2that this is whatכֹּ֥הkohH3541the LORDיְהוָ֥הYah.wehH3068of Hostsצְבָא֖וֹתtze.va.'otH6635saysאָמַ֛ר'a.MarH559: “Theseלֵאמֹ֑ר הַזֶּה֙le.Mor ha.ZehH2088 H559peopleהָעָ֤םha.'AmH5971sayאָֽמְר֔וּ'a.me.RuH559, ‘The timeעֶת־'et-H6256has not yetלֹ֥אlo'H3808comeבֹּ֛א עֶת־bo' 'et-H935 H6256to rebuildלְהִבָּנֽוֹת׃ פle.hi.ba.NotH1129the houseבֵּ֥יתbeitH1004of the LORDיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068.’”

3Then the wordדְּבַר־de.var-H1697of the LORDיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068cameוַֽיְהִי֙vay.HiH1961throughבְּיַד־be.yad-H3027Haggaiחַגַּ֥יcha.GaiH2292the prophetהַנָּבִ֖יאha.na.Vi'H5030,sayingלֵאמֹֽר׃le.MorH559:

4“Is it a timeהַעֵ֤תha.'EtH6256for youyourselvesאַתֶּ֔ם'a.TemH859to liveלָשֶׁ֖בֶתla.She.vetH3427in your paneledסְפוּנִ֑יםse.fu.NimH5603housesבְּבָתֵּיכֶ֣םbe.va.tei.KhemH1004,while thisהַזֶּ֖הha.ZehH2088houseוְהַבַּ֥יִתve.ha.Ba.yitH1004lies in ruinsחָרֵֽב׃cha.RevH2720?”

5Nowוְעַתָּ֕הve.'a.TahH6258this is whatכֹּ֥הkohH3541the LORDיְהוָ֣הYah.wehH3068of Hostsצְבָא֑וֹתtze.va.'otH6635saysאָמַ֖ר'a.MarH559: “Consider carefullyשִׂ֥ימוּ לְבַבְכֶ֖ם עַל־Si.mu le.vav.Khem 'al-H7760 H3824 H5921your waysדַּרְכֵיכֶֽם׃dar.khei.KhemH1870.

6You have plantedזְרַעְתֶּ֨םze.ra'.TemH2232muchהַרְבֵּ֜הhar.BehH7235but harvestedוְהָבֵ֣אve.ha.Ve'H935littleמְעָ֗טme.'AtH4592.You eatאָכ֤וֹל'a.KholH398but neverוְאֵין־ve.'ein-H369have enoughלְשָׂבְעָה֙le.sa.ve.'AhH7654.You drinkשָׁת֣וֹsha.ToH8354but neverוְאֵין־ve.'ein-H369have your fillלְשָׁכְרָ֔הle.sha.khe.RahH7937.You put on clothesלָב֖וֹשׁla.Vo.oshH3847but neverוְאֵין־ve.'ein-H369get warmלְחֹ֣םle.ChomH2552.You earn wagesH7936to put intoאֶל־'el-H413a bagצְר֥וֹרtze.RorH6872pierced throughנָקֽוּב׃ פna.KuvH5344.”

7This is whatכֹּ֥הkohH3541the LORDיְהוָ֣הYah.wehH3068of Hostsצְבָא֑וֹתtze.va.'otH6635saysאָמַ֖ר'a.MarH559: “Consider carefullyשִׂ֥ימוּ לְבַבְכֶ֖ם עַל־Si.mu le.vav.Khem 'al-H7760 H3824 H5921your waysדַּרְכֵיכֶֽם׃dar.khei.KhemH1870.

8Go upעֲל֥וּ'a.LuH5927into the hillsהָהָ֛רha.HarH2022,bring downוַהֲבֵאתֶ֥םva.ha.ve.TemH935lumberעֵ֖ץ'etzH6086,and buildוּבְנ֣וּu.ve.NuH1129the houseהַבָּ֑יִתha.Ba.yitH1004,so that I may take pleasureוְאֶרְצֶה־ve.'er.tzeh-H7521in itand be glorifiedוְאֶכָּבְדָ֖הve.'e.ka.vedH3513,saysאָמַ֥ר'a.MarH559the LORDיְהוָֽה׃Yah.wehH3068.

9You expectedפָּנֹ֤ה אֶל־pa.Noh 'el-H6437 H413muchהַרְבֵּה֙har.BehH7235,but beholdוְהִנֵּ֣הve.hi.NehH2009,it amounted to littleלִמְעָ֔טlim.'AtH4592.And what you broughtוַהֲבֵאתֶ֥םva.ha.ve.TemH935homeהַבַּ֖יִתha.Ba.yitH1004,I blew awayוְנָפַ֣חְתִּיve.na.Fach.tiH5301.Whyיַ֣עַן מֶ֗הYa.'an MehH3282 H4100?declaresנְאֻם֙ne.'UmH5002the LORDיְהוָ֣הYah.wehH3068of Hostsצְבָא֔וֹתtze.va.'otH6635.Becauseיַ֗עַןYa.'anH3282My houseבֵּיתִי֙bei.TiH1004אֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834ה֣וּאhu'H1931still liesin ruinsחָרֵ֔בcha.RevH2720,while eachאִ֥ישׁ'ishH376of youוְאַתֶּ֥םve.'a.TemH859is busyרָצִ֖יםra.TzimH7323with his own houseלְבֵיתֽוֹ׃le.vei.ToH1004.

10Thereforeעַל־ כֵּ֣ן'al- kenH5921 H3651,on account of youעֲלֵיכֶ֔ם'a.lei.KhemH5921the heavensשָמַ֖יִםsha.Ma.yimH8064have withheldכָּלְא֥וּkal.'UH3607their dewמִטָּ֑לmi.TalH2919and the earthוְהָאָ֖רֶץve.ha.'A.retzH776has withheldכָּלְאָ֥הkal.'AhH3607its cropsיְבוּלָֽהּ׃ye.vu.LahH2981.

11I have summonedוָאֶקְרָ֨אva.'ek.Ra'H7121a droughtחֹ֜רֶבCho.revH2721onעַל־'al-H5921the fieldsהָאָ֣רֶץha.'A.retzH776and onוְעַל־ve.'al-H5921the mountainsהֶהָרִ֗יםhe.ha.RimH2022,onוְעַל־ve.'al-H5921the grainהַדָּגָן֙ha.da.GanH1715וְעַל־ve.'al-H5921,new wineהַתִּיר֣וֹשׁha.ti.Ro.oshH8492,andוְעַל־ve.'al-H5921oilהַיִּצְהָ֔ר וְעַ֛לhai.yitz.Har ve.'AlH3323 H5921,and on whateverאֲשֶׁ֥ר'a.SherH834the groundהָאֲדָמָ֑הha.'a.da.MahH127yieldsתּוֹצִ֖יאto.Tzi'H3318,onוְעַל־ve.'al-H5921manהָֽאָדָם֙ וְעַל־ha.'a.Dam ve.'al-H120 H5921and beastהַבְּהֵמָ֔הha.be.he.MahH929,and onוְעַ֖לve.'AlH5921allכָּל־kol-H3605the laborיְגִ֥יעַye.Gi.a'H3018of your handsכַּפָּֽיִם׃ סka.Pa.yimH3709.”

12Then Zerubbabelזְרֻבָּבֶ֣ל׀ze.ru.ba.VelH2216sonבֶּֽן־ben-H1121of Shealtielשַׁלְתִּיאֵ֡לshal.ti.'ElH7597and Joshuaוִיהוֹשֻׁ֣עַvi.ho.Shu.a'H3091sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of Jehozadakיְהוֹצָדָק֩ye.ho.tza.DakH3087,the highהַגָּד֜וֹלha.ga.DolH1419priestהַכֹּהֵ֨ןha.ko.HenH3548,as well as allוְכֹ֣ל׀ve.KholH3605the remnantשְׁאֵרִ֣יתshe.'e.RitH7611of the peopleהָעָ֗םha.'AmH5971,obeyedוַיִּשְׁמַ֣עvai.yish.Ma'H8085the voiceבְּקוֹל֙be.kOlH6963of the LORDיְהוָ֣הYah.wehH3068their Godאֱלֹֽהֵיהֶ֔ם וְעַל־'e.lo.hei.Hem ve.'al-H430 H5921and the wordsדִּבְרֵי֙div.ReiH1697of the prophetהַנָּבִ֔יאha.na.Vi'H5030Haggaiחַגַּ֣יcha.GaiH2292,becauseכַּאֲשֶׁ֥רka.'a.SherH834the LORDיְהוָ֣הYah.wehH3068their Godאֱלֹהֵיהֶ֑ם'e.lo.hei.HemH430had sent himשְׁלָח֖וֹshe.la.ChoH7971.So the peopleהָעָ֖ם מִפְּנֵ֥יha.'Am mi.pe.NeiH5971 H6440fearedוַיִּֽירְא֥וּvai.yi.re.'UH3372the LORDיְהוָֽה׃Yah.wehH3068.

13Haggaiחַגַּ֞יcha.GaiH2292,the messengerמַלְאַ֧ךְmal.'AkhH4397of the LORDיְהוָ֛הYah.wehH3068,deliveredוַ֠יֹּאמֶרVai.yo.merH559the messageבְּמַלְאֲכ֥וּתbe.mal.'a.KhutH4400of the LORDיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068to the peopleלָעָ֣םla.'AmH5971לֵאמֹ֑רle.MorH559: “Iאֲנִ֥י'a.NiH589amwith youאִתְּכֶ֖ם'i.te.KhemH854,”declaresנְאֻם־ne.'um-H5002the LORDיְהוָֽה׃Yah.wehH3068.
