Vision of God’s Glory Departing from the Temple
1Then I lookedוָאֶרְאֶ֗הva.'er.'EhH7200,and beholdוְהִנֵּ֤הve.hi.NehH2009, in theexpanseהָרָקִ֙יעַ֙ha.ra.Ki.a'H7549that was overעַל־'al-H5921the headsרֹ֣אשׁroshH7218of the cherubimהַכְּרֻבִ֔יםha.ke.ru.VimH3742something like asapphireסַפִּ֔ירsa.PirH5601stoneכְּאֶ֣בֶןke.'E.venH68,in appearanceכְּמַרְאֵ֖הke.mar.'EhH4758resemblingדְּמ֣וּתde.MutH1823athroneכִּסֵּ֑אki.Se'H3678,appearedנִרְאָ֖הnir.'AhH7200aboveעֲלֵיהֶֽם׃'a.lei.HemH5921them.
2And He spokeוַיֹּ֜אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to the manהָאִ֣ישׁ׀ha.'IshH376clothedלְבֻ֣שׁle.VushH3847in linenהַבַּדִּ֗יםha.ba.DimH906and saidוַיֹּ֡אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “Enterבֹּא֩bo'H935betweenבֵּינ֨וֹתbei.NotH996thewhirlingH1534wheelsלַגַּלְגַּ֜לla.gal.GalH1534underתַּ֣חַתTa.chatH8478thecherubimלַכְּר֗וּבla.ke.RuvH3742and fillוּמַלֵּ֨אu.ma.Le'H4390your handsחָפְנֶ֤יךָcha.fe.Nei.khaH2651withcoalsגַֽחֲלֵי־ga.cha.lei-H1513of fireאֵשׁ֙'eshH784from betweenמִבֵּינ֣וֹתmi.bei.NotH996the cherubimלַכְּרֻבִ֔יםla.ke.ru.VimH3742,and scatterוּזְרֹ֖קu.ze.RokH2236themoverעַל־'al-H5921the cityהָעִ֑ירha.'IrH5892.”And he enteredוַיָּבֹ֖אvai.ya.Vo'H935in my sightלְעֵינָֽי׃le.'ei.NaiH5869.
3Now the cherubimוְהַכְּרֻבִ֗יםve.ha.ke.ru.VimH3742were standingעֹֽמְדִ֛ים'o.me.DimH5975on the rightH3225sideH3225of thetempleלַבַּ֖יִתla.Ba.yitH1004when the manהָאִ֑ישׁha.'IshH376enteredבְּבֹא֣וֹbe.vo.'OH935,and the cloudוְהֶעָנָ֣ןve.he.'a.NanH6051filledמָלֵ֔אma.Le'H4390theinnerהַפְּנִימִֽית׃ha.pe.ni.MitH6442courtyardהֶחָצֵ֖רhe.cha.TzerH2691.
4Then thegloryכְּבוֹד־ke.Vod-H3519of the Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068wentH7311upH7311from the cherubהַכְּר֔וּבha.ke.RuvH3742to the thresholdמִפְתַּ֣ןmif.TanH4670of the templeהַבָּ֑יִתha.Ba.yitH1004, and thetempleהַבַּ֙יִת֙ha.Ba.yitH1004was filledוַיִּמָּלֵ֤אvai.yi.ma.Le'H4390with the cloudהֶ֣עָנָ֔ןhe.'a.NanH6051,and the courtyardוְהֶֽחָצֵר֙ve.he.cha.TzerH2691was filledמָֽלְאָ֔הmal.'AhH4390with thebrightnessנֹ֖גַהּNo.gahH5051of the gloryכְּב֥וֹדke.VodH3519of the Lordיְהוָֽה׃Yah.wehH3068.
5Moreover, the soundוְקוֹל֙ve.kOlH6963of the wingsכַּנְפֵ֣יkan.FeiH3671of the cherubimהַכְּרוּבִ֔יםha.ke.ru.VimH3742was heardנִשְׁמַ֕עnish.Ma'H8085as farעַד־'ad-H5704as the outerהַחִיצֹנָ֑הha.chi.tzo.NahH2435courtyardהֶחָצֵ֖רhe.cha.TzerH2691, like thevoiceכְּק֥וֹלke.KolH6963ofGodאֵל־'el-H410Almightyשַׁדַּ֖יsha.DaiH7706when He speaksבְּדַבְּרֽוֹ׃be.da.be.RoH1696.
6And it cameH1961aboutH1961when He commandedבְּצַוֹּתוֹ֙be.tza.vo.ToH6680the manהָאִ֤ישׁha.'IshH376clothedלְבֻֽשׁ־le.vush-H3847in linenהַבַּדִּים֙ha.ba.DimH906,sayingלֵאמֹ֔רle.MorH559, “Takeקַ֥חkachH3947fireאֵשׁ֙'eshH784from betweenמִבֵּינ֣וֹתmi.bei.NotH996the whirlingH1534wheelsלַגַּלְגַּ֔לla.gal.GalH1534,from betweenמִבֵּינ֖וֹתmi.bei.NotH996the cherubimלַכְּרוּבִ֑יםla.ke.ru.VimH3742,”he enteredוַיָּבֹא֙vai.ya.Vo'H935and stoodוַֽיַּעֲמֹ֔דvai.ya.'a.ModH5975besideאֵ֖צֶל'E.tzelH681a wheelהָאוֹפָֽן׃ha.'o.FanH212.
7Then the cherubהַכְּר֨וּבha.ke.RuvH3742reachedH7971outH7971with his handיָד֜וֹya.DoH3027from betweenמִבֵּינ֣וֹתmi.bei.NotH996the cherubimלַכְּרוּבִ֗יםla.ke.ru.VimH3742to the fireהָאֵשׁ֙ha.'EshH784whichאֲשֶׁר֙'a.SherH834was betweenבֵּינ֣וֹתbei.NotH996the cherubimהַכְּרֻבִ֔יםha.ke.ru.VimH3742,tookוַיִּשָּׂא֙vai.yi.Sa'H5375some coalsand putוַיִּתֵּ֔ןvai.yi.TenH5414theminto the handsחָפְנֵ֖יcha.fe.NeiH2651of the one clothedלְבֻ֣שׁle.VushH3847in linenהַבַּדִּ֑יםha.ba.DimH906;and he tookוַיִּקַּ֖חvai.yi.KachH3947themand wentH3318outH3318.
9Then I lookedוָאֶרְאֶ֗הva.'er.'EhH7200,and beholdוְהִנֵּ֨הve.hi.NehH2009,fourאַרְבָּעָ֣ה'ar.ba.'AhH702wheelsH212besideH681the cherubimH3742,oneH259wheelH212besideH681eachH259cherubH3742;and the appearanceוּמַרְאֵה֙u.mar.'EhH4758of the wheelsH212waslike the gleamכְּעֵ֖יןke.'EinH5869of aTarshishH8659stoneאֶ֥בֶן'E.venH68.
11When they movedבְּלֶכְתָּ֗םbe.lekh.TamH1980,they wentיֵלֵ֔כוּye.Le.khuH1980in any oftheir fourאַרְבַּ֤עַת'ar.Ba.'atH702directionsרִבְעֵיהֶם֙riv.'ei.HemH7253withoutלֹ֥אlo'H3808turningיִסַּ֖בּוּyi.Sa.buH5437as they wentבְּלֶכְתָּ֑םbe.lekh.TamH1980;but they followedאַחֲרָ֣יו יֵלֵ֔כוּ'a.cha.Rav ye.Le.khuH310H1980in the directionהַמָּק֞וֹםha.ma.KomH4725whichאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834they facedיִפְנֶ֤ה הָרֹאשׁ֙yif.Neh ha.roShH6437H7218,withoutלֹ֥אlo'H3808turningיִסַּ֖בּוּyi.Sa.buH5437as they wentבְּלֶכְתָּֽם׃be.lekh.TamH1980.
12And theirwholeוְכָל־ve.kholH3605bodyבְּשָׂרָם֙be.sa.RamH1320,their backsוְגַבֵּהֶ֔םve.ga.be.HemH1354,their handsוִֽידֵיהֶ֖םvi.dei.HemH3027,their wingsוְכַנְפֵיהֶ֑םve.khan.fei.HemH3671and thewheelsוְהָאֽוֹפַנִּ֗יםve.ha.'o.fa.NimH212werecoveredמְלֵאִ֤יםme.le.'ImH4392with eyesעֵינַ֙יִם֙'ei.Na.yimH5869allH5439aroundH5439,the wheelsאוֹפַנֵּיהֶֽם׃'o.fa.nei.HemH212belonging to allfourלְאַרְבַּעְתָּ֖םle.'ar.ba'.TamH702of them.
14AndeachH259oneH259had fourוְאַרְבָּעָ֥הve.'ar.ba.'AhH702facesפָנִ֖יםfa.NimH6440.The firstH259faceפְּנֵ֨יpe.NeiH6440wasthe faceפְּנֵ֣יpe.NeiH6440of a cherubהַכְּר֗וּבha.ke.RuvH3742,the secondהַשֵּׁנִי֙ha.she.NiH8145faceוּפְנֵ֤יu.fe.NeiH6440wasthe faceפְּנֵ֣יpe.NeiH6440of a humanאָדָ֔ם'a.DamH120,the thirdוְהַשְּׁלִישִׁי֙ve.ha.she.li.ShiH7992,the faceפְּנֵ֣יpe.NeiH6440of a lionH743,and the fourthוְהָרְבִיעִ֖יve.ha.re.vi.'IH7243,the faceפְּנֵי־pe.nei-H6440of an eagleנָֽשֶׁר׃Na.sherH5404.
16Now when the cherubimהַכְּרוּבִ֔יםha.ke.ru.VimH3742movedוּבְלֶ֙כֶת֙u.ve.Le.khetH1980,the wheelsהָאוֹפַנִּ֖יםha.'o.fa.NimH212would moveיֵלְכ֥וּye.le.KhuH1980besideאֶצְלָ֑ם'etz.LamH681them; also when the cherubimהַכְּרוּבִ֜יםha.ke.ru.VimH3742liftedוּבִשְׂאֵ֨תu.vis.'EtH5375upH5375their wingsכַּנְפֵיהֶ֗םkan.fei.HemH3671to riseלָרוּם֙la.RumH7311from the groundהָאָ֔רֶץha.'A.retzH776,the wheelsהָאוֹפַנִּ֛יםha.'o.fa.NimH212themselves would not turnיִסַּ֧בּוּyi.Sa.buH5437awayH5437from besideמֵאֶצְלָֽם׃me.'etz.LamH681them.
17When the cherubimstoodH5975stillבְּעָמְדָ֣םbe.'a.me.DamH5975,the wheels would standH5975stillיַעֲמֹ֔דוּya.'a.Mo.duH5975;and when they roseיֵר֣וֹמּוּye.Ro.muH7426up,the wheels would riseוּבְרוֹמָ֖םu.ve.ro.MamH7311with them, becauseכִּ֛יkiH3588the spiritר֥וּחַRu.achH7307of the livingH2421beingsH2421was in them.
19Whenthe cherubimהַכְּרוּבִ֣יםha.ke.ru.VimH3742departedבְּצֵאתָ֔םbe.tze.TamH3318,they liftedוַיִּשְׂא֣וּvai.yis.'UH5375their wingsכַּ֠נְפֵיהֶםKan.fei.hemH3671and roseH7426upH7426from the groundהָאָ֤רֶץha.'A.retzH776in my sightלְעֵינַי֙le.'ei.NaiH5869with the wheelsוְהָאֽוֹפַנִּ֖יםve.ha.'o.fa.NimH212besideלְעֻמָּתָ֑םle.'u.ma.TamH5980them; and they stoodH5975stillוַֽיַּעֲמֹ֗דvai.ya.'a.ModH5975at the entranceפֶּ֣תַחPe.tachH6607of the eastהַקַּדְמוֹנִ֔יha.kad.mo.NiH6931gateשַׁ֤עַרSha.'arH8179of the Lord’sיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068houseבֵּית־beit-H1004,and the gloryוּכְב֧וֹדu.khe.VodH3519of the Godאֱלֹהֵֽי־'e.lo.hei-H430of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֛לYis.ra.'ElH3478hoveredמִן־ מִלְמָֽעְלָה׃min- mil.Ma.'e.lahH4480H4605overעֲלֵיהֶ֖ם'a.lei.HemH5921them.
20Theseהִ֣יאhi'H1931are thelivingH2421beingsH2421that I sawרָאִ֛יתִיra.'I.tiH7200beneathתַּ֥חַתTa.chatH8478the Godאֱלֹהֵֽי־'e.lo.hei-H430of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֖לYis.ra.'ElH3478bythe riverבִּֽנְהַר־bin.har-H5104Chebarכְּבָ֑רke.VarH3529;so I knewוָאֵדַ֕עva.'e.Da'H3045that they werecherubimכְרוּבִ֖יםkhe.ru.VimH3742.
