Daniel 7

Darby Bible

1In the first yearH8140 of BelshazzarH1113 kingH4430 of BabylonH895, DanielH1841 sawH2370 a dreamH2493 and visionsH2376 of his headH7217 upon his bedH4903: thenH116 he wrote the dreamH2493; he toldH560 the sum of the matters. 2DanielH1841 spoke and saidH560, I sawH2370 in my visionH2376 by nightH3916, and behold, the fourH703 winds of the heavensH8065 broke forth upon the greatH7229 seaH3221. 3And fourH703 greatH7260 beastsH2423 came up from the seaH3221, differentH8133 oneH1668 from another. 4The first was like a lionH744, and had eagle's wingsH1611: I beheld till its wingsH1611 were plucked; and it was liftedH5191 up from the earthH772, and made to standH6966 upon two feet as a manH606, and a man's heartH3825 was given to it. 5And behold, another beastH2423, a second, like unto a bear, and it raised up itself on oneH2298 side; and [it had] threeH8532 ribs in its mouthH6433 between its teeth; and they saidH560 thus unto it: AriseH6966, devourH399 much flesh. 6After this I sawH2370, and behold, another, like a leopard, and it had fourH703 wingsH1611 of a birdH5776 upon its back; and the beastH2423 had fourH703 headsH7217; and dominionH7985 was given to it. 7After this I sawH2370 in the nightH3916 visionsH2376, and behold, a fourthH7244 beastH2423, dreadful and terrible, and exceeding strongH8624; and it had greatH7260 ironH6523 teeth: it devouredH399 and broke in pieces, and stamped the restH7606 with its feet; and it was differentH8133 from all the beastsH2423 that were before it; and it had tenH6236 hornsH7162. 8I considered the hornsH7162, and behold, there came up among them another, a little hornH7162, before which threeH8532 of the first hornsH7162 were plucked up by the roots; and behold, in this hornH7162 were eyesH5870 like the eyesH5870 of a manH606, and a mouthH6433 speakingH4449 greatH7260 things. 9I beheld till thronesH3764 were set, and the AncientH6268 of daysH3118 did sit: his raiment was white as snow, and the hairH8177 of his headH7217 like pure wool; his throneH3764 was flames of fireH5135, [and] its wheels burning fireH5135. 10A stream of fireH5135 issued and came forth from before him; thousandH506 thousandsH506 ministered unto him, and ten thousandH506 times ten thousandH506 stoodH6966 before him: the judgment was setH6966, and the booksH5609 were openedH6606. 11I beheld therefore, because of the voiceH7032 of the greatH7260 wordsH4406 that the hornH7162 spokeH4449; I beheld till the beastH2423 was slain, and its bodyH1655 destroyedH7, and it was given up to be burned with fire. 12As for the restH7606 of the beastsH2423, their dominionH7985 was taken awayH5709; but their lives were prolongedH754 for a season and a timeH5732. 13I sawH2370 in the nightH3916 visionsH2376, and behold, there cameH858 with the clouds of heavenH8065 [one] like a sonH1247 of manH606, and he cameH858 up even to the AncientH6268 of daysH3118, and they broughtH858 him near before him. 14And there was given him dominionH7985, and glory, and a kingdomH4437, that all peoplesH5972, nationsH524, and languages should serve him: his dominionH7985 is an everlasting dominionH7985, which shall not passH5709 awayH5709, and his kingdomH4437 [that] which shall not be destroyedH2255. 15As for me DanielH1841, my spiritH7308 was grieved in the midstH1459 of my body, and the visionsH2376 of my headH7217 troubled me. 16I came near unto oneH2298 of them that stoodH6966 by, and asked him the certainty of all this. And he toldH560 me, and madeH3046 me knowH3046 the interpretationH6591 of the things: 17These greatH7260 beastsH2423, which are fourH703, are fourH703 kingsH4430, [that] shall ariseH6966 out of the earthH772. 18But the saints of the most high [places] shall receiveH6902 the kingdomH4437, and they shall possess the kingdomH4437 for everH5957, even to the ages of ages. 19ThenH116 I desired to know the certainty concerningH5922 the fourthH7244 beastH2423, which was differentH8133 from them all, exceeding dreadful, whose teeth were of ironH6523, and its nails of brass; which devouredH399, broke in pieces, and stamped the restH7606 with its feet; 20and concerningH5922 the tenH6236 hornsH7162 that were in its headH7217, and the other that came up, and before which threeH8532 fellH5308: even that hornH7162 that had eyesH5870, and a mouthH6433 speakingH4449 greatH7229 things, and whose look was moreH4481 imposing than its fellows. 21I beheld, and that hornH7162 made war with the saints, and prevailed over them; 22until the AncientH6268 of daysH3118 cameH858, and judgment was given to the saints of the most high [places]; and the appointedH2166 timeH2166 arrived, and the saints possessed the kingdomH4437. 23He saidH560 thus: The fourthH7244 beastH2423 shall be a fourthH7244 kingdomH4437 upon the earthH772, which shall be differentH8133 from all the kingdomsH4437, and shall devourH399 the whole earthH772, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces. 24And as to the tenH6236 hornsH7162, out of this kingdomH4437 shall ariseH6966 tenH6236 kingsH4430; and another shall ariseH6966 after them; and he shall be differentH8133 from the former, and he shall subdue threeH8532 kingsH4430. 25And he shall speakH4449 wordsH4406 against the MostH5943 HighH5943, and shall wear out the saints of the mostH5943 highH5943 [places], and think to changeH8133 seasons and the lawH1882; and they shall be given into his handH3028 until a timeH5732 and timesH2166 and a half timeH5732. 26And the judgment shall sit, and they shall take awayH5709 his dominionH7985, to consume and to destroyH7 it unto the endH5491. 27But the kingdomH4437 and the dominionH7985, and the greatnessH7238 of the kingdomsH4437 under the whole heavensH8065, shall be given to the peopleH5972 of the saints of the most high [places]. His kingdomH4437 is an everlasting kingdomH4437, and all dominionsH7985 shall serve and obey him. 28So far is the endH5491 of the matterH4406. As for me DanielH1841, my thoughtsH7476 much troubled me, and my countenance was changedH8133 in me; but I kept the matterH4406 in my heart.
