Mark 9:9-29
9And as they were comingG2597 downG2597 from the mountainG3735, he charged them that they should tell no manG444 what thingsG3739 they had seenG3708, save whenG3752 the SonG5207 of manG444 should have risenG450 againG450 from the deadG3498. 10And they kept the sayingG3056, questioning among themselves what the risingG450 againG450 from the deadG3498 should mean. 11And they askedG1905 him, sayingG3004, How is it that the scribesG1122 sayG3004 that ElijahG2243 must firstG4413 comeG2064? 12And he saidG5346 unto them, ElijahG2243 indeed cometh firstG4413, and restoreth all thingsG3956: and howG4459 is it writtenG1125 of the SonG5207 of manG444, that he should sufferG3958 manyG4183 thingsG3956 and be set at nought? 13But I sayG3004 unto you, that ElijahG2243 is comeG2064, and they have alsoG2532 done unto him whatsoever they would, evenG2532 as it is writtenG1125 of him.
14And when they cameG2064 to the disciplesG3101, they sawG3708 a greatG4183 multitudeG3793 about them, and scribesG1122 questioning with them. 15And straightway all the multitudeG3793, when they sawG3708 him, were greatly amazed, and runningG4370 to him saluted him. 16And he askedG1905 them, What questionG1905 ye with them? 17And oneG1520 of the multitudeG3793 answeredG611 him, TeacherG1320, I broughtG5342 unto thee my sonG5207, who hath a dumb spiritG4151; 18and wheresoever it taketh him, it dasheth him downG4486: and he foameth, and grindeth his teethG3599, and pineth awayG3583: and I spake to thy disciplesG3101 that they should castG1544 it out; and they were not ableG2480. 19And he answereth them and saith, O faithless generationG1074, how long shall I beG1510 with you? how long shall I bearG5342 with you? bringG5342 him unto me. 20And they broughtG5342 him unto him: and when he sawG3708 him, straightway the spiritG4151 tare him grievously; and he fellG4098 on the groundG1093, and wallowed foaming. 21And he askedG1905 his fatherG3962, HowG5613 long timeG5550 isG1510 it since this hath comeG1096 unto him? And he saidG3004, From a child. 22And oft-times it hath castG906 him both into the fireG4442 and into the watersG5204, to destroyG622 him: but if thou canst do anythingG5100, have compassionG4697 on us, and helpG997 us. 23And JesusG2424 saidG3004 unto him, If thou canst! All thingsG3956 are possibleG1415 to him that believeth. 24Straightway the fatherG3962 of the childG3813 criedG2896 out, and saidG3004, I believeG4100; helpG997 thou mineG1473 unbeliefG570. 25And when JesusG2424 sawG3708 that a multitudeG3793 cameG1831 running together, he rebukedG2008 the uncleanG169 spiritG4151, sayingG3004 unto him, Thou dumb and deafG2974 spiritG4151, I command thee, comeG1831 out of him, and enterG1525 no moreG3371 into him. 26And having criedG2896 out, and torn him muchG4183, he cameG1096 out: and the boy becameG1096 as oneG3588 deadG3498; insomuch that the moreG4183 part saidG3004, He is deadG3498. 27But JesusG2424 tookG2902 him by the handG5495, and raisedG1453 him up; and he aroseG450. 28And when he was comeG1525 into the houseG3624, his disciplesG3101 askedG1905 him privately, How is it that we could not castG1544 it out? 29And he saidG3004 unto them, This kindG1085 can comeG1831 out by nothing, save by prayerG4335.
