23When they cameוַיָּבֹ֣אוּvai.ya.Vo.'uH935toMarahמָרָ֔תָהma.Ra.tahH4785,they couldיָֽכְל֗וּya.khe.LuH3201not drinkלִשְׁתֹּ֥תlish.TotH8354the watersמַ֙יִם֙ma.yimH4325of Marahמִמָּרָ֔הmi.ma.RahH4785,becauseכִּ֥יkiH3588they werebitterמָרִ֖יםma.RimH4751;for thatH3651reasonH3651it was namedקָרָֽא־ שְׁמָ֖הּka.ra'- she.MahH7121 H8034Marahמָרָֽה׃ma.RahH4785.

24So the peopleהָעָ֛םha.'AmH5971grumbledוַיִּלֹּ֧נוּvai.yi.Lo.nuH3885at Mosesמֹשֶׁ֥הmo.ShehH4872,sayingלֵּאמֹ֖רle.MorH559, “Whatמַה־mah-H4100are we to drinkנִּשְׁתֶּֽה׃nish.TehH8354?”

25Then hecriedH6817outH6817to the Lordיְהוָ֗הYah.wehH3068,and the Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068showedוַיּוֹרֵ֤הוּvai.yo.Re.huH3384hima treeעֵ֔ץ'EtzH6086;and he threwוַיַּשְׁלֵךְ֙vai.yash.leKhH7993itinto the watersהַמַּ֔יִםha.Ma.yimH4325,and the watersהַמָּ֑יִםha.Ma.yimH4325becameH4985sweetוַֽיִּמְתְּק֖וּvai.yim.te.KuH4985.Thereשָׁ֣םshamH8033Hemadeשָׂ֥םsamH7760for them a statuteחֹ֥קchokH2706and regulationוּמִשְׁפָּ֖טu.mish.PatH4941,and thereוְשָׁ֥םve.ShamH8033Hetestedנִסָּֽהוּ׃ni.Sa.huH5254them.

26And He saidוַיֹּאמֶר֩vai.yo.MerH559, “Ifאִם־'im-H518you will listenשָׁמ֨וֹעַsha.Mo.a'H8085carefullyתִּשְׁמַ֜עtish.Ma'H8085to the voiceלְק֣וֹל׀le.KolH6963of the Lordיְהוָ֣הYah.wehH3068your Godאֱלֹהֶ֗יךָ'e.lo.Hei.khaH430,and doתַּעֲשֶׂ֔הta.'a.SehH6213what is rightוְהַיָּשָׁ֤רve.hai.ya.SharH3477in His sightבְּעֵינָיו֙be.'ei.NavH5869,and listenוְהַֽאֲזַנְתָּ֙ve.ha.'a.zan.TaH238to His commandmentsלְמִצְוֹתָ֔יוle.mitz.vo.TavH4687,and keepוְשָׁמַרְתָּ֖ve.sha.mar.TaH8104allכָּל־kol-H3605His statutesחֻקָּ֑יוchu.KavH2706,I will putשַׂ֤מְתִּיSam.tiH7760noneכָּֽל־ לֹא־kal- lo'-H3605 H3808of the diseasesהַמַּֽחֲלָ֞הha.ma.cha.LahH4245on you whichאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834I have putאָשִׂ֣ים'a.SimH7760on the Egyptiansבְמִצְרַ֙יִם֙ve.mitz.Ra.yimH4714; for I,the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068,am your healerרֹפְאֶֽךָ׃ סro.fe.'E.khaH7495.”

27Then they cameוַיָּבֹ֣אוּvai.ya.Vo.'uH935toElimאֵילִ֔מָה'ei.Li.mahH362whereוְשָׁ֗םve.ShamH8033there weretwelveשְׁתֵּ֥ים עֶשְׂרֵ֛הshe.Teim 'es.RehH8147 H6240springsH5871of waterמַ֖יִםMa.yimH4325and seventyוְשִׁבְעִ֣יםve.shiv.'ImH7657dateH8558palmsתְּמָרִ֑יםte.ma.RimH8558,and they campedוַיַּחֲנוּ־vai.ya.cha.nu-H2583thereשָׁ֖םshamH8033besideעַל־'al-H5921the watersהַמָּֽיִם׃ha.Ma.yimH4325.
