2When the LORDיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068firstתְּחִלַּ֥תte.chi.LatH8462spokeדִּבֶּר־di.ber-H1696through Hoseaבְּהוֹשֵׁ֑עַ פbe.ho.She.a'H1954,Heיְהוָ֜הYah.wehH3068toldוַיֹּ֨אמֶר אֶל־vai.Yo.mer 'el-H559 H413himהוֹשֵׁ֗עַho.She.a'H1954, “Goלֵ֣ךְlekhH1980,takeקַח־kach-H3947a prostituteזְנוּנִים֙ze.nu.NimH2183as yourwifeאֵ֤שֶׁת'E.shetH802and have childrenוְיַלְדֵ֣יve.yal.DeiH3206of adulteryזְנוּנִ֔יםze.nu.NimH2183,becauseכִּֽי־ki-H3588this landהָאָ֔רֶץha.'A.retzH776is flagrantly prostituting itselfH2181by departingfromמֵֽאַחֲרֵ֖יme.'a.cha.ReiH310the LORDיְהוָֽה׃Yah.wehH3068.”

3So Hosea wentוַיֵּ֙לֶךְ֙vai.Ye.lekhH1980and marriedוַיִּקַּ֔חvai.yi.KachH3947אֶת־'et-H853Gomerגֹּ֖מֶרGo.merH1586daughterבַּת־bat-H1323of Diblaimדִּבְלָ֑יִםdiv.La.yimH1691,and she conceivedוַתַּ֥הַרva.Ta.harH2029and boreוַתֵּֽלֶד־va.te.led-H3205hima sonבֵּֽן׃BenH1121.

4Then the LORDיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068saidוַיֹּ֤אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559toאֵלָ֔יו'e.LavH413Hosea, “Name himקְרָ֥א שְׁמ֖וֹke.Ra' she.MoH7121 H8034Jezreelיִזְרְעֶ֑אלyiz.re.'ElH3157,forכִּי־ki-H3588soonע֣וֹד מְעַ֗טod me.'AtH5750 H4592I will bringוּפָ֨קַדְתִּ֜יu.Fa.kad.TiH6485אֶת־'et-H853the bloodshedדְּמֵ֤יde.MeiH1818of Jezreelיִזְרְעֶאל֙yiz.re.'eLH3157uponעַל־'al-H5921the houseבֵּ֣יתbeitH1004of Jehuיֵה֔וּאye.Hu'H3058,and I will put an endוְהִ֨שְׁבַּתִּ֔יve.Hish.ba.TiH7673to the kingdomמַמְלְכ֖וּתmam.le.KhutH4468of Israelבֵּ֥ית יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃beit Yis.ra.'ElH1004 H3478.

5Andוְהָיָ֖הve.ha.YahH1961on thatהַה֑וּאha.Hu'H1931dayבַּיּ֣וֹםbai.YomH3117I will breakוְשָֽׁבַרְתִּי֙ve.sha.var.TiH7665אֶת־'et-H853the bowקֶ֣שֶׁתKe.shetH7198of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478in the Valleyבְּעֵ֖מֶקbe.'E.mekH6010of Jezreelיִזְרְעֶֽאל׃yiz.re.'ElH3157.”

6Gomeragainעוֹד֙'OdH5750conceivedוַתַּ֤הַרva.Ta.harH2029and gave birth toוַתֵּ֣לֶדva.Te.ledH3205a daughterבַּ֔תBatH1323,and the LORD saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to Hosea, “Nameקְרָ֥אke.Ra'H7121herשְׁמָ֖הּshe.MahH8034Lo-ruhamahH3819,forכִּי֩kiH3588I will noלֹ֨אlo'H3808longerאוֹסִ֜יף ע֗וֹד'o.Sif odH3254 H5750have compassionאֲרַחֵם֙'a.ra.ChemH7355אֶת־'et-H853on the houseבֵּ֣יתbeitH1004of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478,thatכִּֽי־ki-H3588I should ever forgiveH5375them.

7Yetוְאֶת־ve.'EtH853I will have compassionאֲרַחֵ֔ם'a.ra.ChemH7355on the houseבֵּ֤יתbeitH1004of Judahיְהוּדָה֙ye.hu.DahH3063,and I will save themוְהֽוֹשַׁעְתִּ֖יםve.ho.sha'.TimH3467—notוְלֹ֣אve.Lo'H3808אֽוֹשִׁיעֵ֗ם'o.shi.'EmH3467by bowבְּקֶ֤שֶׁתbe.Ke.shetH7198or swordוּבְחֶ֙רֶב֙u.ve.Che.revH2719or warוּבְמִלְחָמָ֔הu.ve.mil.cha.MahH4421,not by horsesבְּסוּסִ֖יםbe.su.SimH5483and cavalryוּבְפָרָשִֽׁים׃u.ve.fa.ra.ShimH6571,but by the LORDבַּיהוָ֣הba.Yah.wehH3068their Godאֱלֹֽהֵיהֶ֑ם'e.lo.hei.HemH430.”

8After she had weanedוַתִּגְמֹ֖לva.tig.MolH1580אֶת־'et-H853Lo-ruhamahH3819, Gomerconceivedוַתַּ֖הַרva.Ta.harH2029and gave birth toוַתֵּ֥לֶדva.Te.ledH3205a sonבֵּֽן׃BenH1121.

9And the LORD saidוַיֹּ֕אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “Nameקְרָ֥אke.Ra'H7121himשְׁמ֖וֹshe.MoH8034Lo-ammiH3818,forכִּ֤יkiH3588youאַתֶּם֙'a.TemH859are notלֹ֣אlo'H3808My peopleעַמִּ֔י'a.MiH5971,and Iוְאָנֹכִ֖יve.'a.no.KhiH595am notלֹֽא־lo'-H3808your Godאֶהְיֶ֥ה'eh.YehH1961.

10Yet the numberמִסְפַּ֤רmis.ParH4557of the Israelitesבְּנֵֽי־ יִשְׂרָאֵל֙be.nei- Yis.ra.'ElH1121 H3478will beוְֽ֠הָיָהVe.ha.yahH1961like the sandכְּח֣וֹלke.CholH2344of the seaהַיָּ֔םhai.YamH3220,whichאֲשֶׁ֥ר'a.SherH834cannotלֹֽא־lo'-H3808be measuredיִמַּ֖דyi.MadH4058orוְלֹ֣אve.Lo'H3808countedיִסָּפֵ֑רyi.sa.FerH5608.And it will happen thatוְֽ֠הָיָהVe.ha.yahH1961in the very placeבִּמְק֞וֹםbim.KomH4725whereאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834it was saidיֵאָמֵ֤רye.'a.MerH559to them, ‘Youאַתֶּ֔ם'a.TemH859arenotלֹֽא־lo'-H3808My peopleעַמִּ֣י'a.MiH5971,’they will be calledיֵאָמֵ֥רye.'a.MerH559‘sonsבְּנֵ֥יbe.NeiH1121of the livingחָֽי׃ChaiH2416Godאֵֽל־'el-H410.’

11Then the peopleבְּנֵֽי־be.nei-H1121of Judahיְהוּדָ֤הye.hu.DahH3063andוּבְנֵֽי־u.ve.nei-H1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵל֙Yis.ra.'ElH3478will be gatheredוְ֠נִקְבְּצוּVe.nik.be.tzuH6908togetherיַחְדָּ֔וyach.DavH3162,and they will appointוְשָׂמ֥וּve.sa.MuH7760for themselvesoneאֶחָ֖ד'e.ChadH259leaderרֹ֥אשׁroshH7218,and will go upוְעָל֣וּve.'a.LuH5927outמִן־min-H4480of the landהָאָ֑רֶץha.'A.retzH776.Forכִּ֥יkiH3588greatגָד֖וֹלga.DolH1419will bethe dayי֥וֹםYomH3117of Jezreelיִזְרְעֶֽאל׃yiz.re.'ElH3157.
