Daniel 11

“And IH589, in the firstH259 yearH8141 of DariusH1867 the MedeH4075, stood upH5975 to strengthenH2388 and protectH4581 him.

Now thenH6258, I will tellH5046 you the truthH571: ThreeH7969 moreH5750 kingsH4428 will ariseH5975 in PersiaH6539, and then a fourthH7243, who will beH6239 farH1419 richerH6238 than all the othersH3605. By the powerH2393 of his wealthH6239, he will stir upH5782 everyoneH3605 againstH853 the kingdomH4438 of GreeceH3120.1

Then a mightyH1368 kingH4428 will ariseH5975, who will ruleH4910 with greatH7227 authorityH4474 and doH6213 as he pleasesH7522. 4But as soon as he is establishedH5975, his kingdomH4438 will be broken upH7665 and parceledH2673 out toward the fourH702 windsH7307 of heavenH8064. It will notH3808 go to his descendantsH319, nor will itH3808 have the authorityH4915 with whichH834 he ruledH4910, becauseH3588 his kingdomH4438 will be uprootedH5428 and given to othersH312H905H428.

The kingH4428 of the SouthH5045 will grow strongH2388, but one ofH4480 his commandersH8269 will grow evenH5921 strongerH2388 and will ruleH4910 his own kingdomH4474 with greatH7227 authorityH4475.

AfterH7093 some yearsH8141 they will form an allianceH2266, and the daughterH1323 of the kingH4428 of the SouthH5045 will goH935 toH413 the kingH4428 of the NorthH6828 to sealH6213 the agreementH4339. But his daughter will notH3808 retainH6113 her position of powerH3581H2220, nor willH3808 his strengthH22202 endureH5975. At that timeH6256 sheH1931 will be given upH5414, along with her royal escortH935 and her fatherH32053 and the one who supported herH2388.

But one from her family lineH5342H83284 will rise upH5975 in his placeH3653, comeH935 againstH413 the armyH2428 of the kingH4428 of the NorthH6828, and enterH935 his fortressH4581, fightingH6213 and prevailingH2388. 8He will takeH935 evenH1571 their godsH430 captiveH7628 to EgyptH4714, withH5973 their metal imagesH5257H5973 and their preciousH2532 vesselsH3627 of silverH3701 and goldH2091. For some yearsH8141 heH1931 will stay awayH5975 from the kingH4428 of the NorthH6828, 9who will invadeH935 the realmH4438 of the kingH4428 of the SouthH5045 and then returnH7725 toH413 his own landH127.

But his sonsH1121 will stir up strifeH1624 and assembleH622 a greatH7227 armyH1995H2428, which will advance forcefullyH935, sweeping throughH5674 like a floodH7857, and will againH7725 carry the battleH1624 asH5704 far as his fortressH4581. 11In a rageH4843, the kingH4428 of the SouthH5045 will march outH3318 to fightH3898H5973 the kingH4428 of the NorthH6828, who will raiseH5975 a largeH7227 armyH1995, but itH1995 will be deliveredH5414 into the hand of hisH3027 enemy.

When the armyH1995 is carried offH5375, the king of the South will be proudH7311 in heartH3824 and will cast downH5307 tens of thousandsH7239, but he will notH3808 triumphH5810. 13For the kingH4428 of the NorthH6828 will raiseH5975 anotherH7725 armyH1995, largerH7227 thanH4480 the firstH7223, and afterH7093H6256 some yearsH81415 he will advanceH935 with a greatH1419 armyH2428 and manyH7227 suppliesH7399.

In thoseH1992 timesH6256 manyH7227 will rise upH5975 againstH5921 the kingH4428 of the SouthH5045. ViolentH6530 onesH1121 among your own peopleH5971 will exalt themselvesH5375 in fulfillmentH5975 of the visionH2377, but they will failH3782.

Then the kingH4428 of the NorthH6828 will comeH935, build upH8210 a siege rampH5550, and captureH3920 a fortifiedH4013 cityH5892. The forcesH2220 of the SouthH5045 will notH3808 standH5975; even their bestH4005 troopsH5971 will notH369 be ableH3581 to resistH5975. 16The invaderH935H413 will doH6213 as he pleasesH7522, and no oneH369 will standH5975 against himH6440. He will establish himselfH5975 in the BeautifulH6643 LandH776, with destructionH3617 in his handH3027. 17He will resolveH7760H6440 to comeH935 with the strengthH8633 of his wholeH3605 kingdomH4438, and will reach an agreementH3477H6213 withH5973 the king of the South. He will give him a daughterH1323 in marriageH802H5414 in order to overthrowH7843 the kingdom, but his plan will notH3808 succeedH5975 or helpH3808 him.6

Then he will turnH7725 his faceH6440 to the coastlandsH339 and captureH3920 many of themH7227. But a commanderH7101 will put an endH7673 to his reproachH2781 and will turn it backH2781H7725 upon him. 19After this, he will turn backH6440H7725 toward the fortressesH4581 of his own landH776, but he will stumbleH3782 and fallH5307 and be no moreH3808H4672.

InH5921 his placeH3653 one will ariseH5975 who will send outH5674 a tax collectorH5065 for the gloryH1925 of the kingdomH4438; but within a fewH259 daysH3117 he will be destroyedH7665, though notH3808 in angerH639H3808 or in battleH4421.

InH5921 his placeH3653 a despicable personH959 will ariseH5975; royalH4438 honorsH1935 will notH3808 be givenH5414 to himH5921, but he will comeH935 in a time of peaceH7962 and seizeH2388 the kingdomH4438 by intrigueH2519. 22Then a floodH7858 of forcesH2220 will be swept awayH7857 before himH6440 and destroyedH7665, along withH1571 a princeH5057 of the covenantH1285.

AfterH4480 an alliance is madeH2266 with himH413, he will actH6213 deceitfullyH4820; for he will riseH5927 to powerH6105 with only a fewH4592 peopleH1471. 24In a time of peaceH7962, he will invadeH935 the richestH4924 provincesH4082 and doH6213 whatH834 his fathersH1 and forefathersH1 neverH3808 didH6213. He will lavishH967 plunderH961, lootH7998, and wealthH7399 on his followers, and he will plotH2803H4284 againstH5921 the strongholdsH4013—but only forH5704 a timeH6256.

And with a largeH1419 armyH2428 he will stir upH5782 his powerH3581 and his courageH3824 againstH5921 the kingH4428 of the SouthH5045, who will mobilizeH1624H4421 a veryH5704H3966 largeH1419 and powerfulH6099 armyH2428 but will notH3808 withstandH5975 the plotsH4284 devisedH2803 against himH5921. 26Those who eatH398 from his provisionsH6598 will seek to destroy himH7665; his armyH2428 will be swept awayH7857, and manyH7227 will fallH5307 slainH2491.

And the twoH8147 kingsH4428, with their heartsH3824 bent on evilH4827, will speakH1696 liesH3577 atH5921 the sameH259 tableH7979, but to noH3808 availH6743, forH3588 stillH5750 the endH7093 will come at the appointed timeH4150. 28The king of the North will returnH7725 to his landH776 with greatH1419 wealthH7399, but his heartH3824 will be set againstH5921 the holyH6944 covenantH1285; so he will doH6213 damage and returnH7725 to his own landH776.

At the appointed timeH4150 he will invadeH935 the SouthH5045 againH7725, but this time will notH3808 beH1961 like the firstH7223H314. 30ShipsH6716 of KittimH37947 will comeH935 against him, and he will lose heartH3512. Then he will turn backH7725 and rageH2194 againstH5921 the holyH6944 covenantH1285 and doH6213 damage. So he will returnH7725 and show favorH995 toH5921 those who forsakeH5800 the holyH6944 covenantH1285. 31HisH4480 forcesH2220 will rise upH5975 and desecrateH2490 the templeH4720 fortressH4581. They will abolishH5493 the daily sacrificeH8548 and set upH5414 the abominationH8251 of desolationH8074.

With flatteryH2514 he will corruptH2610 those who violateH7561 the covenantH1285, but the peopleH5971 who knowH3045 their GodH430 will firmlyH2388 resistH6213 him. 33Those with insightH7919H5971 will instructH995 manyH7227, though for a timeH3117 they will fallH3782 by swordH2719 or flameH3852, or be capturedH7628 or plunderedH961.

Now when they fallH3782, they will be grantedH5826 a littleH4592 helpH5828, but manyH7227 will joinH3867 themH5921 insincerelyH2519. 35Some ofH4480 the wiseH7919 will fallH3782 so that they may be refinedH6884, purifiedH1305, and made spotlessH3835 untilH5704 the timeH6256 of the endH7093, forH3588 it will stillH5750 come at the appointed timeH4150.

The King Who Exalts Himself

Then the kingH4428 will doH6213 as he pleasesH7522 and will exaltH7311 and magnify himselfH1431 aboveH5921 everyH3605 godH410, and he will speakH1696 monstrous thingsH6381 againstH5921 the GodH410 of godsH410. He will be successfulH6743 untilH5704 the time of wrathH2195 is completedH3615, forH3588 what has been decreedH2782 must be accomplishedH6213. 37He will show no regardH3808H995 forH5921 the godsH430 of his fathersH1, norH5921 for the one desiredH2532 by womenH802, norH5921 for anyH3605 other godH433H3808H995, becauseH3588 he will magnify himselfH1431 aboveH5921 them allH3605.

And inH5921 their placeH3653, he will honorH3513 a godH433 of fortressesH4581—a godH433 his fathersH1H3513 did notH3808 knowH3045—with goldH2091, silverH3701, preciousH3368 stonesH68, and richesH2532. 39He will attackH6213 the strongest fortressesH4013H4581 withH5973 the help of a foreignH5236 godH433 and will greatlyH7235 honorH3519 those whoH834 acknowledge himH5234, making them rulersH4910 over manyH7227 and distributingH2505 the landH127 for a priceH4242.8

At the timeH6256 of the endH7093, the kingH4428 of the SouthH5045 will engage him in battleH5055H5973,9 but the kingH4428 of the NorthH6828 will storm outH8175 against himH5921 with chariotsH7393, horsemenH6571, and manyH7227 shipsH591, invadingH935 many countriesH776 and sweeping through themH5674 like a floodH7857. 41He will also invadeH935 the BeautifulH6643 LandH776, and manyH7227 countries will fallH3782. But theseH428 will be deliveredH4422 from his handH3027: EdomH123, MoabH4124, and the leadersH7225 of the AmmonitesH1121H5983.

He will extendH7971 his powerH3027 over many countriesH776, and not evenH3808H1961 the landH776 of EgyptH4714 will escapeH6413. 43He will gain controlH4910 of the treasuresH4362 of goldH2091 and silverH3701 and over allH3605 the richesH2532 of EgyptH4714, and the LibyansH3864 and CushitesH356910 will also submit to himH4703.

But newsH8052 from the eastH4217 and the northH6828 will alarm himH926, and he will go outH3318 with greatH1419 furyH2534 to destroyH8045 manyH7227 and devote them to destructionH2763.11 45He will pitchH5193 his royalH643 tentsH168 betweenH996 the seaH3220 and the beautifulH6643 holyH6944 mountainH2022, but he will meetH935H5704 his endH7093 with no oneH369 to helpH5826 him.
