Daniel 11
1And as for me, in the first yearH8141 of DariusH1867 the Mede, I stoodH5975 up to confirm and strengthenH2388 him.
2And nowH6258 will I show thee the truthH571. Behold, there shall standH5975 up yetH5750 threeH7969 kingsH4428 in PersiaH6539; and the fourthH7243 shall be far richer than they all: and when he is waxed strong through his richesH6239, he shall stirH5782 up all against the realm of GreeceH3120. 3And a mightyH1368 kingH4428 shall standH5975 up, that shall ruleH4910 with greatH7227 dominionH4910, and do according to his will. 4And when he shall standH5975 up, his kingdomH4438 shall be brokenH7665, and shall be dividedH2673 toward the fourH702 windsH7307 of heavenH8064, but not to his posterityH319, nor according to his dominionH4910 wherewith he ruledH4910; for his kingdomH4438 shall be pluckedH5428 up, even for othersH312 besides these.
5And the kingH4428 of the southH5045 shall be strongH2388, andoneH4480of his princesH8269; and he shall be strongH2388 above him, and have dominionH4475; his dominionH4475 shall be a greatH7227 dominionH4475. 6And at the endH7093 of yearsH8141 they shall joinH2266 themselves togetherH2266; and the daughterH1323 of the kingH4428 of the southH5045 shall comeH935 to the kingH4428 of the northH6828 to makeH5414 an agreement: but she shall not retainH6113 the strengthH2220 of her armH2220; neither shall he standH5975, nor his armH2220; but she shall be givenH5414 up, and they that broughtH935 her, and he that begat her, and he that strengthenedH2388 her in those timesH6256.
7But out of a shoot from her rootsH8328 shall one standH5975 up in his place, who shall comeH935 unto the armyH2428, and shall enter into the fortress of the kingH4428 of the northH6828, and shall deal against them, and shall prevail. 8And alsoH1571 their godsH430, with their molten images, and with their goodly vesselsH3627 of silverH3701 and of goldH2091, shall he carry captive into EgyptH4714; and he shall refrain some yearsH8141 from the kingH4428 of the northH6828. 9And he shall comeH935 into the realm of the kingH4428 of the southH5045, but he shall returnH7725 into his own landH127.
10And his sonsH1121 shall warH1624, and shall assemble a multitudeH1995 of greatH7227 forces, which shall comeH935 on, and overflowH7857, and passH5674 through; and they shall returnH7725 and warH1624, even to his fortress. 11And the kingH4428 of the southH5045 shall be moved with anger, and shall comeH3318 forthH3318 and fightH3898 with him, even with the kingH4428 of the northH6828; and he shall setH5414 forthH3318 a greatH7227 multitudeH1995, and the multitudeH1995 shall be givenH5414 into his handH3027. 12And the multitudeH1995 shall be liftedH5375 up, and his heartH3824 shall be exaltedH7311; and he shall castH5307 downH5307 tensH7239 of thousandsH7239, but he shall not prevailH5810. 13And the kingH4428 of the northH6828 shall returnH7725, and shall setH5975 forth a multitudeH1995 greaterH1419 than the formerH7223; and he shall comeH935 on at the endH7093 of the timesH6256, even of yearsH8141, with a greatH1419 armyH2428 and with muchH7227 substance. 14And in those timesH6256 there shall manyH7227 standH5975 up against the kingH4428 of the southH5045: also the children of the violentH6530 among thy peopleH5971 shall liftH5375 themselves up to establish the visionH2377; but they shall fall. 15So the kingH4428 of the northH6828 shall comeH935, and cast up a mound, and takeH3920 a well-fortified cityH5892: and the forces of the southH5045 shall not standH5975, neither his chosen peopleH5971, neither shall there be any strengthH2220 to standH5975. 16But he that cometh against him shall do according to his own will, and none shall standH5975 before him; and he shall standH5975 in the glorious landH776, and in his handH3027 shall be destruction. 17And he shall setH7760 his faceH6440 to comeH935 with the strength of his whole kingdomH4438, and with him equitable conditions; and he shall perform them: and he shall giveH5414 him the daughterH1323 of womenH802, to corruptH7843 her; but she shall not standH5975, neither beH1961 for him. 18After this shall he turnH7725 his faceH6440 unto the isles, and shall take manyH7227: but a prince shall cause the reproachH2781 offered by him to ceaseH7673; yea, moreover, he shall cause his reproachH2781 to turnH7725 upon him. 19Then he shall turnH7725 his faceH6440 toward the fortresses of his own landH776; but he shall stumbleH3782 and fallH5307, and shall not be foundH4672.
20Then shall standH5975 up in his place oneH259 that shall cause an exactor to passH5674 through the glory of the kingdomH4438; but within few daysH3117 he shall be destroyed, neither in angerH639, nor in battleH4421. 21And in his place shall standH5975 up a contemptible person, to whom they had not givenH5414 the honor of the kingdomH4438: but he shall comeH935 in time of security, and shall obtain the kingdomH4438 by flatteries. 22And the overwhelming forces shall be overwhelmed from before him, and shall be brokenH7665; yea, alsoH1571 the princeH5057 of the covenantH1285. 23And after the league madeH6213 with him he shall work deceitfully; for he shall comeH5927 up, and shall become strong, with a smallH4592 people. 24In timeH6256 of security shall he comeH935 even upon the fattest places of the provinceH4082; and he shall do that which his fathersH1 have not done, nor his fathers’H1 fathersH1; he shall scatter among them prey, and spoilH7998, and substance: yea, he shall devise his devices against the strongholdsH4013, even for a timeH6256. 25And he shall stirH5782 up his powerH3581 and his courage against the kingH4428 of the southH5045 with a greatH1419 armyH2428; and the kingH4428 of the southH5045 shall warH4421 in battleH4421 with an exceeding greatH1419 and mightyH6099 armyH2428; but he shall not standH5975; for they shall devise devices against him. 26Yea, they that eatH398 of his dainties shall destroy him, and his armyH2428 shall overflowH7857; and manyH7227 shall fallH5307 downH5307 slainH2491. 27And as for both these kingsH4428, their heartsH3824 shall be to do mischief, and they shall speakH1696 liesH3577 at oneH259 tableH7979: but it shall not prosperH6743; for yetH5750 the endH7093 shall be at the timeH4150 appointedH4150.
28Then shall he returnH7725 into his landH776 with greatH1419 substance; and his heartH3824 shall be against the holyH6944 covenantH1285; and he shall do his pleasure, and returnH7725 to his own landH776. 29At the timeH4150 appointedH4150 he shall returnH7725, and comeH935 into the southH5045; but it shall not beH1961 in the latterH314 timeH4150 as it wasH1961 in the formerH7223. 30For shipsH6716 of KittimH3794 shall comeH935 against him; therefore he shall be grieved, and shall returnH7725, and have indignation against the holyH6944 covenantH1285, and shall do his pleasure: he shall even returnH7725, and have regard unto them that forsakeH5800 the holyH6944 covenantH1285. 31And forces shall standH5975 on his part, and they shall profaneH2490 the sanctuaryH4720, even the fortress, and shall take awayH5493 the continual burnt-offering, and they shall setH5414 up the abominationH8251 that maketh desolateH8074. 32And such as do wickedlyH7561 against the covenantH1285 shall he pervert by flatteries; but the peopleH5971 that knowH3045 their GodH430 shall be strongH2388, and do exploits. 33And they that are wiseH7919 among the peopleH5971 shall instruct manyH7227; yet they shall fall by the swordH2719 and by flameH3852, by captivityH7628 and by spoil, manyH7227 daysH3117. 34Now when they shall fall, they shall be helpedH5826 with a littleH4592 helpH5826; but manyH7227 shall joinH3867 themselves unto them with flatteries. 35And some of them that are wiseH7919 shall fall, to refineH6884 them, and to purifyH1305, and to make them whiteH3835, even to the timeH6256 of the endH7093; because it is yetH5750 for the timeH6256 appointedH4150.
36And the kingH4428 shall do according to his will; and he shall exaltH7311 himself, and magnifyH1431 himself above every godH410, and shall speakH1696 marvellous things against the GodH410 of godsH410; and he shall prosperH6743 till the indignationH2195 be accomplished; for that which is determined shall be done. 37Neither shall he regard the godsH430 of his fathersH1, nor the desireH2532 of womenH802, nor regard any godH430; for he shall magnifyH1431 himself above all. 38But in his placeH3653 shall he honorH3513 the godH433 of fortresses; and a godH433 whom his fathersH1 knewH3045 not shall he honorH3513 with goldH2091, and silverH3701, and with preciousH3368 stonesH68 and pleasant things. 39And he shall deal with the strongest fortresses by the help of a foreign godH433: whosoever acknowledgeth him he will increaseH7235 with gloryH3519; and he shall cause them to ruleH4910 over manyH7227, and shall divideH2505 the landH127 for a priceH4242.
40And at the timeH6256 of the endH7093 shall the kingH4428 of the southH5045 contend with him; and the kingH4428 of the northH6828 shall comeH935 against him like a whirlwind, with chariotsH7393, and with horsemenH6571, and with manyH7227 shipsH591; and he shall enter into the countries, and shall overflowH7857 and passH5674 through. 41He shall enter also into the glorious landH776, and manyH7227 countries shall be overthrown; but these shall be deliveredH4422 out of his handH3027: EdomH123, and MoabH4124, and the chief of the children of AmmonH5983. 42He shall stretchH7971 forthH7971 his handH3027 also upon the countries; and the landH776 of EgyptH4714 shall not escapeH6413. 43But he shall have power over the treasures of goldH2091 and of silverH3701, and over all the preciousH2530 things of EgyptH4714; and the LibyansH3864 and the Ethiopians shall be at his stepsH4703. 44But tidings out of the eastH4217 and out of the northH6828 shall trouble him; and he shall goH3318 forthH3318 with greatH1419 fury to destroyH8045 and utterly to sweep away manyH7227. 45And he shall plantH5193 the tentsH168 of his palace between the seaH3220 and the glorious holyH6944 mountainH2022; yet he shall comeH935 to his endH7093, and none shall helpH5826 him.
