2And the LORD saidוַיֹּ֖אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to meאֵלָ֑י'e.LaiH413, “Sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of manאָדָ֕ם'a.DamH120,theseאֵ֣לֶּה'E.lehH428are the menהָאֲנָשִׁ֞יםha.'a.na.ShimH582who plotהַחֹשְׁבִ֥יםha.cho.she.VimH2803evilאָ֛וֶן'A.venH205and giveוְהַיֹּעֲצִ֥יםve.hai.yo.'a.TzimH3289wickedרָ֖עra'H7451counselעֲצַת־'a.tzat-H6098in thisהַזֹּֽאת׃ha.ZotH2063cityבָּעִ֥ירba.'IrH5892.

3They are sayingהָאֹ֣מְרִ֔יםha.'O.me.RimH559, ‘Is notלֹ֥אlo'H3808the time nearבְקָר֖וֹבve.ka.RovH7138to buildבְּנ֣וֹתbe.NotH1129housesבָּתִּ֑יםba.TimH1004?The cityהִ֣יאhi'H1931isthe cooking potהַסִּ֔ירha.SirH5518,and weוַאֲנַ֖חְנוּva.'a.Nach.nuH587are the meatהַבָּשָֽׂר׃ha.ba.SarH1320.’

4Thereforeלָכֵ֖ןla.KhenH3651prophesyהִנָּבֵ֣אhi.na.Ve'H5012against themעֲלֵיהֶ֑ם'a.lei.HemH5921;prophesyהִנָּבֵ֖אhi.na.Ve'H5012,O sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of manאָדָֽם׃'a.DamH120!”

5And the Spiritר֣וּחַRu.achH7307of the LORDיְהוָה֒Yah.wehH3068fellוַתִּפֹּ֣לva.ti.PolH5307upon meעָלַי֮'a.LaiH5921and toldוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559meאֵלַ֗י'e.LaiH413to declareאֱמֹר֙'e.MorH559that this is whatכֹּה־koh-H3541the LORDיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068saysאָמַ֣ר'a.MarH559: “That is whatכֵּ֥ןkenH3651you are thinkingאֲמַרְתֶּ֖ם'a.mar.TemH559,O houseבֵּ֣יתbeitH1004of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֑לYis.ra.'ElH3478;and Iאֲנִ֥י'a.NiH589knowיְדַעְתִּֽיהָ׃ye.da'.Ti.haH3045the thoughtsוּמַעֲל֥וֹתu.ma.'a.LotH4609that arise in your mindsרֽוּחֲכֶ֖םru.cha.KhemH7307.

6You have multipliedהִרְבֵּיתֶ֥םhir.bei.TemH7235those you killedחַלְלֵיכֶ֖םcha.lei.KhemH2491in thisהַזֹּ֑אתha.ZotH2063cityבָּעִ֣ירba.'IrH5892and filledוּמִלֵּאתֶ֥םu.mi.le.TemH4390its streetsחוּצֹתֶ֖יהָchu.tzo.Tei.haH2351with the deadחָלָֽל׃ פcha.LalH2491.

7Thereforeלָכֵ֗ןla.KhenH3651this is whatכֹּֽה־koh-H3541the Lordאֲדֹנָ֣י'a.do.NaiH136GODיְהוִה֒Yah.wehH3069saysאָמַר֮'a.MarH559:The slainחַלְלֵיכֶם֙cha.lei.KhemH2491אֲשֶׁ֣ר'a.SherH834you have laidשַׂמְתֶּ֣םsam.TemH7760withinבְּתוֹכָ֔הּbe.to.KhahH8432this cityהֵ֥מָּהHe.mahH1992are the meatהַבָּשָׂ֖רha.ba.SarH1320,and the cityוְהִ֣יאve.Hi'H1931is the potהַסִּ֑ירha.SirH5518וְאֶתְכֶ֖םve.'et.KhemH853;but I will remove youהוֹצִ֥יאho.Tzi'H3318from itמִתּוֹכָֽהּ׃mi.to.KhahH8432.

8You fearיְרֵאתֶ֑םye.re.TemH3372the swordחֶ֖רֶבChe.revH2719,so I will bringאָבִ֣יא'a.Vi'H935the swordוְחֶ֙רֶב֙ve.Che.revH2719against youעֲלֵיכֶ֔ם'a.lei.KhemH5921,declaresנְאֻ֖םne.'UmH5002the Lordאֲדֹנָ֥י'a.do.NaiH136GODיְהוִֽה׃Yah.wehH3069.

9I will bring youוְהוֹצֵאתִ֤יve.ho.tze.TiH3318אֶתְכֶם֙'et.KhemH853out ofמִתּוֹכָ֔הּmi.to.KhahH8432the cityand deliverוְנָתַתִּ֥יve.na.ta.TiH5414youאֶתְכֶ֖ם'et.KhemH853into the handsבְּיַד־be.yad-H3027of foreignersזָרִ֑יםza.RimH2114,and I will executeוְעָשִׂ֛יתִיve.'a.Si.tiH6213judgmentsשְׁפָטִֽים׃she.fa.TimH8201against you.

10You will fallתִּפֹּ֔לוּti.Po.luH5307by the swordבַּחֶ֣רֶבba.Che.revH2719,and I will judgeאֶשְׁפּ֣וֹט'esh.PotH8199youאֶתְכֶ֑ם'et.KhemH853evenעַל־'al-H5921to the bordersגְּב֥וּלge.VulH1366of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֖לYis.ra.'ElH3478.Then you will knowוִֽידַעְתֶּ֖םvi.da'.TemH3045thatכִּֽי־ki-H3588Iאֲנִ֥י'a.NiH589am the LORDיְהוָֽה׃Yah.wehH3068.

11The cityהִ֗יאHi'H1931will notלֹֽא־lo'-H3808beתִהְיֶ֤הtih.YehH1961a potלְסִ֔ירle.SirH5518for you,nor will youוְאַתֶּ֛םve.'a.TemH859beתִּהְי֥וּtih.YuH1961the meatלְבָשָׂ֑רle.va.SarH1320within itבְתוֹכָ֖הּve.to.KhahH8432.I will judgeאֶשְׁפֹּ֥ט'esh.PotH8199youאֶתְכֶֽם׃'et.KhemH853even toאֶל־'el-H413the bordersגְּב֥וּלge.VulH1366of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֖לYis.ra.'ElH3478.

12Then you will knowוִֽידַעְתֶּם֙vi.da'.TemH3045thatכִּֽי־ki-H3588Iאֲנִ֣י'a.NiH589am the LORDיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068.Forאֲשֶׁ֤ר'a.SherH834you have neitherלֹ֣אlo'H3808followedהֲלַכְתֶּ֔םha.lakh.TemH1980My statutesבְּחֻקַּי֙be.chu.KaiH2706norלֹ֣אlo'H3808practicedעֲשִׂיתֶ֑ם'a.si.TemH6213My ordinancesוּמִשְׁפָּטַ֖יu.mish.pa.TaiH4941,but you have conformedעֲשִׂיתֶֽם׃'a.si.TemH6213to the ordinancesוּֽכְמִשְׁפְּטֵ֧יu.khe.mish.pe.TeiH4941of the nationsהַגּוֹיִ֛םha.go.YimH1471אֲשֶׁ֥ר'a.SherH834around youסְבִיבוֹתֵיכֶ֖םse.vi.vo.tei.KhemH5439.”

A Promise of Restoration

13Now as I wasוַֽיְהִי֙vay.HiH1961prophesyingכְּהִנָּ֣בְאִ֔יke.hi.Na.ve.'IH5012,Pelatiahוּפְלַטְיָ֥הוּu.fe.lat.Ya.huH6410sonבֶן־ven-H1121of Benaiahבְּנָיָ֖הbe.na.YahH1141diedמֵ֑תMetH4191.Then I fellוָאֶפֹּ֨לva.'e.PolH5307facedownעַל־ פָּנַ֜י'al- pa.NaiH5921 H6440and cried outוָאֶזְעַ֣קva.'ez.'AkH2199in a loudגָּד֗וֹל וָאֹמַר֙ga.Dol va.'o.MarH1419 H559voiceקוֹל־kol-H6963, “Ohאֲהָהּ֙'a.HahH162,Lordאֲדֹנָ֣י'a.do.NaiH136GODיְהוִ֔הYah.wehH3069,will Youאַתָּ֣ה'a.TahH859bringעֹשֶׂ֔ה אֵ֖ת'o.Seh 'etH6213 H854the remnantשְׁאֵרִ֥יתshe.'e.RitH7611of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ פYis.ra.'ElH3478to a complete endכָּלָה֙ka.LahH3617?”

14Then the wordדְבַר־de.var-H1697of the LORDיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068cameוַיְהִ֥יvay.HiH1961to meאֵלַ֥י'e.LaiH413,sayingלֵאמֹֽר׃le.MorH559,

15“Sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of manאָדָ֗ם'a.DamH120,your brothersאַחֶ֤יךָ'a.Chei.khaH251—your relativesאַחֶ֙יךָ֙'a.Chei.khaH251,your fellow exilesאַנְשֵׁ֣י גְאֻלָּתֶ֔ךָ'an.Shei ge.'u.la.Te.khaH582 H1353,and the wholeוְכָל־ve.kholH3605houseבֵּ֥יתbeitH1004of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֖לYis.ra.'ElH3478כֻּלֹּ֑הku.LohH3605—are those of whomאֲשֶׁר֩'a.SherH834the peopleיֹשְׁבֵ֣יyo.she.VeiH3427of Jerusalemיְרוּשָׁלִַ֗םye.ru.sha.LimH3389have saidאָמְר֨וּ'a.me.RuH559, ‘They are far awayרַֽחֲקוּ֙ra.cha.KuH7368fromמֵעַ֣לme.'AlH5921the LORDיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068;thisהִ֛יאhi'H1931landהָאָ֖רֶץha.'A.retzH776has been givenנִתְּנָ֥הni.te.NahH5414to usas a possessionלְמוֹרָשָֽׁה׃ סle.mo.ra.ShahH4181.’

16Thereforeלָכֵ֣ןla.KhenH3651declareאֱמֹ֗ר'e.MorH559that this is whatכֹּֽה־koh-H3541the Lordאֲדֹנָ֣י'a.do.NaiH136GODיְהוִה֒Yah.wehH3069saysאָמַר֮'a.MarH559: ‘Althoughכִּ֤יkiH3588I sent them far awayהִרְחַקְתִּים֙hir.chak.TimH7368among the nationsבַּגּוֹיִ֔ם וְכִ֥יba.go.Yim ve.KhiH1471 H3588and scattered themהֲפִֽיצוֹתִ֖יםha.fi.tzo.TimH6327among the countriesבָּאֲרָצ֑וֹתba.'a.ra.TzotH776,yet for a little whileמְעַ֔טme.'AtH4592I have beenוָאֱהִ֤יva.'e.HiH1961a sanctuaryלְמִקְדָּ֣שׁle.mik.DashH4720for themin the countriesבָּאֲרָצ֖וֹתba.'a.ra.TzotH776to whichאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834they have goneבָּ֥אוּ שָֽׁם׃ סBa.'u ShamH935 H8033.’

17Thereforeלָכֵ֣ןla.KhenH3651declareאֱמֹ֗ר'e.MorH559that this is whatכֹּֽה־koh-H3541the Lordאֲדֹנָ֣י'a.do.NaiH136GODיְהוִה֒Yah.wehH3069saysאָמַר֮'a.MarH559: ‘I will gatherוְקִבַּצְתִּ֤יve.ki.batz.TiH6908אֶתְכֶם֙'et.KhemH853you fromמִן־min-H4480the peoplesהָ֣עַמִּ֔יםha.'a.MimH5971and assembleוְאָסַפְתִּ֣יve.'a.saf.TiH622אֶתְכֶ֔ם'et.KhemH853you fromמִן־min-H4480the countriesהָ֣אֲרָצ֔וֹתha.'a.ra.TzotH776to whichאֲשֶׁ֥ר'a.SherH834you have been scatteredנְפֹצוֹתֶ֖םne.fo.tzo.TemH6327,and I will give backוְנָתַתִּ֥יve.na.ta.TiH5414to youאֶת־'et-H853the landאַדְמַ֥ת'ad.MatH127of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃Yis.ra.'ElH3478.’

18When they returnוּבָ֖אוּ־u.Va.'u-H935to itשָׁ֑מָּהSha.mahH8033,they will removeוְהֵסִ֜ירוּve.he.Si.ruH5493מִמֶּֽנָּה׃mi.Me.nahH4480אֶת־'et-H853allכָּל־kol-H3605its detestable thingsשִׁקּוּצֶ֛יהָshi.ku.Tzei.haH8251andוְאֶת־ve.'EtH853allכָּל־kol-H3605its abominationsתּוֹעֲבוֹתֶ֖יהָto.'a.vo.Tei.haH8441.

19And I will giveוְנָתַתִּ֤יve.na.ta.TiH5414themsinglenessאֶחָ֔ד'e.ChadH259of heartלֵ֣בlevH3820and putאֶתֵּ֣ן'e.TenH5414a newחֲדָשָׁ֖הcha.da.ShahH2319spiritוְר֥וּחַve.Ru.achH7307within themבְּקִרְבְּכֶ֑םbe.kir.be.KhemH7130;I will removeוַהֲסִ֨רֹתִ֜יva.ha.Si.ro.TiH5493their heartלֵ֤בlevH3820of stoneהָאֶ֙בֶן֙ha.'E.venH68מִבְּשָׂרָ֔םmi.be.sa.RamH1320and giveוְנָתַתִּ֥יve.na.ta.TiH5414thema heartלֵ֥בlevH3820of fleshבָּשָֽׂר׃ba.SarH1320,

20so thatלְמַ֙עַן֙le.Ma.'anH4616they may followיֵלֵ֔כוּye.Le.khuH1980וְאֶת־ve.'EtH853My statutesבְּחֻקֹּתַ֣יbe.chu.ko.TaiH2708,keepיִשְׁמְר֖וּyish.me.RuH8104My ordinancesמִשְׁפָּטַ֥יmish.pa.TaiH4941,and practice themוְעָשׂ֣וּve.'a.SuH6213אֹתָ֑ם'o.TamH853.Then they will beוְהָיוּ־ve.ha.yu-H1961Mypeopleלְעָ֔םle.'AmH5971,and Iוַאֲנִ֕יva.'a.NiH589will beאֶהְיֶ֥ה'eh.YehH1961theirGodלֵאלֹהִֽים׃le.lo.HimH430.

21But as forוְאֶל־ve.'el-H413those whose heartsלֵ֧בlevH3820pursueהֹלֵ֑ךְho.LekhH1980detestable thingsשִׁקּוּצֵיהֶ֛םshi.ku.tzei.HemH8251and abominationsוְתוֹעֲבוֹתֵיהֶ֖ם לִבָּ֣םve.to.'a.vo.tei.Hem li.BamH8441 H3820,I will bring their conductדַּרְכָּם֙dar.KamH1870downנָתַ֔תִּיna.Ta.tiH5414upon their own headsבְּרֹאשָׁ֣םbe.ro.ShamH7218,declaresנְאֻ֖םne.'UmH5002the Lordאֲדֹנָ֥י'a.do.NaiH136GODיְהוִֽה׃Yah.wehH3069.”

22Then the cherubimהַכְּרוּבִים֙ha.ke.ru.VimH3742אֶת־'et-H853,with the wheelsוְהָאֽוֹפַנִּ֖יםve.ha.'o.fa.NimH212beside themלְעֻמָּתָ֑םle.'u.ma.TamH5980,spreadוַיִּשְׂא֤וּvai.yis.'UH5375their wingsכַּנְפֵיהֶ֔םkan.fei.HemH3671,and the gloryוּכְב֧וֹדu.khe.VodH3519of the Godאֱלֹהֵֽי־'e.lo.hei-H430of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֛לYis.ra.'ElH3478was aboveעֲלֵיהֶ֖ם'a.lei.HemH5921themמִלְמָֽעְלָה׃mil.Ma.'e.lahH4605.

23And the gloryכְּב֣וֹדke.VodH3519of the LORDיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068rose upוַיַּ֙עַל֙vai.Ya.'alH5927fromמֵעַ֖לme.'AlH5921withinתּ֣וֹךְTokhH8432the cityהָעִ֑ירha.'IrH5892and stoodוַֽיַּעֲמֹד֙vai.ya.'a.ModH5975overעַל־'al-H5921the mountainהָהָ֔רha.HarH2022אֲשֶׁ֖ר'a.SherH834eastמִקֶּ֥דֶםmi.Ke.demH6924of the cityלָעִֽיר׃la.'IrH5892.

24And the Spiritוְר֣וּחַve.Ru.achH7307lifted me upנְשָׂאַ֗תְנִיne.sa.'At.niH5375and carried meוַתְּבִיאֵ֤נִיva.te.vi.'E.niH935backאֶל־'el-H413to Chaldeaכַשְׂדִּ֙ימָה֙khas.Di.mahH3778,to the exilesהַגּוֹלָ֔הha.go.LahH1473in the visionבַּמַּרְאֶ֖הba.mar.'EhH4758givenby the Spiritבְּר֣וּחַbe.Ru.achH7307of Godאֱלֹהִ֑ים'E.lo.HimH430.After the visionהַמַּרְאֶ֖הha.mar.'EhH4758אֲשֶׁ֥ר'a.SherH834רָאִֽיתִי׃ra.'I.tiH7200had gone upוַיַּ֙עַל֙vai.Ya.'alH5927from meמֵֽעָלַ֔יme.'a.LaiH5921,

25I toldוָאֲדַבֵּ֖ר אֶל־va.'a.da.Ber 'el-H1696 H413the exilesהַגּוֹלָ֑הha.go.LahH1473אֵ֛ת'etH853everythingכָּל־ דִּבְרֵ֥יkol- div.ReiH3605 H1697the LORDיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068אֲשֶׁ֥ר'a.SherH834had shown meהֶרְאָֽנִי׃ פher.'A.niH7200.
