Egypt Will Fall like Assyria
In the eleventhH259H6240 yearH8141, on the firstH259 dayH2320 of the third monthH7992, the wordH1697 of the LORDH3068 cameH1961 to meH413, sayingH559, 2“SonH1121 of manH120, sayH559 toH413 PharaohH6547 kingH4428 of EgyptH4714 and toH413 his multitudeH1995H413:
10ThereforeH3651 this is whatH3541 the LordH136 GODH3069 saysH559: ‘SinceH3282 it became greatH13613 in heightH6967 and setH5414 its topH6788H413 amongH996 the cloudsH5688,4 and it grew proudH7311H3824 on account of its heightH1363, 11I delivered itH5414 into the handH3027 of the rulerH352 of the nationsH1471, for himH6213 to dealH6213 with it according to its wickednessH7562. I have banished itH1644.
12ForeignersH2114, the most ruthlessH6184 of the nationsH1471, cut it downH3772 and left itH5203. Its branchesH1808 have fallenH5307 onH413 the mountainsH2022 and in everyH3605 valleyH1516; its boughsH6288 lay brokenH7665 in allH3605 the earth’sH776 ravinesH650. And allH3605 the peoplesH5971 of the earthH776 leftH3381 its shadeH6738 and abandoned itH5203.
13AllH3605 the birdsH5775 of the airH8064 nestedH7931 onH5921 its fallen trunkH4658, and allH3605 the beastsH2416 of the fieldH7704 livedH1961 amongH413 its boughsH6288. 14This happened so thatH4616 noH3808 otherH3605 treesH6086 by the watersH4325 would become greatH1361 in heightH6967 andH3808 setH5414 their topsH6788 amongH996 the cloudsH5688, and no otherH3808 well-wateredH8354H4325 treesH352 would reach themH5975 in heightH1363H3605. ForH3588 they have allH3605 been consignedH5414 to deathH4194, toH413 the depthsH8482 of the earthH776, amongH8432 the mortalsH1121H120H413 who descendH3381 to the PitH953.’
15This is whatH3541 the LordH136 GODH3069 saysH559: ‘On the dayH3117 it was brought downH3381 to SheolH7585, I caused mourningH56. I coveredH3680 the deepH8415 because of itH5921; I held backH4513 its riversH5104; its abundantH7227 watersH4325 were restrainedH3607. I made LebanonH3844 mournH6937 for itH5921, and allH3605 the treesH6086 of the fieldH7704 faintedH5969 because of itH5921. 16I made the nationsH1471 quakeH7493 at the soundH6963 of its downfallH4658, when I cast it downH3381 to SheolH7585 withH854 those who descendH3381 to the PitH953.
Then allH3605 the treesH6086 of EdenH5731, the choicestH4005 and bestH2896 of LebanonH3844, allH3605 the well-watered treesH8354H4325, were consoledH5162 in the earthH776 belowH8482. 17TheyH1992 tooH1571 descendedH3381 with itH854 to SheolH7585, toH413 those slainH2491 by the swordH2719. As its alliesH2220 they had livedH3427 in its shadeH6738 amongH8432 the nationsH1471.
WhoH4310 thenH3602 is like youH1819 in gloryH3519 and greatnessH1433 among the treesH6086 of EdenH5731? You also will be brought downH3381 to the depthsH8482 of the earthH776 to be withH854 the treesH6086 of EdenH5731H413. You will lieH7901 amongH8432 the uncircumcisedH6189, withH854 those slainH2491 by the swordH2719. ThisH1931 is PharaohH6547 and allH3605 his multitudeH1995, declaresH5002 the LordH136 GODH3069.’”
