Psalm 64

Revised Version 1895

For the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David.

1Hear my voice, O God, in my complaint: preserve my life from fear of the enemy.
2Hide meH6963 from the secretH5341 counsel of evil-doers; from the tumult of the workers of iniquity:
3Who have whet their tongue like a sword, and have aimed their arrows, even bitter words:
4That they may shoot in secret places at the perfect: suddenly do they shoot at him, and fear not.
5They encourage themselves in an evil purpose; they commune of laying snares privily; they say, Who shall see them?
6They searchH7200 outH2388 iniquities; WeH1697 have accomplished, sayH559 they, a diligent searchH7200: and the inward thoughtH559 of everyH1697 one, and the heart, is deepH2388.
7But GodH2664 shall shoot at them; with an arrow suddenly shall they be wounded.
8SoH1961 they shall be madeH1961 to stumble, their ownH1961 tongue beingH1961 against them: all that see them shall wag the head.
9And allH3605 menH3605 shall fear; and they shall declare the work of God, and shall wisely considerH7200 of his doing.
10The righteous shall be glad in the LORD, and shall trust in him; and allH3605 the upright in heart shall glory.
