1 John 3:1-14

2BelovedG27, nowG3568 areG1510 we childrenG5043 of 2GodG2316, and what we shall beG1510 has not yet beenG1510 manifestedG5319; we know that if it isG1510 manifestedG5319 we shall beG1510 like him, for we shall seeG3708 him as he isG1510.

3And every one that has this hopeG1680 in him purifiesG48 himself, evenG2532 as he isG1510 pureG53.

4Every oneG3588 that practises sinG266 practises alsoG2532 lawlessnessG458; and sinG266 isG1510 lawlessnessG458.

5And ye know that he has beenG1510 manifestedG5319 that he might takeG142 awayG142 our sinsG266; and in him sinG266 isG1510 not.

6Whoever abidesG3306 in him, does not sinG264: whoever sinsG264, has not seenG3708 him or knownG1097 him.

7ChildrenG5040, let no manG1342 lead you astrayG4105; he that practises righteousnessG1343 isG1510 righteousG1342, even as he isG1510 righteousG1342.

8He that practises sinG266 isG1510 of the devilG1228; for from [the] beginning the devilG1228 sinsG266. To this end the SonG5207 of 3GodG2316 has beenG1510 manifestedG5319, that he might undo the worksG2041 of the devilG1228.

9Whoever has been begottenG1080 of 4GodG2316 does not practise sinG266, because his seedG4690 abidesG3306 in him, and he cannot sinG266, because he has been begottenG1080 of 5GodG2316.

10In this areG1510 manifest the childrenG5043 of 6GodG2316 and the childrenG5043 of the devilG1228. Whoever does not practise righteousnessG1343 isG1510 not of 7GodG2316, and he who does not loveG25 his brotherG80.

11For this isG1510 the messageG31 which ye have heardG191 from the beginning, that we should loveG25 oneG240 another:

12not as CainG2535 wasG1510 of the wickedG4190 oneG3588, and slew his brotherG80; and on account of what slew he him? because his worksG2041 wereG1510 wickedG4190, and those of his brotherG80 righteousG1342.

13Do not wonderG2296, brethren, if the worldG2889 hateG3404 you.

14We know that we have passed from deathG2288 to lifeG2222, because we loveG25 the brethren. He who does not loveG25 [his] brotherG80 abidesG3306 in deathG2288.
