Ezekiel 47
Berean Standard Bible
Waters from under the Temple
1Then the man brought me backH7725 toH413 the entranceH6607 of the templeH1004, and I sawH2009 waterH4325 flowingH3318 from underH8478 the thresholdH4670 of the templeH1004 toward the eastH6921 (forH3588 the templeH1004 facedH6440 eastH6921). The waterH4325 was coming downH3381 from underH8478 the southH3233 sideH3802 of the templeH1004, southH5045 of the altarH4196.
2Next he brought me outH3318 throughH1870 the northH6828 gateH8179 and led me aroundH5437H1870 the outsideH2351 toH413 the outerH2351H1870 gateH8179 facingH6437 eastH6921, and there I sawH2009 the waterH4325 trickling outH6379 fromH4480 the southH3233 sideH3802.
3As the manH376 wentH3318 eastwardH6921 with a measuring lineH6957 in his handH3027, he measured offH4058 a thousandH505 cubitsH5201 and led me throughH5674 ankle-deepH657 waterH4325.
4Then he measured offH4058 a thousandH505 cubits and led me throughH5674 knee-deepH1290 waterH4325.
Again he measuredH4325H4058 a thousandH505 cubits and led me throughH5674 waist-deepH4975 waterH4325.
5Once again he measured offH4058 a thousandH505 cubits, but now it was a riverH5158 thatH834 I couldH3201 notH3808 crossH5674, becauseH3588 the waterH4325 had risenH1342 and was deep enough for swimmingH7813—a riverH5158 thatH834 could notH3808 be crossed on footH5674.
6“SonH1121 of manH120, do you see thisH7200?” he askedH559H413. Then he led meH1980 backH7725 to the bankH8193 of the riverH5158.
7When I arrivedH7725, I sawH2009H413 a greatH3966 number ofH7227 treesH6086 along bothH2088 banksH8193 of the riverH5158. 8And he saidH559 to meH413, “ThisH428 waterH4325 flows outH3318 toH413 the easternH6930 regionH1552 and goes downH3381 intoH5921 the ArabahH6160. When it emptiesH935 intoH413 the Dead SeaH3220,2 the water thereH4325 becomes freshH7495.3 9WhereverH413H3605 the riverH5158 flowsH935, there will beH1961 swarmsH3605H834H8317 of livingH5315 creaturesH2416 and a great number ofH7227H3966 fishH1710, becauseH3588 it flowsH935 thereH8033 and makes the waters freshH7495; so whereverH834 the riverH5158 flowsH935, everythingH3605 will flourishH2421.
FishermenH1728 will standH5975 by the shoreH5921; from En-gediH5872 toH5704 En-eglaimH5882 they willH1961 spreadH4894 their netsH2764 to catch fishH1710 of manyH7227H3966 kindsH4327H1961, like the fishH1710 of the GreatH1419 SeaH3220.4
11But the swampsH1207 and marshesH1360 will notH3808 become freshH7495; they will be leftH5414 for saltH4417.
12AlongH5921 bothH2088 banksH8193 of the riverH5158, fruitH3978 treesH6086 of all kindsH3605 will growH5927. Their leavesH5929 will notH3808 witherH5034, and their fruitH6529 will notH3808 failH8552. Each monthH2320 they will bear fruitH1069, becauseH3588 the waterH4325 fromH4480 the sanctuaryH4720 flows to themH3318H1992. Their fruitH6529 will be usedH1961 for foodH3978 and their leavesH5929 for healingH8644.”
The Borders of the Land
13This is whatH3541 the LordH136 GODH3069 saysH559: “TheseH1454 are the boundariesH1366 by whichH834 you are to divide the landH776 as an inheritanceH5157 among the twelveH8147H6240 tribesH7626 of IsraelH3478; JosephH3130 shall receive two portionsH2256.5 14You are to divideH5157 itH853 equallyH376 among themH251. BecauseH834 I swore with an upliftedH5375 handH3027 to giveH5414 it to your forefathersH1, thisH2063 landH776 will fallH5307 to you as an inheritanceH5159.
15ThisH2088 shall be the boundaryH1366 of the landH776:
16On the northH6828 sideH6285 it will extend fromH4480 the GreatH1419 SeaH3220 by wayH1870 of HethlonH2855 through Lebo-hamathH935 to ZedadH6657, BerothahH1268, and SibraimH54536 (whichH834 is onH996 the border betweenH1366 DamascusH1834H996 and HamathH2574), as far as Hazer-hatticonH2694, whichH834 is onH413 the borderH1366 of HauranH2362. 17So the borderH1366 will runH1961 fromH4480 the SeaH3220 to Hazar-enanH2703, along the northernH6828 borderH1366 of DamascusH1834, with the territoryH1366 of HamathH2574 to the northH6828. This will be the northernH6828 boundaryH6285. 18On the eastH6921 sideH6285 the borderH1366 will run betweenH996 HauranH2362 andH996 DamascusH1834, along the JordanH3383 betweenH996 GileadH1568H996 and the landH776 of IsraelH3478, toH5921 the EasternH6931 SeaH3220 andH853 as far as TamarH8559.7 This will be the easternH6921 boundaryH6285. 19On the southH5045H8486 sideH6285 it will run from TamarH8559 toH5704 the watersH4325 of Meribath-kadeshH4809H6946, and along the BrookH5158 of Egypt8 toH413 the GreatH1419 SeaH3220. This will be the southernH8486H5045 boundaryH6285. 20And on the westH3220 sideH6285, the GreatH1419 SeaH3220 will be the boundaryH1366 up toH5704 a point oppositeH5227 Lebo-hamathH935H2574. ThisH2063 will be the westernH3220 boundaryH6285.
21You are to divideH2505 thisH2063 landH776 among yourselves according to the tribesH7626 of IsraelH3478. 22You shall allotH1961H5307 itH853 as an inheritanceH5159 for yourselves and for the foreignersH1616 who dwellH1481 among youH8432 and whoH834 haveH3205 childrenH1121. You are to treat themH1961 as native-bornH249 IsraelitesH1121H3478; along with youH854, they shall be allottedH5307 an inheritanceH5159 amongH8432 the tribesH7626 of IsraelH3478. 23In whateverH834 tribeH7626 a foreignerH1616H854 dwellsH1481, you are to assignH5414 his inheritanceH5159 thereH8033,” declaresH5002 the LordH136 GODH3069.
