Psalm 41

Revised Version 1895

For the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David.

Blessed is he that considereth the poor: the LORD will deliver him in the day of evil.
The LORDH3068 will preserve him, and keep him alive, and he shall be blessedH835 uponH413 the earth; and deliverH4422 not thou him unto the will of his enemies.
The LORDH3068 will support him upon the couch of languishing: thou makest all his bed in his sickness.
I said, O LORDH3068, have mercyH3068 uponH5921 meH5921: healH2015 my soul; for I have sinned againstH5921 thee.
Mine enemies speakH559 evil againstH2398 meH5315, sayingH559, When shall he die, and his nameH559 perish?
And if he come to see meH4191, he speaketh vanity; his heart gathereth iniquity to itself: when he goeth abroad, he telleth it.
All that hate meH935 whisper togetherH6908 againstH1696 meH935: againstH1696 meH935 doH518 they devise my hurt.
An evilH7451 disease, say they, cleaveth fast unto him: and now that he lieth he shall rise upH5921 noH3605 moreH5921.
Yea, mine own familiar friend, in whomH834 I trusted, whichH834 didH834 eat of my bread, hath lifted upH6965 his heel againstH1697 meH3254.
But thou, O LORD, have mercy uponH5921 meH5921, and raise meH5921 upH5921, that I may requite them.
By this I know that thou delightest in meH859, because mine enemy doth not triumph over meH859.
And as for meH5921, thou upholdest meH5921 in mine integrity, and settest meH5921 beforeH5921 thy face for ever.
Blessed be the LORD, the God of Israel, from everlastingH5769 and to everlastingH5769. Amen, and Amen.
