Kings 8:33-53
WhenH834 thy peopleH5971 IsraelH3478 are put to the worse before the enemyH341, because they have sinnedH2398 against thee, and shall turnH7725 again to thee, and confessH3034 thy nameH8034, and prayH6419, and make supplication unto thee in this houseH1004;
then hearH8085 thou in the heavensH8064, and forgiveH5545 the sinH2403 of thy peopleH5971 IsraelH3478, and bringH7725 them again unto the landH127 that thou gavest unto their fathersH1.
When the heavensH8064 are shutH6113 up, and there is no rainH4306, because they have sinnedH2398 against thee; if they prayH6419 toward this placeH4725, and confessH3034 thy nameH8034, and turnH7725 from their sinH2398, because thou hast afflicted them;
then hearH8085 thou in the heavensH8064, and forgiveH5545 the sinH2403 of thy servantsH5650, and of thy peopleH5971 IsraelH3478, when thou teachest them the goodH2896 wayH1870 wherein they should walk; and giveH5414 rainH4306 upon thy landH776, which thou hast givenH5414 to thy peopleH5971 for an inheritanceH5159.
If there beH1961 famineH7458 in the landH776, if there beH1961 pestilenceH1698, if there beH1961 blightH7711, mildewH3420, locustH697, caterpillar; if their enemyH341 besiege them in the landH776 of their gatesH8179; whatever plagueH1698, whatever sicknessH4245 there beH1961:
what prayerH8605, what supplicationH8467 soever beH1961 madeH3045 by any manH376, of all thy peopleH5971 IsraelH3478, when they shall knowH3045 every manH376 the plagueH5061 of his own heartH3824, and shall spreadH6566 forth his handsH3709 toward this houseH1004;
then hearH8085 thou in the heavensH8064, the settled placeH4349 of thy dwellingH3427, and forgiveH5545, and do, and render unto every manH376 according to all his waysH1870, whose heartH3824 thou knowest (for thou, thou onlyH905, knowest the heartsH3824 of all the children of menH376),
that they may fearH3372 thee all the daysH3117 that they live upon the landH127 which thou gavest unto our fathersH1.
And as to the stranger alsoH1571, who is not of thy peopleH5971 IsraelH3478, but cometh out of a farH7350 country for thy name's sakeH4616
(for they shall hearH8085 of thy greatH1419 nameH8034, and of thy mightyH2389 handH3027, and of thy stretched-outH5186 armH2220); when he shall comeH935 and prayH6419 toward this houseH1004,
hearH8085 thou in the heavensH8064 thy dwelling-place, and do according to all that the stranger calleth to thee for; in order that all peoplesH5971 of the earthH776 may knowH3045 thy nameH8034, [and] that they may fearH3372 thee as do thy peopleH5971 IsraelH3478; and that they may knowH3045 that this houseH1004 which I have builtH1129 is calledH7121 by thy nameH8034.
If thy peopleH5971 goH3318 out to battleH4421 against their enemyH341, by the wayH1870 that thou shalt sendH7971 them, and they prayH6419 to Jehovah toward the cityH5892 that thou hast chosenH977, and the houseH1004 that I have builtH1129 unto thy nameH8034;
then hearH8085 thou in the heavensH8064 their prayerH8605 and their supplicationH8467, and maintain their rightH4941.
If they have sinnedH2398 against thee, (for there is no manH120 that sinneth not,) and thou be angryH599 with them, and giveH5414 them up to the enemyH341, and they have carried them away captivesH7617 unto the enemy's landH776, farH7350 or near;
and if they shall take it to heartH3820 in the landH776 whither they were carried captiveH7617, and repent, and make supplication unto thee in the landH776 of them that carried them captiveH7617, sayingH559, We have sinnedH2398, and have done iniquity, we have dealt perversely;
and if they returnH7725 unto thee with all their heartH3824 and with all their soulH5315, in the landH776 of their enemiesH341 who led them awayH7725 captiveH7617, and prayH6419 unto thee toward their landH776 which thou gavest unto their fathersH1, the cityH5892 that thou hast chosenH977, and the houseH1004 that I have builtH1129 unto thy nameH8034;
then hearH8085 thou in the heavensH8064, the settled placeH4349 of thy dwellingH3427, their prayerH8605 and their supplicationH8467, and maintain their rightH4941;
and forgiveH5545 thy peopleH5971 their sinH2398 against thee, and all their transgressionsH6588 whereby they have transgressedH6586 against thee, and giveH5414 them to find compassionH7355 with those who carried them captiveH7617, that they may have compassionH7355 on them
(for they are thy peopleH5971, and thine inheritanceH5159, which thou broughtest forthH3318 out of EgyptH4714, from the midstH8432 of the furnaceH3564 of ironH1270) —
thine eyesH5869 being openH6605 unto the supplicationH8467 of thy servantH5650, and unto the supplicationH8467 of thy peopleH5971 IsraelH3478, to hearken unto them in all that they callH7121 for unto thee.
For thou hast separatedH914 them from among all peoplesH5971 of the earthH776, to be thine inheritanceH5159, as thou spokest through MosesH4872 thy servantH5650, when thou broughtest our fathersH1 out of EgyptH4714, O LordH136 Jehovah.
