A Prophecy against the Ruler of Tyre

1And the wordH1697 of the LORDH3068 cameH1961 to meH413, sayingH559, 2“SonH1121 of manH120, tellH559 the rulerH5057 of TyreH6865 that this is whatH3541 the LordH136 GODH3069H3282 saysH559:

Your heartH3820 is proudH1361,and you have saidH559,‘IH589 am a godH410;I sitH3427 in the seatH4186 of godsH430in the heartH3820 of the seaH3220.’Yet youH859 are a manH120 and notH3808 a godH410,though you have regardedH5414 your heartH3820as thatH3820 of a godH430.
3BeholdH2009, youH859 are wiserH2450 than DanielH1840H3605;noH3808 secretH5640 is hidden from youH6004!4By your wisdomH2451 and understandingH8394you have gainedH6213 your wealthH2428and amassedH6213 goldH2091 and silverH3701for your treasuriesH214.5By your greatH7230 skillH2451 in tradingH7404you have increasedH7235 your wealthH2428,but your heartH3824 has grown proudH1361because ofH2428 it.
6ThereforeH3651 this is whatH3541 the LordH136 GODH3069 saysH559:
BecauseH3282 you regardH5414 your heartH3824as the heartH3820 of a godH430,7beholdH2005, I will bringH935 foreignersH2114 against youH5921,the most ruthlessH6184 of nationsH1471.They will drawH7324 their swordsH2719againstH5921 the beautyH3308 of your wisdomH2451and will defileH2490 your splendorH3314.8They will bring you downH3381 to the PitH7845,and you will dieH4463 a violentH2491 deathH4191in the heartH3820 of the seasH3220.
9Will you still sayH559, ‘IH589 am a godH430,’in the presenceH6440 of those who slay youH2026?YouH859 will be only a manH120, notH3808 a godH410,in the handsH3027 of those who wound youH2490.10You will dieH4191 the deathH4194 of the uncircumcisedH6189at the handsH3027 of foreignersH2114.
ForH3588 IH589 have spokenH1696,declaresH5002 the LordH136 GODH3069.”

A Lament for the King of Tyre

11Again the wordH1697 of the LORDH3068 cameH1961 to meH413, sayingH559, 12“SonH1121 of manH120, take upH5375 a lamentH7015 forH5921 the kingH4428 of TyreH6865 and tellH559 him that this is whatH3541 the LordH136 GODH3069 saysH559:

‘YouH859 were the sealH2856 of perfectionH8508,full ofH4392 wisdomH2451 and perfectH3632 in beautyH3308.13You wereH1961 in EdenH5731,the gardenH1588 of GodH430.Every kindH3605 of preciousH3368 stoneH68 adorned youH4540:1rubyH124, topazH6357, and diamondH3095,berylH8658, onyxH7718, and jasperH3471,sapphireH5601,2 turquoiseH5306, and emeraldH1304.Your mountingsH5345 and settingsH8596 were craftedH4399 in goldH2091,preparedH3559 on the dayH3117 of your creationH1254.
14YouH859 were anointedH4473 as a guardianH5526 cherubH3742,for I had ordained youH5414.You wereH1961 on the holyH6944 mountainH2022 of GodH430;you walkedH1980 amongH8432 the fieryH784 stonesH68.15From the dayH3117 you were createdH1254youH859 were blamelessH8549 in your waysH1870—untilH5704 wickednessH5766 was foundH4672 in you.
16By the vastnessH7230 of your tradeH7404,youH8432 were filledH4390 with violenceH2555, and you sinnedH2398.So I drove you in disgraceH2490from the mountainH2022 of GodH430,and I banished youH6, O guardianH5526 cherubH3742,from amongH8432 the fieryH784 stonesH68.17Your heartH3820 grew proudH1361 of your beautyH3308;you corruptedH7843 your wisdomH2451 becauseH5921 of your splendorH3314;so I cast youH7993 toH5921 the earthH776;I made youH5414 a spectacleH7200 beforeH6440 kingsH4428.
18By the multitudeH7230 of your iniquitiesH5771and the dishonestyH5766 of your tradingH7404you have profanedH2490 your sanctuariesH4720.So I made fireH784 comeH3318 from within youH8432,and itH1931 consumed youH398.I reducedH5414 you to ashesH665 onH5921 the groundH776in the eyesH5869 of allH3605 who saw youH7200.19AllH3605 the nationsH5971 who know youH3045are appalledH8074 over youH5921.You have comeH1961 to a horrible endH1091and will be no moreH369H5704H5769.’”

A Prophecy against Sidon

20Then the wordH1697 of the LORDH3068 cameH1961 to meH413, sayingH559, 21“SonH1121 of manH120, setH7760 your faceH6440 againstH413 SidonH6721 and prophesyH5012 against herH5921. 22And you are to declareH559 that this is whatH3541 the LordH136 GODH3069 saysH559:

‘BeholdH2005, I am against youH5921, O SidonH6721,and I will be glorifiedH3513 within youH8432.They will knowH3045 thatH3588 IH589 am the LORDH3068when I executeH6213 judgmentsH8201 against herand demonstrate My holinessH6942 through her.23I will sendH7971 a plagueH1698 against herand shed bloodH1818 in her streetsH2351;the slainH2491 will fallH5307 within herH8432,while the swordH2719 is against herH5921 on every sideH5439.
Then they will knowH3045 thatH3588 IH589 am the LORDH3068.

24For the peopleH1004 of IsraelH3478 willH1961 noH3808 longer faceH5750 a prickingH3992 brierH5544 or a painfulH3510 thornH6975 from allH3605 around themH5439 who treat them with contemptH7590. Then they will knowH3045 thatH3588 IH589 am the LordH136 GODH3069.’

The Restoration of Israel

(Jeremiah 30:1–17)

25This is whatH3541 the LordH136 GODH3069 saysH559: ‘When I gatherH6908 the houseH1004 of IsraelH3478 fromH4480 the peoplesH5971 among whomH834 they have been scatteredH6327, I will show Myself holyH6942 among them in the sightH5869 of the nationsH1471.

Then they will dwellH3427 inH5921 their own landH127, whichH834 I have givenH5414 to My servantH5650 JacobH3290. 26And there they will dwellH3427H5921 securelyH983, buildH1129 housesH1004, and plantH5193 vineyardsH3754. They will dwellH3427 securelyH983 when I executeH6213 judgmentsH8201 against allH3605 those around themH5439 who treat them with contemptH7590. Then they will knowH3045 thatH3588 IH589 am the LORDH3068 their GodH430.’”
