH3318 as goldH2091. 11My footH7272 hath heldH270 to his steps; his wayH1870 have I keptH8104, and not turnedH5186 asideH5186. 12Neither have I gone back from the commandmentH4687 of his lipsH8193; I have laid up the wordsH561 of his mouthH6310 more than the purpose of my own heart. 13But he is in oneH259 [mind], and who can turnH7725 him? And what his soulH5315 desireth, that will he do. 14For he will perform [what] is appointed for me; and manyH7227 such things are with him. 15ThereforeH3651 am I troubled at his presenceH6440; I considerH995, and I am afraidH6342 of him. 16For 1GodH410 hath made my heartH3820 soft, and the AlmightyH7706 troubleth me; 17Because I was not cut off before the darknessH2822, neither hath he hidden the gloomH652 from me.
