1Now theSpiritר֗וּחַRu.achH7307liftedוַתִּשָּׂ֨אva.ti.Sa'H5375me upH5375and broughtוַתָּבֵ֣אva.ta.Ve'H935me to the eastH6931gateשַׁ֨עַרSha.'arH8179of the Lord’sיְהוָ֤הYah.wehH3068houseבֵּית־beit-H1004which facedהַפּוֹנֶ֣הha.po.NehH6437eastwardH6931.And beholdוְהִנֵּה֙ve.hi.NehH2009, there weretwenty-fiveעֶשְׂרִ֥ים וַחֲמִשָּׁ֖ה'es.Rim va.cha.mi.ShahH6242 H2568menאִ֑ישׁ'IshH376at the entranceבְּפֶ֣תַחbe.Fe.tachH6607of the gateהַשַּׁ֔עַרha.Sha.'arH8179,and amongבְתוֹכָ֜םve.to.KhamH8432them I sawוָאֶרְאֶ֨הva.'er.'EhH7200Jaazaniahיַאֲזַנְיָ֧הya.'a.zan.YahH2970sonבֶן־ven-H1121of Azzurעַזֻּ֛ר'a.ZurH5809andPelatiahפְּלַטְיָ֥הוּpe.lat.Ya.huH6410sonבֶן־ven-H1121of Benaiahבְּנָיָ֖הוּbe.na.Ya.huH1141,leadersשָׂרֵ֖יsa.ReiH8269of the peopleהָעָֽם׃ פha.'AmH5971.

2Then He saidוַיֹּ֖אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to me, “Sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of manאָדָ֕ם'a.DamH120,theseאֵ֣לֶּה'E.lehH428are the menH376who deviseהַחֹשְׁבִ֥יםha.cho.she.VimH2803wrongdoingאָ֛וֶן'A.venH205andgiveוְהַיֹּעֲצִ֥יםve.hai.yo.'a.TzimH3289evilרָ֖עra'H7451adviceעֲצַת־'a.tzat-H6098in thisH2088cityבָּעִ֥ירba.'IrH5892,

3who sayהָאֹ֣מְרִ֔יםha.'O.me.RimH559, ‘The timeis not nearבְקָר֖וֹבve.ka.RovH7138to buildבְּנ֣וֹתbe.NotH1129housesבָּתִּ֑יםba.TimH1004.Thisהִ֣יאhi'H1931cityis the potהַסִּ֔ירha.SirH5518and we are the meatהַבָּשָֽׂר׃ha.ba.SarH1320.’

4Thereforeלָכֵ֖ןla.KhenH3651,prophesyהִנָּבֵ֣אhi.na.Ve'H5012againstעֲלֵיהֶ֑ם'a.lei.HemH5921them, prophesyהִנָּבֵ֖אhi.na.Ve'H5012,sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of manאָדָֽם׃'a.DamH120!”

5Then the Spiritר֣וּחַRu.achH7307of the Lordיְהוָה֒Yah.wehH3068fellוַתִּפֹּ֣לva.ti.PolH5307upon me, and He saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to me, “Sayאֱמֹר֙'e.MorH559, ‘ThisH3541isH3541whatH3541the Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068saysאָמַ֣ר'a.MarH559: “ThisH3651isH3651howH3651you thinkאֲמַרְתֶּ֖ם'a.mar.TemH559,houseבֵּ֣יתbeitH1004of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֑לYis.ra.'ElH3478, forI knowיְדַעְתִּֽיהָ׃ye.da'.Ti.haH3045yourthoughtsוּמַעֲל֥וֹת רֽוּחֲכֶ֖םu.ma.'a.Lot ru.cha.KhemH4609 H7307.

6You havemultipliedהִרְבֵּיתֶ֥םhir.bei.TemH7235your slainH2491in thisH2088cityבָּעִ֣ירba.'IrH5892,and filledוּמִלֵּאתֶ֥םu.mi.le.TemH4390its streetsחוּצֹתֶ֖יהָchu.tzo.Tei.haH2351with them.”

7Thereforeלָכֵ֗ןla.KhenH3651,thisH3541isH3541whatH3541the Lordאֲדֹנָ֣י'a.do.NaiH136GodH3068saysאָמַר֮'a.MarH559: “Yourslainחַלְלֵיכֶם֙cha.lei.KhemH2491whomאֲשֶׁ֣ר'a.SherH834you have laidשַׂמְתֶּ֣םsam.TemH7760in the midstH8432ofthe city are the meatהַבָּשָׂ֖רha.ba.SarH1320and thisוְהִ֣יאve.Hi'H1931cityis the potהַסִּ֑ירha.SirH5518; but I willbringהוֹצִ֥יאho.Tzi'H3318you outH3318of it.

8You havefearedיְרֵאתֶ֑םye.re.TemH3372a swordחֶ֖רֶבChe.revH2719; so I willbringאָבִ֣יא'a.Vi'H935a swordוְחֶ֙רֶב֙ve.Che.revH2719upon you,” the Lordאֲדֹנָ֥י'a.do.NaiH136 GodH3068declaresנְאֻ֖םne.'UmH5002.

9“And I will bringוְהוֹצֵאתִ֤יve.ho.tze.TiH3318you outH3318of the midstמִתּוֹכָ֔הּmi.to.KhahH8432ofthe city, and handבְּיַד־be.yad-H5414 H3027you overH5414tostrangersזָרִ֑יםza.RimH2114, andexecuteוְעָשִׂ֛יתִיve.'a.Si.tiH6213judgmentsשְׁפָטִֽים׃she.fa.TimH8201against you.

10You willfallתִּפֹּ֔לוּti.Po.luH5307by the swordבַּחֶ֣רֶבba.Che.revH2719.I will judgeאֶשְׁפּ֣וֹט'esh.PotH8199you to theborderגְּב֥וּלge.VulH1366of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֖לYis.ra.'ElH3478;so you shall knowוִֽידַעְתֶּ֖םvi.da'.TemH3045that I am the Lordיְהוָֽה׃Yah.wehH3068.

11Thisהִ֗יאHi'H1931city willnot be a potלְסִ֔ירle.SirH5518for you, norלֹֽא־lo'-H3808will you be meatלְבָשָׂ֑רle.va.SarH1320in the midstבְתוֹכָ֖הּve.to.KhahH8432of it; I will judgeאֶשְׁפֹּ֥ט'esh.PotH8199you to the borderגְּב֥וּלge.VulH1366of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֖לYis.ra.'ElH3478.

12So you will knowוִֽידַעְתֶּם֙vi.da'.TemH3045that I am the Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068;for you have not walkedהֲלַכְתֶּ֔םha.lakh.TemH1980in My statutesבְּחֻקַּי֙be.chu.KaiH2706,norH3808have youexecutedעֲשִׂיתֶ֑ם'a.si.TemH6213My ordinancesוּמִשְׁפָּטַ֖יu.mish.pa.TaiH4941,but you have actedעֲשִׂיתֶֽם׃'a.si.TemH6213in accordance with the ordinancesוּֽכְמִשְׁפְּטֵ֧יu.khe.mish.pe.TeiH4941of thenationsהַגּוֹיִ֛םha.go.YimH1471aroundסְבִיבוֹתֵיכֶ֖םse.vi.vo.tei.KhemH5439you.”’”

13Now it cameH1961aboutH1961,as I prophesiedכְּהִנָּ֣בְאִ֔יke.hi.Na.ve.'IH5012, thatPelatiahוּפְלַטְיָ֥הוּu.fe.lat.Ya.huH6410sonבֶן־ven-H1121of Benaiahבְּנָיָ֖הbe.na.YahH1141diedמֵ֑תMetH4191.Then I fellוָאֶפֹּ֨לva.'e.PolH5307on my faceפָּנַ֜יpa.NaiH6440and criedH2199outH2199with a loudגָּד֗וֹלga.DolH1419voiceקוֹל־kol-H6963,and saidוָאֹמַר֙va.'o.MarH559, “Ohאֲהָהּ֙'a.HahH162,Lordאֲדֹנָ֣י'a.do.NaiH136 GodH3068!Will You bringעֹשֶׂ֔ה'o.SehH6213the remnantשְׁאֵרִ֥יתshe.'e.RitH7611of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ פYis.ra.'ElH3478to a completeכָּלָה֙ka.LahH3617destructionH3617?”

Promise of Restoration

14Then the wordדְבַר־de.var-H1697of the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068cameוַיְהִ֥יvay.HiH1961to me, sayingלֵאמֹֽר׃le.MorH559,

15“Sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of manאָדָ֗ם'a.DamH120,your brothersאַחֶ֤יךָ'a.Chei.khaH251,your relativesאַחֶ֙יךָ֙'a.Chei.khaH251,your fellowH376exilesH1546,and the entireוְכָל־ve.kholH3605houseבֵּ֥יתbeitH1004of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֖לYis.ra.'ElH3478,allכֻּלֹּ֑הku.LohH3605of them, are thoseto whomאֲשֶׁר֩'a.SherH834the inhabitantsיֹשְׁבֵ֣יyo.she.VeiH3427of Jerusalemיְרוּשָׁלִַ֗םye.ru.sha.LimH3389have saidאָמְר֨וּ'a.me.RuH559, ‘KeepH7368farH7368from the Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068;thisהִ֛יאhi'H1931landהָאָ֖רֶץha.'A.retzH776has been givenנִתְּנָ֥הni.te.NahH5414to us as a possessionלְמוֹרָשָֽׁה׃ סle.mo.ra.ShahH4181.’

16Thereforeלָכֵ֣ןla.KhenH3651sayאֱמֹ֗ר'e.MorH559, ‘ThisH3541isH3541whatH3541the Lordאֲדֹנָ֣י'a.do.NaiH136 GodH3068saysאָמַר֮'a.MarH559: “Thoughכִּ֤יkiH3588I had removedH7368them farהִרְחַקְתִּים֙hir.chak.TimH7368away among the nationsבַּגּוֹיִ֔םba.go.YimH1471,and thoughוְכִ֥יve.KhiH3588I had scatteredהֲפִֽיצוֹתִ֖יםha.fi.tzo.TimH6327them among the countriesבָּאֲרָצ֑וֹתba.'a.ra.TzotH776, yet I was asanctuaryלְמִקְדָּ֣שׁle.mik.DashH4720for them for a littleמְעַ֔טme.'AtH4592whileH4592in the countriesבָּאֲרָצ֖וֹתba.'a.ra.TzotH776whereאֲשֶׁר־ שָֽׁם׃ ס'a.Sher- ShamH834 H8033they had goneבָּ֥אוּBa.'uH935.”’

17Thereforeלָכֵ֣ןla.KhenH3651sayאֱמֹ֗ר'e.MorH559, ‘ThisH3541isH3541whatH3541the Lordאֲדֹנָ֣י'a.do.NaiH136 GodH3068saysאָמַר֮'a.MarH559: “I willgatherוְקִבַּצְתִּ֤יve.ki.batz.TiH6908you from the peoplesהָ֣עַמִּ֔יםha.'a.MimH5971and assembleוְאָסַפְתִּ֣יve.'a.saf.TiH622you from the countriesהָ֣אֲרָצ֔וֹתha.'a.ra.TzotH776among whichאֲשֶׁ֥ר'a.SherH834you have been scatteredנְפֹצוֹתֶ֖םne.fo.tzo.TemH6327,and I will giveוְנָתַתִּ֥יve.na.ta.TiH5414you the landאַדְמַ֥ת'ad.MatH127of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃Yis.ra.'ElH3478.”’

18When they comeוּבָ֖אוּ־u.Va.'u-H935thereשָׁ֑מָּהSha.mahH8033, they willremoveוְהֵסִ֜ירוּve.he.Si.ruH5493allכָּל־kol-H3605itsdetestableשִׁקּוּצֶ֛יהָshi.ku.Tzei.haH8251thingsH8251and allכָּל־kol-H3605its abominationsתּוֹעֲבוֹתֶ֖יהָto.'a.vo.Tei.haH8441from it.

19And I willgiveוְנָתַתִּ֤יve.na.ta.TiH5414them oneאֶחָ֔ד'e.ChadH259heartלֵ֣בlevH3820,and putאֶתֵּ֣ן'e.TenH5414a newחֲדָשָׁ֖הcha.da.ShahH2319spiritוְר֥וּחַve.Ru.achH7307withinבְּקִרְבְּכֶ֑םbe.kir.be.KhemH7130them. And I will removeוַהֲסִ֨רֹתִ֜יva.ha.Si.ro.TiH5493theheartלֵ֤בlevH3820of stoneהָאֶ֙בֶן֙ha.'E.venH68from their fleshמִבְּשָׂרָ֔םmi.be.sa.RamH1320and giveוְנָתַתִּ֥יve.na.ta.TiH5414them aheartלֵ֥בlevH3820of fleshבָּשָֽׂר׃ba.SarH1320,

20soלְמַ֙עַן֙le.Ma.'anH4616thatH4616they maywalkיֵלֵ֔כוּye.Le.khuH1980in My statutesבְּחֻקֹּתַ֣יbe.chu.ko.TaiH2708,and keepיִשְׁמְר֖וּyish.me.RuH8104My ordinancesמִשְׁפָּטַ֥יmish.pa.TaiH4941and doוְעָשׂ֣וּve.'a.SuH6213them. Then they will beMy peopleלְעָ֔םle.'AmH5971,and I shall be their Godלֵאלֹהִֽים׃le.lo.HimH430.

21But as for those whose heartsH3820goהֹלֵ֑ךְho.LekhH1980after theirdetestableשִׁקּוּצֵיהֶ֛םshi.ku.tzei.HemH8251thingsH8251and abominationsוְתוֹעֲבוֹתֵיהֶ֖םve.to.'a.vo.tei.HemH8441, I willbringH5414their conductדַּרְכָּם֙dar.KamH1870downH5414on their headsבְּרֹאשָׁ֣םbe.ro.ShamH7218,”declaresנְאֻ֖םne.'UmH5002the Lordאֲדֹנָ֥י'a.do.NaiH136 GodH3068.

22Then the cherubimהַכְּרוּבִים֙ha.ke.ru.VimH3742liftedוַיִּשְׂא֤וּvai.yis.'UH5375upH5375their wingsכַּנְפֵיהֶ֔םkan.fei.HemH3671with the wheelsוְהָאֽוֹפַנִּ֖יםve.ha.'o.fa.NimH212besideלְעֻמָּתָ֑םle.'u.ma.TamH5980them, andthe gloryוּכְב֧וֹדu.khe.VodH3519of the Godאֱלֹהֵֽי־'e.lo.hei-H430of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֛לYis.ra.'ElH3478hoveredמִלְמָֽעְלָה׃mil.Ma.'e.lahH4480 H4605overעֲלֵיהֶ֖ם'a.lei.HemH5921them.

23Thegloryכְּב֣וֹדke.VodH3519of the Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068wentH5927upH5927from the midstתּ֣וֹךְTokhH8432of the cityהָעִ֑ירha.'IrH5892andstoodוַֽיַּעֲמֹד֙vai.ya.'a.ModH5975overH5921the mountainהָהָ֔רha.HarH2022whichאֲשֶׁ֖ר'a.SherH834is eastמִקֶּ֥דֶםmi.Ke.demH6924of the cityלָעִֽיר׃la.'IrH5892.

24And theSpiritוְר֣וּחַve.Ru.achH7307liftedנְשָׂאַ֗תְנִיne.sa.'At.niH5375me upH5375and broughtוַתְּבִיאֵ֤נִיva.te.vi.'E.niH935me in a visionבַּמַּרְאֶ֖הba.mar.'EhH4758by the Spiritבְּר֣וּחַbe.Ru.achH7307of Godאֱלֹהִ֑ים'E.lo.HimH430toChaldeaכַשְׂדִּ֙ימָה֙khas.Di.mahH3778,to the exilesהַגּוֹלָ֔הha.go.LahH1473.Then the visionהַמַּרְאֶ֖הha.mar.'EhH4758that I had seenרָאִֽיתִי׃ra.'I.tiH7200leftוַיַּ֙עַל֙vai.Ya.'alH5927 H4480me.

25And Itoldוָאֲדַבֵּ֖רva.'a.da.BerH1696the exilesהַגּוֹלָ֑הha.go.LahH1473allכָּל־kol-H3605the thingsדִּבְרֵ֥יdiv.ReiH1697that the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068had shownהֶרְאָֽנִי׃ פher.'A.niH7200me.
