Psalm 12

Revised Version 1895

For the Chief Musician; set to the Sheminith. A Psalm of David.

1Help, LORD; for the godly man ceaseth; for the faithful fail from among the children of men.
2They speak vanity every one with his neighbour: with flattering lip, and with a double heart, do they speak.
3The LORD shall cut offH7453 allH376 flatteringH2513 lipsH8193, the tongue that speaketh great things:
4Who have saidH1696, with our tongueH3956 will weH3605 prevail; our lipsH8193 are our own: who is lordH3068 over us?
5For the spoiling of the poor, for the sighing of the needy, now will I arise, saith the LORDH113; I will setH834 him in safety at whomH834 they puff.
6The words of the LORDH3068 are pure words; as silver tried in a furnace on the earth, purified seven times.
7Thou shalt keep them, O LORDH3068, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever.
8The wicked walk on everyH1755 side, when vileness is exalted among the sons of men.
