God’s Glory Exits the Temple

1And I lookedH7200 and sawH2009 aboveH413 the expanseH7549, aboveH5921 the headsH7218 of the cherubimH3742, the likenessH1823 of a throneH3678 of sapphireH5601H4758H68. 2And the LORD saidH559 toH413 the manH376 clothedH3847 in linenH906, “GoH935 insideH413 the wheelworkH1534H413 beneathH8478 the cherubimH3742. FillH4390 your handsH2651 with burning coalsH1513H784 from amongH996 the cherubimH3742 and scatter themH2236 overH5921 the cityH5892.” And as I watchedH5869, he went inH935.

3Now when the manH376 went inH935, the cherubimH3742 were standingH5975 on the south sideH3225 of the templeH1004, and a cloudH6051 filledH4390 the innerH6442 courtH2691. 4Then the gloryH3519 of the LORDH3068 roseH7311 from aboveH5921 the cherubimH3742 and stood overH5921 the thresholdH4670 of the templeH1004. The templeH1004 was filledH4390 with the cloudH6051, and the courtH2691 was filledH4390 with the brightnessH5051 of the gloryH3519 of the LORDH3068. 5The soundH6963 of the wingsH3671 of the cherubimH3742 could be heardH8085 asH5704 far as the outerH2435 courtH2691, like the voiceH6963 of GodH410 AlmightyH77061 when He speaksH1696.

6WhenH1961 the LORD commandedH6680 the manH376 clothedH3847 in linenH906, sayingH559, “TakeH3947 fireH784 from withinH996 the wheelworkH1534, from amongH996 the cherubimH3742,” the man went inH935 and stoodH5975 besideH681 a wheelH212. 7Then one of the cherubimH3742 reached outH7971 his handH3027 and tookH5375 some of the fireH784 thatH834 was amongH996 them. And he put itH5414 intoH413 the handsH2651 of the man clothedH3847 in linenH906, who received itH3947 and went outH3318. 8(The cherubimH3742 appearedH7200 to have the formH8403 of humanH120 handsH3027 underH8478 their wingsH3671.)

9Then I lookedH7200 and sawH2009 fourH702 wheelsH212 besideH681 the cherubimH3742, oneH259 wheelH212 besideH681 eachH259 cherubH3742. And the wheelsH212 gleamedH5869 like a berylH8658 stoneH68. 10As for their appearanceH4758, all fourH702 had the sameH259 formH1823, likeH834H1961 a wheelH212 withinH8432 a wheelH212. 11When they movedH1980, they would goH1980 inH413 any of the fourH702 directionsH7253, withoutH3808 turningH5437 as they movedH1980. ForH3588 whereverH4725 the headH7218 facedH6437, the cherubim would goH1980 in that directionH310, withoutH3808 turningH5437 as they movedH1980.

12Their entireH3605 bodiesH1320, including their backsH1354, handsH3027, and wingsH3671, were full ofH4392 eyesH5869 all aroundH5439, as were their fourH702 wheelsH212. 13I heardH241 the wheelsH212 being calledH7121 “the whirling wheelsH1534.”

14EachH259 of the cherubim had fourH702 facesH6440: the firstH259 faceH6440 was thatH6440 of a cherubH3742, the secondH8145 thatH6440 of a manH120, the thirdH7992 thatH6440 of a lionH738, and the fourthH7243H6440 thatH6440 of an eagleH5404.

15Then the cherubimH3742 rose upwardH7426. TheseH1931 were the living creaturesH2416 I had seenH7200 by the RiverH5104 KebarH3529. 16When the cherubimH3742 movedH1980, the wheelsH212 movedH1980 beside themH681, and even when they spreadH5375 their wingsH3671 to riseH7311 fromH5921 the groundH776, the wheelsH212 did notH3808 veer awayH5437 from their sideH681. 17When the cherubim stood stillH5975, the wheels also stood stillH5975, and when they ascendedH7311, the wheels ascendedH7426 with themH854, forH3588 the spiritH7307 of the living creaturesH2416 was in the wheels.

18Then the gloryH3519 of the LORDH3068 moved awayH3318 fromH5921 the thresholdH4670 of the templeH1004 and stoodH5975 aboveH5921 the cherubimH3742. 19As I watchedH5869, the cherubimH3742 liftedH5375 their wingsH3671 and rose upH7426 fromH4480 the groundH776, with the wheelsH212 beside themH5980 as they wentH3318. And they stoppedH5975 at the entranceH6607 of the eastH6931 gateH8179 of the houseH1004 of the LORDH3068, with the gloryH3519 of the GodH430 of IsraelH3478 aboveH5921 themH4605.

20TheseH1931 were the living creaturesH2416 I had seenH7200 beneathH8478 the GodH430 of IsraelH3478 by the RiverH5104 KebarH3529, and I knewH3045 thatH3588 theyH1992 were cherubimH3742. 21EachH259H702 had fourH702 facesH6440 andH259 fourH702 wingsH3671, with what looked likeH1823 humanH120 handsH3027 underH8478 their wingsH3671. 22Their facesH6440H1992 looked likeH1823 the facesH6440 I had seenH7200 byH5921 the RiverH5104 KebarH3529H4758. EachH376 creature wentH1980 straight aheadH413H5676H6440.
