1 Samuel 15:23-30
23For rebellionH4805 is as the sinH2403 of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as idolatry and teraphimH8655. Because thou hast rejectedH3988 the wordH1697 of Jehovah, he hath also rejectedH3988 thee from being kingH4428.
24And SaulH7586 saidH559 unto SamuelH8050, I have sinnedH2398; for I have transgressed the commandment of Jehovah, and thy wordsH1697, because I fearedH3372 the peopleH5971, and obeyed their voiceH6963. 25NowH6258 thereforeH6258, I pray thee, pardon my sinH2403, and turnH7725 again with me, that I may worship Jehovah. 26And SamuelH8050 saidH559 unto SaulH7586, I will not returnH7725 with thee; for thou hast rejectedH3988 the wordH1697 of Jehovah, and Jehovah hath rejectedH3988 thee from being kingH4428 over IsraelH3478. 27And as SamuelH8050 turnedH5437 about to goH5437 awayH5437, Saul laid holdH2388 upon the skirtH3671 of his robeH4598, and it rent. 28And SamuelH8050 saidH559 unto him, Jehovah hath rent the kingdomH4468 of IsraelH3478 from thee this dayH3117, and hath givenH5414 it to a neighborH7453 of thine, that is betterH2896 than thou. 29And alsoH1571 the Strength of IsraelH3478 will not lie nor repentH5162; for he is not a manH120, that he should repentH5162. 30Then he saidH559, I have sinnedH2398: yet honorH3513 me nowH6258, I pray thee, before the eldersH2205 of my peopleH5971, and before IsraelH3478, and turnH7725 again with me, that I may worship Jehovah thy GodH430.
