Consecration of the Land

1“When you divide the landH776 by lotH5307 as an inheritanceH5159, you are to set asideH7311 a portionH8641 for the LORDH3068, a holyH6944 portion ofH4480 the landH776 25,000H2568H6242H505H753 cubits longH753 and 20,000H6235H505 cubits wideH7341.1 ThisH1931 entireH3605 tract of landH1366H5439 will be holyH6944.

2Within this areaH2088 there is to beH1961 a section forH413 the sanctuaryH6944 500H2568H3967 cubits squareH7251,2 with 50H2572 cubitsH5203 around itH5439 for open landH4054.

3FromH4480 thisH2063 holy portionH4060, you are to measure offH4058 a lengthH753 of 25,000H2568H6242H505 cubits and a widthH7341 of 10,000H6235H505 cubits,4 and in it will beH1961 the sanctuaryH4720, the MostH6944 HolyH6944 Place.5 4It will beH1961 a holy portionH6944 ofH4480 the landH776H1931 to be used by the priestsH3548 who ministerH8334 in the sanctuaryH4720, who draw nearH7131 to minister beforeH8334 the LORDH3068. It will beH1961 a placeH4725 for their housesH1004, as well as a holy areaH4720 for the sanctuaryH4720.

5An adjacent area 25,000H2568H6242H505 cubits longH753 and 10,000H6235H505 cubits wideH7341 shall belongH1961 to the LevitesH3881 who ministerH8334 in the templeH1004; it will be their possessionH272 for towns in which to liveH6242H3957.6

6As the propertyH272 of the cityH5892, you are to set asideH5414 an area 5,000H2568H505 cubits wideH7341 and 25,000H2568H6242H505 cubits longH753,7 adjacent toH5980 the holyH6944 districtH8641. It will belong toH1961 the wholeH3605 houseH1004 of IsraelH3478.

The Prince’s Portion

7Now the princeH5387 will have the areaH2088 borderingH6440 each side of the area formed byH2088 the holyH6944 districtH8641 and the propertyH272 of the cityH5892, extending westwardH3220 from the westernH3220 sideH6285 and eastwardH6921 from the easternH6924 sideH6285, running lengthwiseH753 from the westernH3220H413 boundaryH1366 to the easternH6921 boundaryH1366 and parallel toH5980 oneH259 of the tribal portionsH2506. 8This landH776 will beH1961 his possessionH272 in IsraelH3478.

And My princesH5387 will noH3808 longerH5750 oppressH3238 My peopleH5971, but will giveH5414 the rest of the landH776 to the houseH1004 of IsraelH3478 according to their tribesH7626. 9For this is whatH3541 the LordH136 GODH3069 saysH559: ‘EnoughH7227, O princesH5387 of IsraelH3478! CeaseH5493 your violenceH2555 and oppressionH7701, and doH6213 what is justH4941 and rightH6666. StopH7311 dispossessingH1646H5921 My peopleH5971, declaresH5002 the LordH136 GODH3069.’

Honest Scales

(Deuteronomy 25:13–16; Proverbs 11:1–3)

10You must useH1961 honestH6664 scalesH3976, a justH6664 ephahH374,8 and a justH6664 bathH1324.9

11The ephahH374 and the bathH1324 shall beH1961 the sameH259 quantityH8506 so that the bathH1324 will containH5375 a tenthH4643 of a homerH2563, and the ephahH374 a tenthH6224 of a homerH2563; the homerH2563 will beH1961 the standard measureH4971 for both.10

12The shekelH8255 will consist of twentyH6242 gerahsH1626.11 TwentyH6242 shekelsH8255 plus twenty-fiveH6242H2568 shekelsH8255 plus fifteenH6235H2568 shekelsH8255 will equalH1961 one minaH4488.12

Offerings and Feasts

13ThisH2063 is the contributionH8641 you are to offerH7311: a sixthH8345 of an ephahH374 from each homerH2563 of wheatH2406, and a sixthH8341 of an ephahH374 from each homerH2563 of barleyH8184.13 14The prescribed portionH2706 of oilH8081, measured by the bathH1324H8081, is a tenthH4643 of a bathH1324 fromH4480 each corH373414 (a cor consists of tenH6235 bathsH1324 or one homerH2563, sinceH3588 tenH6235 bathsH1324 are equivalent to a homerH2563). 15AndH4480 oneH259 sheep shall be givenH7716 from each flockH6629 ofH4480 two hundredH3967 from the well-watered pasturesH4945 of IsraelH3478. These are for the grain offeringsH4503, burnt offeringsH5930, and peace offeringsH8002, to make atonementH3722 for the peopleH5921, declaresH5002 the LordH136 GODH3069.

16AllH3605 the peopleH5971 of the landH776 must participateH1961 inH413 thisH2063 contributionH8641 for the princeH5387 in IsraelH3478. 17AndH5921 it shall beH1961 the prince’sH5387 part to provide the burnt offeringsH5930, grain offeringsH4503, and drink offeringsH5262 for the feastsH2282, New MoonsH2320, and SabbathsH7676—for allH3605 the appointed feastsH4150 of the houseH1004 of IsraelH3478. HeH1931 will provideH6213 the sin offeringsH2403,15 grain offeringsH4503, burnt offeringsH5930, and peace offeringsH8002 to make atonementH3722 forH1157 the houseH1004 of IsraelH3478.

18This is whatH3541 the LordH136 GODH3069 saysH559: ‘On the first dayH259 of the first monthH7223 you are to takeH3947 a young bullH6499H1121H1241 without blemishH8549 and purifyH2398 the sanctuaryH4720. 19And the priestH3548 is to takeH3947 some of the bloodH1818 from the sin offeringH2403 and putH5414 it onH413 the doorpostsH4201 of the templeH1004, onH413 the fourH702 cornersH6438 of the ledgeH5835 of the altarH4196, and onH5921 the gatepostsH4201H8179 of the innerH6442 courtH2691. 20You must doH6213 the same thingH3651 on the seventhH7651 day of the monthH2320 for anyoneH376 who strays unintentionallyH7686 or in ignoranceH6612. In this way you will make atonementH3722 for the templeH1004.

21On the fourteenthH702H6240 dayH3117 of the first monthH7223 you are to observeH1961 the PassoverH6453, a feastH2282 of sevenH7620 daysH3117, during which unleavened breadH4682 shall be eatenH398. 22On thatH1931 dayH3117 the princeH5387 shall provideH6213 a bullH6499 as a sin offeringH2403 for himselfH1157 and forH1157 allH3605 the peopleH5971 of the landH776. 23Each dayH3117 during the sevenH7651 daysH3117 of the feastH2282, he shall provideH6213 sevenH7651 bullsH6499 and sevenH7651 ramsH352 without blemishH8549 as a burnt offeringH5930 to the LORDH3068, along with a male goatH8163H5795 for a sin offeringH2403. 24He shall also provideH6213 as a grain offeringH4503 an ephahH374 for each bullH6499 and an ephahH374 for each ramH352, along with a hinH1969 of olive oilH8081 for each ephahH374 of grain.16 25During the sevenH7651 daysH3117 of the feastH2282 that begins on the fifteenthH2568H6240 dayH3117 of the seventhH7637 monthH2320,17 he is to make the same provisionH6213H428 for sin offeringsH2403, burnt offeringsH5930, grain offeringsH4503, and oilH8081.’
