2 Kings 21

American Standard Version

1ManassehH4519 was twelve yearsH8141 old when he began to reignH4427; and he reignedH4427 fiveH2568 and fiftyH2572 yearsH8141 in JerusalemH3389: and his mother’sH517 nameH8034 was Hephzibah. 2And he did that which was evilH7451 in the sight of Jehovah, after the abominationsH8441 of the nationsH1471 whom Jehovah cast out before the children of IsraelH3478. 3For he builtH1129 again the highH1116 placesH1116 which HezekiahH2396 his fatherH1 had destroyedH6; and he reared up altarsH4196 for BaalH1168, and madeH6213 an AsherahH842, as did AhabH256 kingH4428 of IsraelH3478, and worshipped all the hostH6635 of heavenH8064, and servedH5647 them. 4And he builtH1129 altarsH4196 in the houseH1004 of Jehovah, whereof Jehovah saidH559, In JerusalemH3389 will I putH7760 my nameH8034. 5And he builtH1129 altarsH4196 for all the hostH6635 of heavenH8064 in the twoH8147 courts of the houseH1004 of Jehovah. 6And he madeH6213 his sonH1121 to passH5674 through the fireH784, and practised augury, and used enchantments, and dealt with them that had familiar spirits, and with wizards: he wrought muchH7235 evilH7451 in the sight of Jehovah, to provokeH3707 him to angerH3707. 7And he setH7760 the graven imageH6459 of AsherahH842, that he had madeH6213, in the houseH1004 of which Jehovah saidH559 to DavidH1732 and to SolomonH8010 his sonH1121, In this houseH1004, and in JerusalemH3389, which I have chosenH977 out of all the tribesH7626 of IsraelH3478, will I putH7760 my nameH8034 for everH5769; 8neither will I cause the feetH7272 of IsraelH3478 to wanderH5110 any moreH4480 out of the landH127 which I gaveH5414 their fathersH1, if onlyH7535 they will observeH8104 to do according to all that I have commandedH6680 them, and according to all the lawH8451 that my servantH5650 MosesH4872 commandedH6680 them. 9But they hearkened not: and ManassehH4519 seduced them to do that which is evilH7451 moreH4480 than did the nationsH1471 whom Jehovah destroyedH8045 before the children of IsraelH3478.

10And Jehovah spake by his servantsH5650 the prophetsH5030, sayingH559, 11Because ManassehH4519 kingH4428 of JudahH3063 hath done these abominationsH8441, and hath done wickedly above all that the AmoritesH567 did, that were before him, and hath madeH6213 JudahH3063 alsoH1571 to sinH2398 with his idolsH1544; 12thereforeH3651 thusH3541 saith Jehovah, the GodH430 of IsraelH3478, Behold, I bringH935 such evilH7451 upon JerusalemH3389 and JudahH3063, that whosoever heareth of it, both his earsH241 shall tingleH6750. 13And I will stretchH5186 over JerusalemH3389 the line of SamariaH8111, and the plummet of the houseH1004 of AhabH256; and I will wipeH4229 JerusalemH3389 as a man wipeth a dishH6747, wiping it and turningH2015 it upside downH5186. 14And I will cast off the remnantH7611 of mine inheritanceH5159, and deliver them into the handH3027 of their enemiesH341; and they shall becomeH1961 a preyH957 and a spoilH957 to all their enemiesH341; 15because they have done that which is evilH7451 in my sight, and have provokedH3707 me to angerH3707, since the dayH3117 their fathersH1 came forthH3318 out of EgyptH4714, even unto this dayH3117.

16Moreover ManassehH4519 shedH8210 innocentH5355 bloodH1818 veryH3966 muchH7235, till he had filledH4390 JerusalemH3389 from one end to another; besides his sinH2398 wherewith he madeH6213 JudahH3063 to sinH2398, in doing that which was evilH7451 in the sight of Jehovah. 17Now the restH3499 of the acts of ManassehH4519, and all that he did, and his sinH2398 that he sinnedH2398, are they not writtenH3789 in the bookH5612 of the chronicles of the kingsH4428 of JudahH3063? 18And ManassehH4519 slept with his fathersH1, and was buriedH6912 in the gardenH1588 of his own houseH1004, in the gardenH1588 of Uzza: and AmonH526 his sonH1121 reignedH4427 in his stead.

19AmonH526 was twentyH6242 and twoH8147 yearsH8141 old when he began to reignH4427; and he reignedH4427 twoH8147 yearsH8141 in JerusalemH3389: and his mother’sH517 nameH8034 was Meshullemeth the daughterH1323 of Haruz of Jotbah. 20And he did that which was evilH7451 in the sight of Jehovah, as did ManassehH4519 his fatherH1. 21And he walkedH1980 in all the wayH1870 that his fatherH1 walkedH1980 in, and servedH5647 the idolsH1544 that his fatherH1 servedH5647, and worshipped them: 22and he forsook Jehovah, the GodH430 of his fathersH1, and walkedH1980 not in the wayH1870 of Jehovah. 23And the servantsH5650 of AmonH526 conspired against him, and putH4191 the kingH4428 to deathH4191 in his own houseH1004. 24But the peopleH5971 of the landH776 slew all them that had conspired against kingH4428 AmonH526; and the peopleH5971 of the landH776 made JosiahH2977 his sonH1121 kingH4428 in his stead. 25Now the restH3499 of the acts of AmonH526 which he did, are they not writtenH3789 in the bookH5612 of the chronicles of the kingsH4428 of JudahH3063? 26And he was buriedH6912 in his sepulchre in the gardenH1588 of Uzza: and JosiahH2977 his sonH1121 reignedH4427 in his stead.
