Daniel 11
Darby Bible
1And I, in the first yearH8141 of DariusH1867 the Mede, I stoodH5975 to confirm and to strengthenH2388 him. 2And nowH6258 will I declareH5046 unto thee the truthH571. Behold, there shall standH5975 up yetH5750 threeH7969 kingsH4428 in PersiaH6539; and the fourthH7243 shall enrich himself with greatH1419 richesH6239 more than all; and when he hath becomeH6238 strong through his richesH6239, he shall stirH5782 up all against the realm of GreeceH3120. 3And a mightyH1368 kingH4428 shall standH5975 up that shall ruleH4910 with greatH7227 dominionH4910, and do according to his will. 4And when he shall standH5975 up, his kingdomH4438 shall be brokenH7665, and shall be dividedH2673 toward the fourH702 windsH7307 of the heavensH8064; but not to his posterityH319, nor according to his dominionH4910 wherewith he ruledH4910; for his kingdomH4438 shall be pluckedH5428 up, even for othersH312 beside these. 5And the kingH4428 of the southH5045, who is oneH4480 of his princesH8269, shall be strongH2388; but [another] shall be strongerH2388 than he, and have dominionH4475: his dominionH4475 shall be a greatH7227 dominionH4475. 6And after the course of yearsH8141 they shall joinH2266 affinity; and the king's daughterH1323 of the southH5045 shall comeH935 to the kingH4428 of the northH6828 to makeH5414 equitable conditions: but she shall not retainH6113 the strengthH2220 of her armH2220; neither shall he standH5975, nor his armH2220; and she shall be givenH5414 up, she and they that broughtH935 her, and he that begat her, and he that strengthenedH2388 her in [those] timesH6256. 7But out of a shoot from her rootsH8328 shall one standH5975 up in his place, who shall comeH935 to the armyH2428, and shall enter into the fortress of the kingH4428 of the northH6828, and shall deal against them, and shew himself mighty. 8He shall alsoH1571 carry captive into EgyptH4714 their 1godsH430, with their princes, and their preciousH2532 vesselsH3627 of silverH3701 and of goldH2091; and he shall subsist for more yearsH8141 than the kingH4428 of the northH6828; 9and [the same] shall comeH935 into the realm of the kingH4428 of the southH5045, but shall returnH7725 into his own landH127. 10And his sonsH1121 shall be stirred up, and shall assemble a multitudeH1995 of greatH7227 forces; and one shall certainly comeH935, and overflowH7857, and passH5674 through; and he shall returnH7725 and carry the warH1624 even to his fortress. 11And the kingH4428 of the southH5045 shall be enraged, and shall comeH3318 forthH3318 and fightH3898 with him, with the kingH4428 of the northH6828, who shall setH5414 forthH3318 a greatH7227 multitudeH1995, but the multitudeH1995 shall be givenH5414 into his handH3027. 12And when the multitudeH1995 shall have been takenH5375 awayH5375, his heartH3824 shall be exaltedH7311; and he shall castH5307 downH5307 myriads; but he shall not prevailH5810. 13For the kingH4428 of the northH6828 shall returnH7725, and shall setH5975 forth a multitudeH1995 greaterH1419 than the formerH7223; and shall certainly comeH935 at the endH7093 of the timesH6256 of yearsH8141 with a greatH1419 armyH2428 and with muchH7227 substance. 14And in those timesH6256 shall manyH7227 standH5975 up against the kingH4428 of the southH5045; and the violentH6530 of thy peopleH5971 will exalt themselves to establish the visionH2377; but they shall fall. 15And the kingH4428 of the northH6828 shall comeH935, and cast up a mound, and takeH3920 the well-fenced cityH5892; and the armsH2220 of the southH5045 shall not withstand, neither his chosen peopleH5971, for there shall be no strengthH2220 to withstand. 16And he that cometh against him shall do according to his own will, and none shall standH5975 before him; and he shall standH5975 in the landH776 of beauty, and destruction shall be in his handH3027. 17And he shall setH7760 his faceH6440 to comeH935 with the strength of his whole kingdomH4438, and uprightH3477 ones with him; and he shall practise; and he shall giveH5414 him the daughterH1323 of womenH802, to corruptH7843 her; but she shall not standH5975, neither shall she beH1961 for him. 18And he shall turnH7725 his faceH6440 unto the isles, and shall take manyH7227; but a captain for his own behalf shall cause the reproachH2781 offered by him to ceaseH7673: he shall turnH7725 it upon him, without reproachH2781 for himself. 19And he shall turnH7725 his faceH6440 toward the fortresses of his own landH776; and he shall stumbleH3782 and fallH5307, and not be foundH4672. 20And in his place shall oneH259 standH5975 up who shall cause the exactor to passH5674 through the glory of the kingdomH4438; but in a few daysH3117 he shall be brokenH7665, neither in angerH639 nor in battleH4421. 21And in his place shall standH5975 up a vile person, to whom they shall not giveH5414 the honour of the kingdomH4438; but he shall comeH935 in peaceably and obtain the kingdomH4438 by flatteries. 22And the overflowingH7857 forces shall be overflowed from before him, and shall be brokenH7665: yea, alsoH1571 the princeH5057 of the covenantH1285. 23And after the league madeH6213 with him he shall work deceitfully, and he shall comeH5927 up, and shall become strong with a smallH4592 people. 24In timeH6256 of peace shall he enter even into the fattest places of the provinceH4082; and he shall do that which his fathersH1 have not done, nor his fathers' fathersH1: he shall scatter among them prey, and spoilH7998, and substance, and he shall planH2803 his devices against the fortified places, even for a timeH6256. 25And he shall stirH5782 up his powerH3581 and his courage against the kingH4428 of the southH5045 with a greatH1419 armyH2428; and the kingH4428 of the southH5045 shall engage in battleH4421 with an exceeding greatH1419 and mightyH6099 armyH2428; but he shall not standH5975, for they shall planH2803 devices against him. 26And they that eatH398 of his delicate food shall breakH7665 him, and his armyH2428 shall be dissolved; and manyH7227 shall fallH5307 downH5307 slainH2491. 27And both these kings' heartsH3824 [shall meditate] mischief, and they shall speakH1696 liesH3577 at oneH259 tableH7979; but it shall not prosperH6743; for yetH5750 the endH7093 shall be at the timeH4150 appointedH4150. 28And he shall returnH7725 into his landH776 with greatH1419 substance; and his heartH3824 shall be against the holyH6944 covenantH1285; and he shall practise, and returnH7725 to his own landH776. 29At the set timeH4150 he shall returnH7725, and comeH935 towards the southH5045; but not as the formerH7223 timeH4150 shall beH1961 the latterH314; 30for shipsH6716 of Chittim shall comeH935 against him; and he shall be grieved, and returnH7725, and have indignation against the holyH6944 covenantH1285; and will practise; and he shall returnH7725 and direct his attentionH995 to those that forsakeH5800 the holyH6944 covenantH1285. 31And forces shall standH5975 on his part, and they shall profaneH2490 the sanctuaryH4720, the fortress, and shall take awayH5493 the continual [sacrifice], and they shall place the abominationH8251 that maketh desolateH8074. 32And such as do wickedlyH7561 against the covenantH1285 shall he pervert by flatteries; but the peopleH5971 that knowH3045 their 2GodH430 shall be strongH2388, and shall actH7561. 33And they that are wiseH7919 among the peopleH5971 shall instruct the manyH7227; and they shall fall by the swordH2719, and by flameH3852, by captivityH7628, and by spoil, [manyH7227] daysH3117. 34And when they fall, they shall be helpedH5826 with a littleH4592 helpH5826; but manyH7227 shall cleave to them with flatteries. 35And [some] of the wiseH7919 shall fall, to try them, and to purgeH1305 and to make them whiteH3835, to the timeH6256 of the endH7093: for it shall yetH5750 be for the timeH6256 appointedH4150. 36And the kingH4428 shall do according to his will; and he shall exaltH7311 himself, and magnifyH1431 himself above every 3godH410, and speakH1696 monstrous things against the 4GodH410 of 5godsH410; and he shall prosperH6743 until the indignationH2195 be accomplished: for that which is determined shall be done. 37And he will not regard the 6GodH430 of his fathersH1, nor the desireH2532 of womenH802; nor regard any 7godH430: for he will magnifyH1431 himself above all. 38And in his placeH3653 will he honour the 8godH433 of fortresses; and a 9godH433 whom his fathersH1 knewH3045 not will he honour with goldH2091 and silverH3701, and with preciousH3368 stonesH68 and pleasant things. 39And he will practise in the strongholdsH4013 of fortresses with a strange 10godH433: whoso acknowledgeth him will he increaseH7235 with gloryH3519; and he shall cause them to ruleH4910 over the manyH7227, and shall divideH2505 the landH127 [to them] for a reward. 40And at the timeH6256 of the endH7093 shall the kingH4428 of the southH5045 push at him; and the kingH4428 of the northH6828 shall comeH935 against him like a whirlwind, with chariotsH7393, and with horsemenH6571, and with manyH7227 shipsH591; and he shall enter into the countries, and overflowH7857 and passH5674 through. 41And he shall enter into the landH776 of beauty, and manyH7227 [countries] shall be overthrown; but these shall escapeH4422 out of his handH3027: EdomH123, and MoabH4124, and the chief of the children of AmmonH5983. 42And he shall stretchH7971 forthH7971 his handH3027 upon the countries; and the landH776 of EgyptH4714 shall not escapeH6413. 43And he shall have power over the treasures of goldH2091 and of silverH3701, and over all the preciousH2530 things of EgyptH4714; and the LibyansH3864 and the Ethiopians shall be at his stepsH4703. 44But tidings out of the eastH4217 and out of the northH6828 shall trouble him; and he shall goH3318 forthH3318 with greatH1419 fury to exterminate, and utterly to destroyH8045 manyH7227. 45And he shall plantH5193 the tentsH168 of his palace between the seaH3220 and the mountainH2022 of holyH6944 beauty; and he shall comeH935 to his endH7093, and there shall be none to helpH5826 him.
