Psalm 5
Revised Version 1895
For the Chief Musician; with the Nehiloth. A Psalm of David.
1Give ear to my words, O LORD, consider my meditation.
3O LORD, in the morning shalt thou hearH6963 my voiceH6963; in the morning will I order my prayer unto thee, and will keep watch.
6Thou shalt destroyH3605 them that speak lies: the LORD abhorreth the bloodthirsty and deceitful manH3605.
7But as for meH1696, in the multitude of thy lovingkindness will I come intoH376 thy house: in thy fear will I worship toward thy holy temple.
8LeadH413 meH413, O LORDH2617, in thy righteousness becauseH413 of mine enemies; make thy way plain beforeH413 my face.
9For there is no faithfulness in their mouthH6440; their inward part is very wickedness: their throat is an openH6440 sepulchre; they flatter with their tongue.
10Hold them guilty, O GodH369; let them fall by their own counsels: thrust them outH3559 in the multitude of their transgressions; for they have rebelled against thee.
11But let allH7230 thoseH3588 that put their trustH6588 in thee rejoice, let them ever shout for joy, becauseH3588 thou defendest them: let them also that love thy name be joyful in thee.
12For thou wilt bless the righteous; O LORD, thou wilt compass him with favour as with a shield.
