Psalms 5

Prayer for Protection from the Wicked.

For the choir director; for Heb Nehilothflute accompaniment. A Psalm of David.

11GiveH238 earH238 to my wordsH561, O LordH3068, ConsiderH995 my 23groaningH1901.2HeedH7181 4the soundH6963 of my cryH7768 for helpH7773, 5my KingH4428 and my GodH430, For to You I prayH6419.3In the morningH1242, O LordH3068, 6You will hearH8085 my voiceH6963; In the 7morningH1242 I will orderH6186 my 8prayer to You and eagerly 9watchH6822.

4For You are not a GodH410 10who takesH2655 pleasureH2655 in wickednessH7562; 11NoH3808 evilH7451 12dwellsH1481 with You.5The 13boastfulH1984 shall not 14standH3320 beforeH5048 Your eyesH5869; You 15hateH8130 allH3605 who doH6466 iniquityH205.6You 16destroyH6 those who speakH1696 falsehoodH3577; The LordH3068 abhorsH8581 17the manH376 of bloodshedH1818 and deceitH4820.7But as for me, 18by Your abundantH7230 lovingkindnessH2617 I will enterH935 Your houseH1004, 19At Your holyH6944 templeH1964 I will 20bowH7812 in 21reverenceH3374 for You.

8O LordH3068, 22leadH5148 me 23in Your righteousnessH6666 24becauseH4616 of 25my foesH7796; MakeH3474 Your wayH1870 26straightH3474 beforeH6440 me.9ThereH369 is 27nothingH369 28reliableH3559 in 29whatH6310 they sayH6310; Their 30inwardH7130 partH7130 is destructionH1942 itself. Their 31throatH1627 is an openH6605 graveH6913; They 32flatterH2505 with their tongueH3956.10HoldH816 them guiltyH816, O GodH430; 33By their own devicesH4156 let them fallH5307! In the multitudeH7230 of their transgressionsH6588 34thrustH5080 them out, For they are 35rebelliousH4784 against You.

11But let allH3605 who 36takeH2620 refugeH2620 in You 37be gladH8055, Let them everH5769 singH7442 for joyH7442; And 38may You 39shelterH5526 them, That those who 40loveH157 Your nameH8034 may exultH5970 in You.12For it is You who 41blessesH1288 the righteousH6662 manH6662, O LordH3068, You 42surroundH5849 him with favorH7522 as with a shieldH6793.
