2 Kings 24

American Standard Version

1In his daysH3117 NebuchadnezzarH5019 kingH4428 of BabylonH894 came up, and JehoiakimH3079 becameH1961 his servantH5650 threeH7969 yearsH8141: then he turnedH7725 and rebelledH4775 against him. 2And Jehovah sentH7971 against him bandsH1416 of the ChaldeansH3778, and bandsH1416 of the Syrians, and bandsH1416 of the Moabites, and bandsH1416 of the children of AmmonH5983, and sentH7971 them against JudahH3063 to destroyH6 it, according to the wordH1697 of Jehovah, which he spake by his servantsH5650 the prophetsH5030. 3SurelyH389 at the commandment of Jehovah came this upon JudahH3063, to removeH5493 them out of his sight, for the sinsH2403 of ManassehH4519, according to all that he did, 4and alsoH1571 for the innocentH5355 bloodH1818 that he shedH8210; for he filledH4390 JerusalemH3389 with innocentH5355 bloodH1818: and Jehovah wouldH14 not pardon. 5Now the restH3499 of the acts of JehoiakimH3079, and all that he did, are they not writtenH3789 in the bookH5612 of the chronicles of the kingsH4428 of JudahH3063? 6So JehoiakimH3079 slept with his fathersH1; and JehoiachinH3078 his sonH1121 reignedH4427 in his stead. 7And the kingH4428 of EgyptH4714 came not againH5750 any more out of his landH776; for the kingH4428 of BabylonH894 had takenH3947, from the brook of EgyptH4714 unto the riverH5104 EuphratesH6578, all that pertained to the kingH4428 of EgyptH4714.

8JehoiachinH3078 was eighteen yearsH8141 old when he began to reignH4427; and he reignedH4427 in JerusalemH3389 threeH7969 monthsH2320: and his mother’sH517 nameH8034 was Nehushta the daughterH1323 of ElnathanH494 of JerusalemH3389. 9And he did that which was evilH7451 in the sight of Jehovah, according to all that his fatherH1 had done.

10At that timeH6256 the servantsH5650 of NebuchadnezzarH5019 kingH4428 of BabylonH894 cameH935 up to JerusalemH3389, and the cityH5892 was besieged. 11And NebuchadnezzarH5019 kingH4428 of BabylonH894 cameH935 unto the cityH5892, while his servantsH5650 were besieging it; 12and JehoiachinH3078 the kingH4428 of JudahH3063 wentH3318 out to the kingH4428 of BabylonH894, he, and his motherH517, and his servantsH5650, and his princesH8269, and his officers: and the kingH4428 of BabylonH894 tookH3947 him in the eighth yearH8141 of his reignH4427. 13And he carried out thence all the treasuresH214 of the houseH1004 of Jehovah, and the treasuresH214 of the king’sH4428 houseH1004, and cutH7112 in pieces all the vesselsH3627 of goldH2091, which SolomonH8010 kingH4428 of IsraelH3478 had madeH6213 in the temple of Jehovah, as Jehovah had saidH1696. 14And he carried away all JerusalemH3389, and all the princesH8269, and all the mightyH1368 menH1368 of valor, even tenH6235 thousandH505 captives, and all the craftsmenH2796 and the smithsH4525; none remainedH7604, save the poorest sort of the peopleH5971 of the landH776. 15And he carried away JehoiachinH3078 to BabylonH894; and the king’sH4428 motherH517, and the king’sH4428 wivesH802, and his officers, and the chief men of the landH776, carried he into captivity from JerusalemH3389 to BabylonH894. 16And all the menH376 of might, even sevenH7651 thousandH505, and the craftsmenH2796 and the smithsH4525 a thousandH505, all of them strong and apt for warH4421, even them the kingH4428 of BabylonH894 broughtH935 captive to BabylonH894. 17And the kingH4428 of BabylonH894 made MattaniahH4983, Jehoiachin’s father’s brother, kingH4428 in his stead, and changedH5437 his nameH8034 to ZedekiahH6667.

18ZedekiahH6667 was twentyH6242 and oneH259 yearsH8141 old when he began to reignH4427; and he reignedH4427 eleven yearsH8141 in JerusalemH3389: and his mother’sH517 nameH8034 was HamutalH2537 the daughterH1323 of JeremiahH3414 of LibnahH3841. 19And he did that which was evilH7451 in the sight of Jehovah, according to all that JehoiakimH3079 had done. 20For through the angerH639 of Jehovah did it come to pass in JerusalemH3389 and JudahH3063, until he had castH7993 them out from his presenceH6440.

And ZedekiahH6667 rebelledH4775 against the kingH4428 of BabylonH894.
