1 John 3:1-14

1Behold what manner of loveG26 the FatherG3962 hath bestowed upon us, that we should beG1510 calledG2564 childrenG5043 of GodG2316; and such we areG1510. For this cause the worldG2889 knoweth us not, because it knewG1097 him not. 2BelovedG27, nowG3568 areG1510 we childrenG5043 of GodG2316, and it isG1510 not yet madeG5319 manifestG5319 what we shall beG1510. We know that, if he shall beG1510 manifestedG5319, we shall beG1510 like him; for we shall seeG3708 him evenG2532 as he isG1510. 3And every one that hath this hopeG1680 set on him purifieth himself, evenG2532 as he isG1510 pureG53. 4Every oneG3588 that doeth sinG266 doeth alsoG2532 lawlessnessG458; and sinG266 isG1510 lawlessnessG458. 5And ye know that he wasG1510 manifestedG5319 to takeG142 awayG142 sinsG266; and in him isG1510 no sinG266. 6Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seenG3708 him, neither knoweth him. 7My littleG5040 children, let no manG1342 lead you astrayG4105: he that doeth righteousnessG1343 isG1510 righteousG1342, even as he isG1510 righteousG1342: 8he that doeth sinG266 isG1510 of the devilG1228; for the devilG1228 sinneth from the beginning. To this end wasG1510 the SonG5207 of GodG2316 manifestedG5319, that he might destroyG3089 the worksG2041 of the devilG1228. 9Whosoever is begottenG1080 of GodG2316 doeth no sinG266, because his seedG4690 abideth in him: and he cannot sinG266, because he is begottenG1080 of GodG2316. 10In this the childrenG5043 of GodG2316 areG1510 manifest, and the childrenG5043 of the devilG1228: whosoever doeth not righteousnessG1343 isG1510 not of GodG2316, neither he that loveth not his brotherG80. 11For this isG1510 the messageG31 which ye heardG191 from the beginning, that we should loveG25 oneG240 another: 12not as CainG2535 wasG1510 of the evilG4190 oneG3588, and slew his brotherG80. And wherefore slew he him? Because his worksG2041 wereG1510 evilG4190, and his brother’sG80 righteousG1342.

13MarvelG2296 not, brethren, if the worldG2889 hateth you. 14We know that we have passed out of deathG2288 into lifeG2222, because we loveG25 the brethren. He that loveth not abideth in deathG2288.
