1Then the LORD saidאָמַ֜ר'a.MarH559toוְאֶל־ve.'el-H413Mosesמֹשֶׁ֨הmo.ShehH4872, “Come upעֲלֵ֣ה'a.LehH5927toאֶל־'el-H413the LORDיְהוָ֗הYah.wehH3068—youאַתָּה֙'a.TahH859and Aaronוְאַהֲרֹן֙ve.'a.ha.RonH175,Nadabנָדָ֣בna.DavH5070and Abihuוַאֲבִיה֔וּאva.'a.vi.Hu'H30,and seventyוְשִׁבְעִ֖יםve.shiv.'ImH7657of Israel’sיִשְׂרָאֵ֑לYis.ra.'ElH3478eldersמִזִּקְנֵ֣יmi.zik.NeiH2205—and you are to worshipוְהִשְׁתַּחֲוִיתֶ֖םve.hish.ta.cha.vi.TemH7812at a distanceמֵרָחֹֽק׃me.ra.ChokH7350.

2Mosesמֹשֶׁ֤הmo.ShehH4872aloneלְבַדּוֹ֙ אֶל־le.va.Do 'el-H905 H413shall approachוְנִגַּ֨שׁve.ni.GashH5066the LORDיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068,but the othersוְהֵ֖םve.HemH1992must notלֹ֣אlo'H3808come nearיִגָּ֑שׁוּyi.Ga.shuH5066.And the peopleוְהָעָ֕םve.ha.'AmH5971may notלֹ֥אlo'H3808go upיַעֲל֖וּya.'a.LuH5927with himעִמּֽוֹ׃i.MoH5973.”

3When Mosesמֹשֶׁ֗הmo.ShehH4872cameוַיָּבֹ֣אvai.ya.Vo'H935and toldוַיְסַפֵּ֤רvay.sa.PerH5608the peopleלָעָם֙la.'AmH5971אֵ֚ת'etH853allכָּל־kol-H3605the wordsדִּבְרֵ֣יdiv.ReiH1697וְאֵ֖תve.'EtH853andכָּל־kol-H3605ordinancesהַמִּשְׁפָּטִ֑יםha.mish.pa.TimH4941of the LORDיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068, theyהָעָ֜םha.'AmH5971allכָּל־kol-H3605respondedוַיַּ֨עַןvai.Ya.'anH6030with oneאֶחָד֙ וַיֹּ֣אמְר֔וּ'e.Chad vai.Yo.me.RuH259 H559voiceק֤וֹלKolH6963: “Allכָּל־kol-H3605the wordsהַדְּבָרִ֛יםha.de.va.RimH1697thatאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834the LORDיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068has spokenדִּבֶּ֥רdi.BerH1696,we will doנַעֲשֶֽׂה׃na.'a.SehH6213.”

4And Mosesמֹשֶׁ֗הmo.ShehH4872אֵ֚ת'etH853wrote downוַיִּכְתֹּ֣בvai.yikh.ToH3789allכָּל־kol-H3605the wordsדִּבְרֵ֣יdiv.ReiH1697of the LORDיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068.Early the next morningבַּבֹּ֔קֶרba.Bo.kerH1242he got upוַיַּשְׁכֵּ֣םvai.yash.KemH7925and builtוַיִּ֥בֶןvai.Yi.venH1129an altarמִזְבֵּ֖חַmiz.Be.achH4196at the base ofתַּ֣חַתTa.chatH8478the mountainהָהָ֑רha.HarH2022,along with twelveוּשְׁתֵּ֤ים עֶשְׂרֵה֙u.she.Teim 'es.RehH8147 H6240pillarsמַצֵּבָ֔הma.tze.VahH4676for the twelveלִשְׁנֵ֥ים עָשָׂ֖רlish.Neim 'a.SarH8147 H6240tribesשִׁבְטֵ֥יshiv.TeiH7626of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃Yis.ra.'ElH3478.

5Then he sent outוַיִּשְׁלַ֗חvai.yish.LachH7971אֶֽת־'et-H853some young menנַעֲרֵי֙na.'a.ReiH5288of Israelבְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔לbe.Nei Yis.ra.'ElH3478 H1121,and they offeredוַיַּֽעֲל֖וּvai.ya.'a.LuH5927burnt offeringsעֹלֹ֑ת'o.LotH5930and sacrificedוַֽיִּזְבְּח֞וּvai.yiz.be.ChuH2076young bullsפָּרִֽים׃pa.RimH6499as peaceשְׁלָמִ֛יםshe.la.MimH8002offeringsזְבָחִ֧יםze.va.ChimH2077to the LORDלַיהוָ֖הla.Yah.wehH3068.

6Mosesמֹשֶׁה֙mo.ShehH4872tookוַיִּקַּ֤חvai.yi.KachH3947halfחֲצִ֣יcha.TziH2677of the bloodהַדָּ֔םha.DamH1818and putוַיָּ֖שֶׂםvai.Ya.semH7760itin bowlsבָּאַגָּנֹ֑תba.'a.ga.NotH101,and the other halfוַחֲצִ֣י הַדָּ֔םva.cha.Tzi ha.DamH2677 H1818he splatteredזָרַ֖קza.RakH2236onעַל־'al-H5921the altarהַמִּזְבֵּֽחַ׃ha.miz.Be.achH4196.

7Then he tookוַיִּקַּח֙vai.yi.KachH3947the Bookסֵ֣פֶרSe.ferH5612of the Covenantהַבְּרִ֔יתha.be.RitH1285and read itוַיִּקְרָ֖א בְּאָזְנֵ֣יvai.yik.Ra' be.'a.ze.NeiH7121 H241to the peopleהָעָ֑םha.'AmH5971,who repliedוַיֹּ֣אמְר֔וּvai.Yo.me.RuH559, “Allכֹּ֛לkolH3605thatאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834the LORDיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068has spokenדִּבֶּ֥רdi.BerH1696we will doנַעֲשֶׂ֥הna.'a.SehH6213,and we will be obedientוְנִשְׁמָֽע׃ve.nish.Ma'H8085.”

8So Mosesמֹשֶׁה֙mo.ShehH4872אֶת־'et-H853tookוַיִּקַּ֤חvai.yi.KachH3947the bloodהַדָּ֔םha.DamH1818,splatteredוַיִּזְרֹ֖קvai.yiz.RokH2236it onעַל־'al-H5921the peopleהָעָ֑םha.'AmH5971,and saidוַיֹּ֗אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “Thisהִנֵּ֤הhi.NehH2009is the bloodדַֽם־dam-H1818of the covenantהַבְּרִית֙ha.be.RitH1285thatאֲשֶׁ֨ר'a.SherH834the LORDיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068has madeכָּרַ֤תka.RatH3772with youעִמָּכֶ֔ם'i.ma.KhemH5973in accordance withעַ֥ל'alH5921allכָּל־kol-H3605theseהָאֵֽלֶּה׃ha.'E.lehH428wordsהַדְּבָרִ֖יםha.de.va.RimH1697.”

9Then Mosesמֹשֶׁ֖הmo.ShehH4872went upוַיַּ֥עַלvai.Ya.'alH5927with Aaronוְאַהֲרֹ֑ןve.'a.ha.RonH175,Nadabנָדָב֙na.DavH5070and Abihuוַאֲבִיה֔וּאva.'a.vi.Hu'H30,and seventyוְשִׁבְעִ֖יםve.shiv.'ImH7657of the eldersמִזִּקְנֵ֥יmi.zik.NeiH2205of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃Yis.ra.'ElH3478,

10and they sawוַיִּרְא֕וּvai.yir.'UH7200אֵ֖ת'etH853the Godאֱלֹהֵ֣י'e.lo.HeiH430of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֑לYis.ra.'ElH3478.Underוְתַ֣חַתve.Ta.chatH8478His feetרַגְלָ֗יוrag.LavH7272was a workכְּמַעֲשֵׂה֙ke.ma.'a.SehH4639like a pavementלִבְנַ֣תliv.NatH3843made of sapphireהַסַּפִּ֔יר וּכְעֶ֥צֶםha.sa.Pir u.khe.'E.tzemH5601 H6106,as clearלָטֹֽהַר׃la.To.harH2892as the sky itselfהַשָּׁמַ֖יִםha.sha.Ma.yimH8064.

11Butוְאֶל־ve.'el-H413Godהָ֣אֱלֹהִ֔יםha.'E.lo.HimH430did notלֹ֥אlo'H3808layשָׁלַ֖חsha.LachH7971His handיָד֑וֹya.DoH3027בְּנֵ֣יbe.NeiH1121on the noblesאֲצִילֵי֙'a.tzi.LeiH678of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478;they sawוַֽיֶּחֱזוּ֙vai.ye.che.ZuH2372Himאֶת־'et-H853,and they ateוַיֹּאכְל֖וּvai.yo.khe.LuH398and drankוַיִּשְׁתּֽוּ׃ סvai.yish.TuH8354.

12Then the LORDיְהוָ֜הYah.wehH3068saidוַיֹּ֨אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559toאֶל־'el-H413Mosesמֹשֶׁ֗הmo.ShehH4872, “Come upעֲלֵ֥ה'a.LehH5927to Meאֵלַ֛י'e.LaiH413on the mountainהָהָ֖רָהha.Ha.rahH2022and stayוֶהְיֵה־veh.yeh-H1961hereשָׁ֑םShamH8033,so that I may giveוְאֶתְּנָ֨הve.'e.te.NahH5414youאֶת־'et-H853the tabletsלֻחֹ֣תlu.ChotH3871of stoneהָאֶ֗בֶןha.'E.venH68,with the lawוְהַתּוֹרָה֙ve.ha.to.RahH8451and commandmentsוְהַמִּצְוָ֔הve.ha.mitz.VahH4687אֲשֶׁ֥ר'a.SherH834I have writtenכָּתַ֖בְתִּיka.Tav.tiH3789for their instructionלְהוֹרֹתָֽם׃le.ho.ro.TamH3384.”

13So Mosesמֹשֶׁ֔הmo.ShehH4872set outוַיָּ֣קָםvai.Ya.komH6965with Joshuaוִיהוֹשֻׁ֖עַvi.ho.Shu.a'H3091his attendantמְשָׁרְת֑וֹme.sha.re.ToH8334and went upוַיַּ֥עַל מֹשֶׁ֖הvai.Ya.'al mo.ShehH5927 H4872onאֶל־'el-H413the mountainהַ֥רharH2022of Godהָאֱלֹהִֽים׃ha.'E.lo.HimH430.

14Andוְאֶל־ve.'el-H413he saidאָמַר֙'a.MarH559to the eldersהַזְּקֵנִ֤יםha.ze.ke.NimH2205, “Waitשְׁבוּ־she.vu-H3427hereבָזֶ֔הva.ZehH2088for usuntilעַ֥ד'adH5704אֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834we returnנָשׁ֖וּבna.ShuvH7725to youאֲלֵיכֶ֑ם'a.lei.KhemH413.Aaronאַהֲרֹ֤ן'a.ha.RonH175and Hurוְחוּר֙ve.ChurH2354are hereוְהִנֵּ֨הve.hi.NehH2009with youעִמָּכֶ֔ם'i.ma.KhemH5973.Whoeverמִי־ בַ֥עַלmi- Va.'alH4310 H1167has a disputeדְּבָרִ֖יםde.va.RimH1697can goיִגַּ֥שׁyi.GashH5066to themאֲלֵהֶֽם׃'a.le.HemH413.”

15When Mosesמֹשֶׁ֖ה אֶל־mo.Sheh 'el-H4872 H413went upוַיַּ֥עַלvai.Ya.'alH5927on the mountainהָהָ֑רha.HarH2022,the cloudהֶעָנָ֖ןhe.'a.NanH6051אֶת־'et-H853covered itוַיְכַ֥ס הָהָֽר׃vay.Khas ha.HarH3680 H2022,

16and the gloryכְּבוֹד־ke.Vod-H3519of the LORDיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068settledוַיִּשְׁכֹּ֤ןvai.yish.KonH7931onעַל־'al-H5921Mountהַ֣רharH2022Sinaiסִינַ֔יsi.NaiH5514.For sixשֵׁ֣שֶׁתShe.shetH8337daysיָמִ֑יםya.MimH3117the cloudהֶעָנָ֖ןhe.'a.NanH6051covered itוַיְכַסֵּ֥הוּvay.kha.Se.huH3680,and on the seventhהַשְּׁבִיעִ֖יha.she.vi.'IH7637dayבַּיּ֥וֹםbai.YomH3117the LORDcalledוַיִּקְרָ֧אvai.yik.Ra'H7121toאֶל־'el-H413Mosesמֹשֶׁ֛הmo.ShehH4872from withinמִתּ֥וֹךְmi.TokhH8432the cloudהֶעָנָֽן׃he.'a.NanH6051.

17And the sightוּמַרְאֵה֙u.mar.'EhH4758of the gloryכְּב֣וֹדke.VodH3519of the LORDיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068was like a consumingאֹכֶ֖לֶת'o.Khe.letH398fireכְּאֵ֥שׁke.'EshH784on the mountaintopבְּרֹ֣אשׁ הָהָ֑רbe.Rosh ha.HarH7218 H2022in the eyesלְעֵינֵ֖יle.'ei.NeiH5869of the Israelitesבְּנֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃be.Nei Yis.ra.'ElH1121 H3478.
