2Then Solomonשְׁלֹמֹ֣הshe.lo.MohH8010spokeוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to allלְכָל־le.kholH3605Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֡לYis.ra.'ElH3478,to the commandersלְשָׂרֵי֩le.sa.ReiH8269of thousandsהָאֲלָפִ֨יםha.'a.la.FimH505and of hundredsוְהַמֵּא֜וֹתve.ha.me.'otH3967,to the judgesוְלַשֹּֽׁפְטִ֗יםve.la.sho.fe.TimH8199,and to everyוּלְכֹ֛לu.le.KholH3605leaderנָשִׂ֥יאna.Si'H5387in allלְכָל־le.kholH3605Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֖לYis.ra.'ElH3478—the headsרָאשֵׁ֥יra.SheiH7218of the familiesהָאָבֽוֹת׃ha.'a.VotH1.

4Nowאֲבָ֗ל'a.ValH61Davidדָוִיד֙da.VidH1732מִקִּרְיַ֣תmi.kir.YatH7157had broughtהֶעֱלָ֤הhe.'e.LahH5927the arkאֲר֤וֹן'a.RonH727of Godהָאֱלֹהִים֙ha.'E.lo.HimH430from Kiriath-jearimיְעָרִ֔יםye.'a.RimH7157to the placeדָּוִ֑ידda.VidH1732he had preparedבַּֽהֵכִ֥יןba.he.KhinH3559for it,becauseכִּ֧יkiH3588he had pitchedנָֽטָה־na.tah-H5186a tentאֹ֖הֶל'O.helH168for itin Jerusalemבִּירוּשָׁלִָֽם׃bi.ru.sha.LimH3389.

5But the bronzeהַנְּחֹ֗שֶׁתha.ne.Cho.shetH5178altarוּמִזְבַּ֣חu.miz.BachH4196אֲשֶׁ֤ר'a.SherH834made byעָשָׂה֙'a.SahH6213Bezalelבְּצַלְאֵל֙be.tzal.'ElH1212sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of Uriאוּרִ֣י'u.RiH221,the sonבֶן־ven-H1121of Hurח֔וּרChurH2354,wasשָׂ֕םsamH7760in Gibeonbeforeלִפְנֵ֖יlif.NeiH6440the tabernacleמִשְׁכַּ֣ןmish.KanH4908of the LORDיְהוָ֑הYah.wehH3068.So Solomonשְׁלֹמֹ֖הshe.lo.MohH8010and the assemblyוְהַקָּהָֽל׃ve.ha.ka.HalH6951inquired of Him thereוַיִּדְרְשֵׁ֥הוּvai.yid.re.She.huH1875.

6Solomonשְׁלֹמֹ֨הshe.lo.MohH8010offered sacrificesוַיַּעַל֩vai.ya.'AlH5927thereשָׁ֜םshamH8033beforeלִפְנֵ֣יlif.NeiH6440the LORDיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068אֲשֶׁ֖ר'a.SherH834onעַל־'al-H5921the bronzeהַנְּחֹ֙שֶׁת֙ha.ne.Cho.shetH5178altarמִזְבַּ֤חmiz.BachH4196at the Tentלְאֹ֣הֶלle.'O.helH168of Meetingמוֹעֵ֑דmo.'EdH4150, whereעָלָ֛יו'a.LavH5921he offeredוַיַּ֧עַלvai.Ya.'alH5927a thousandאָֽלֶף׃'A.lefH505burnt offeringsעֹל֖וֹתo.LotH5930.

7Thatהַה֔וּאha.Hu'H1931nightבַּלַּ֣יְלָהba.Lay.lahH3915Godאֱלֹהִ֖ים'E.lo.HimH430appearedנִרְאָ֥הnir.'AhH7200to Solomonלִשְׁלֹמֹ֑הlish.lo.MohH8010and saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “Askשְׁאַ֖לshe.'AlH7592מָ֥הmahH4100, andI will give itאֶתֶּן־'e.ten-H5414to you!”

8Solomonשְׁלֹמֹה֙she.lo.MohH8010repliedוַיֹּ֤אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to Godלֵֽאלֹהִ֔יםle.lo.HimH430: “Youאַתָּ֗ה'a.TahH859have shownעָשִׂ֛יתָ'a.Si.taH6213muchגָּד֑וֹלga.DolH1419loving devotionחֶ֣סֶדChe.sedH2617toעִם־'im-H5973my fatherאָבִ֖י'a.ViH1Davidדָּוִ֥ידda.VidH1732,and You have made me kingוְהִמְלַכְתַּ֖נִיve.him.lakh.Ta.niH4427in his placeתַּחְתָּֽיו׃tach.TavH8478.

9Nowעַתָּה֙'a.TahH6258,O LORDיְהוָ֣הYah.wehH3068Godאֱלֹהִ֔ים'E.lo.HimH430,let Your promiseדְּבָ֣רְךָ֔de.Va.re.khaH1697toעִ֖ם'imH5973my fatherאָבִ֑י'a.ViH1Davidדָּוִ֣ידda.VidH1732be fulfilledיֵֽאָמֵן֙ye.'a.MenH539.Forכִּ֤יkiH3588Youאַתָּה֙'a.TahH859have made me kingהִמְלַכְתַּ֔נִיhim.lakh.Ta.niH4427overעַל־'al-H5921a peopleעַ֕ם'amH5971as numerousרַ֖בravH7227as the dustכַּעֲפַ֥רka.'a.FarH6083of the earthהָאָֽרֶץ׃ha.'A.retzH776.
