Psalm 142

Revised Version 1895

Maschil of David, when he was in the cave; a Prayer.

1I cry with my voice unto the LORD; with my voice unto the LORD do I make supplication.
2I pour outH2199 my complaint beforeH413 him; I shew beforeH413 him my trouble.
3When my spirit was overwhelmed within meH6440, thou knewest my path. In the wayH6440 wherein I walk have they hidden a snare for meH6440.
4Look on my right hand, and seeH3045; for there is no man that knoweth meH5921: refuge hath failed meH5921; no man careth for my soul.
5I cried unto thee, O LORDH3225; I said, Thou art my refugeH4498, my portionH4480 in the land of the livingH5315.
6Attend unto my cryH2199; for I am brought very lowH776: deliver meH413 from my persecutors; for they are stronger than I.
7Bring my soul outH4480 of prison, that I may giveH7181 thanks unto thy name: the righteous shall compass meH413 aboutH413; for thou shalt dealH3966 bountifully with meH413.
