Psalm 54

Revised Version 1895

For the Chief Musician; on stringed instruments. Maschil of David: when the Ziphites came and said to Saul, Doth not David hide himself with us?

1Save me, O God, by thy name, and judge me in thy might.
2Hear my prayer, O GodH559; giveH935 ear to the words of my mouth.
3For strangers are risen up against meH3467, and violent men have sought afterH8034 my soul: they have notH3467 set GodH430 beforeH430 them. Selah
4Behold, GodH430 is mine helper: the Lord is of them that uphold my soul.
5He shall requite the evil unto mine enemiesH6965: destroy thou them in thy truth.
6With a freewill offering will I sacrifice unto thee: I will give thanks unto thy name, O LORDH136, for it is good.
7For he hath delivered meH7725 outH7451 of all troubleH7451; and mine eye hath seen my desire upon mine enemies.
