1In the thirdהַשְּׁלִישִׁ֔יha.she.li.ShiH7992monthבַּחֹ֙דֶשׁ֙ba.Cho.deshH2320after the sonsבְּנֵי־be.nei-H1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֖לYis.ra.'ElH3478had goneH3318outH3318of the landמֵאֶ֣רֶץme.'E.retzH776of Egyptמִצְרָ֑יִםmitz.Ra.yimH4714,on that very dayבַּיּ֣וֹםbai.YomH3117they cameבָּ֖אוּBa.'uH935into the wildernessמִדְבַּ֥רmid.BarH4057ofSinaiסִינָֽי׃si.NaiH5514.

2When they setוַיִּסְע֣וּvai.yis.'UH5265outH5265fromRephidimמֵרְפִידִ֗יםme.re.fi.DimH7508,they cameוַיָּבֹ֙אוּ֙vai.ya.Vo.'uH935to the wildernessמִדְבַּ֣רmid.BarH4057of Sinaiסִינַ֔יsi.NaiH5514and campedוַֽיַּחֲנ֖וּvai.ya.cha.NuH2583in the wildernessבַּמִּדְבָּ֑רba.mid.BarH4057;and thereשָׁ֥םshamH8033Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֖לYis.ra.'ElH3478campedוַיִּֽחַן־vai.yi.chan-H2583in frontנֶ֥גֶדNe.gedH5048ofthe mountainהָהָֽר׃ha.HarH2022.

3And Mosesוּמֹשֶׁ֥הu.mo.ShehH4872wentH5927upH5927to Godהָאֱלֹהִ֑יםha.'E.lo.HimH430, andthe Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068calledוַיִּקְרָ֨אvai.yik.Ra'H7121to him from the mountainהָהָ֣רha.HarH2022,sayingלֵאמֹ֔רle.MorH559, “ThisH3541isH3541whatH3541you shall sayתֹאמַר֙to.MarH559to the houseלְבֵ֣יתle.VeitH1004of Jacobיַעֲקֹ֔בya.'a.KoH3290and tellוְתַגֵּ֖ידve.ta.GeidH5046the sonsלִבְנֵ֥יliv.NeiH1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃Yis.ra.'ElH3478:

4‘You yourselvesH864have seenרְאִיתֶ֔םre.'i.TemH7200whatאֲשֶׁ֥ר'a.SherH834I didעָשִׂ֖יתִי'a.Si.tiH6213to the Egyptiansלְמִצְרָ֑יִםle.mitz.Ra.yimH4714, and howI carriedוָאֶשָּׂ֤אva.'e.Sa'H5375you oneagles’נְשָׁרִ֔יםne.sha.RimH5404wingsכַּנְפֵ֣יkan.FeiH3671,and broughtוָאָבִ֥אva.'a.Vi'H935you to Myself.

5Nowוְעַתָּ֗הve.'a.TahH6258then,ifאִם־'im-H518you will indeedשָׁמ֤וֹעַsha.Mo.a'H8085obeyתִּשְׁמְעוּ֙tish.me.'UH8085My voiceבְּקֹלִ֔יbe.ko.LiH6963andkeepוּשְׁמַרְתֶּ֖םu.she.mar.TemH8104My covenantבְּרִיתִ֑יbe.ri.TiH1285, then you shall be Myown possessionסְגֻלָּה֙se.gu.LahH5459amongH4480allמִכָּל־mi.kolH3605the peoplesהָ֣עַמִּ֔יםha.'a.MimH5971, forallכָּל־kol-H3605the earthהָאָֽרֶץ׃ha.'A.retzH776is Mine;

6and you shall be to Mea kingdomמַמְלֶ֥כֶתmam.Le.khetH4467of priestsכֹּהֲנִ֖יםko.ha.NimH3548anda holyקָד֑וֹשׁka.Do.oshH6918nationוְג֣וֹיve.GoyH1471.’Theseאֵ֚לֶּה'E.lehH428are the wordsהַדְּבָרִ֔יםha.de.va.RimH1697that you shall speakתְּדַבֵּ֖רte.da.BerH1696to the sonsבְּנֵ֥יbe.NeiH1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃Yis.ra.'ElH3478.”

7So Mosesמֹשֶׁ֔הmo.ShehH4872cameוַיָּבֹ֣אvai.ya.Vo'H935and calledוַיִּקְרָ֖אvai.yik.Ra'H7121the eldersלְזִקְנֵ֣יle.zik.NeiH2205of the peopleהָעָ֑םha.'AmH5971,and setוַיָּ֣שֶׂםvai.Ya.semH7760beforeלִפְנֵיהֶ֗םlif.nei.HemH6440them allכָּל־kol-H3605theseהָאֵ֔לֶּהha.'E.lehH428wordsהַדְּבָרִ֣יםha.de.va.RimH1697whichאֲשֶׁ֥ר'a.SherH834the Lordיְהוָֽה׃Yah.wehH3068had commandedצִוָּ֖הוּtzi.Va.huH6680him.

8Thenallכָל־khol-H3605the peopleהָעָ֤םha.'AmH5971answeredוַיַּעֲנ֨וּvai.ya.'a.NuH6030togetherH3164and saidוַיֹּ֣אמְר֔וּvai.Yo.me.RuH559, “Allכֹּ֛לkolH3605that the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068has spokenדִּבֶּ֥רdi.BerH1696we will doנַעֲשֶׂ֑הna.'a.SehH6213!”And Mosesמֹשֶׁ֛הmo.ShehH4872broughtH7725backוַיָּ֧שֶׁבvai.Ya.shevH7725the wordsדִּבְרֵ֥יdiv.ReiH1697of the peopleהָעָ֖םha.'AmH5971to the Lordיְהוָֽה׃Yah.wehH3068.

9Then the Lordיְהוָ֜הYah.wehH3068saidוַיֹּ֨אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to Mosesמֹשֶׁ֗הmo.ShehH4872, “Beholdהִנֵּ֨הhi.NehH2009,I will comeבָּ֣אba'H935to you ina thickH5672cloudהֶֽעָנָן֒he.'a.NanH6051,soH5668thatH5668thepeopleהָעָם֙ha.'AmH5971may hearיִשְׁמַ֤עyish.Ma'H8085when I speakבְּדַבְּרִ֣יbe.da.be.RiH1696with you and may alsoוְגַם־ve.gam-H1571trustיַאֲמִ֣ינוּya.'a.Mi.nuH539in you foreverלְעוֹלָ֑םle.'o.LamH5769.”Then Mosesמֹשֶׁ֛הmo.ShehH4872toldוַיַּגֵּ֥דvai.ya.GedH5046the wordsדִּבְרֵ֥יdiv.ReiH1697of the peopleהָעָ֖םha.'AmH5971to the Lordיְהוָֽה׃Yah.wehH3068.

10The Lordיְהוָ֤הYah.wehH3068also saidוַיֹּ֨אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to Mosesמֹשֶׁה֙mo.ShehH4872, “Goלֵ֣ךְlekhH1980to the peopleהָעָ֔םha.'AmH5971andconsecrateוְקִדַּשְׁתָּ֥םve.ki.dash.TamH6942them todayהַיּ֖וֹםhai.YomH3117and tomorrowוּמָחָ֑רu.ma.CharH4279, and have themwashוְכִבְּס֖וּve.khi.be.SuH3526their garmentsשִׂמְלֹתָֽם׃sim.lo.TamH8071;

11and have them readyנְכֹנִ֖יםne.kho.NimH3559for the thirdהַשְּׁלִישִׁ֑יha.she.li.ShiH7992dayלַיּ֣וֹםlai.YomH3117, for onthe thirdהַשְּׁלִישִׁ֗יha.she.li.ShiH7992dayבַּיּ֣וֹםbai.YomH3117the Lordיְהוָ֛הYah.wehH3068will comeיֵרֵ֧דye.RedH3381downH3381on Mountהַ֥רharH2022Sinaiסִינָֽי׃si.NaiH5514in the sightלְעֵינֵ֥יle.'ei.NeiH5869of allכָל־khol-H3605the peopleהָעָ֖םha.'AmH5971.

12But you shall setוְהִגְבַּלְתָּ֤ve.hig.bal.TaH1379boundariesH1379for the peopleהָעָם֙ha.'AmH5971allH5439aroundH5439,sayingלֵאמֹ֔רle.MorH559, ‘Bewareהִשָּׁמְר֥וּhi.sha.me.RuH8104that you do not goעֲל֥וֹתa.LotH5927upH5927on the mountainבָּהָ֖רba.HarH2022or touchוּנְגֹ֣עַu.ne.Go.a'H5060the borderבְּקָצֵ֑הוּbe.ka.Tze.huH7097of it;whoeverכָּל־kol-H3605touchesהַנֹּגֵ֥עַha.no.Ge.a'H5060the mountainבָּהָ֖רba.HarH2022shall certainlyH4191be putH4191toH4191deathH4191.

13NoH3808handיָ֗דYadH3027shall touchתִגַּ֨עti.Ga'H5060him, buthe shall certainlyסָק֤וֹלsa.KolH5619be stonedיִסָּקֵל֙yi.sa.KelH5619orאוֹ־'ov-H176shotיָרֹ֣הya.RohH3384throughיִיָּרֶ֔הyi.ya.RehH3384;whetherאִם־'im-H518animalבְּהֵמָ֥הbe.he.MahH929orאִם־'im-H518personאִ֖ישׁ'ishH376, the violatorshall not liveיִחְיֶ֑הyich.YehH2421.’When the ram’sהַיֹּבֵ֔לhai.yo.VelH3104hornH3104soundsH4900aH4900longH4900blastH4900,they shall comeH5927upH5927tothe mountainבָהָֽר׃va.HarH2022.”

14So Mosesמֹשֶׁ֛הmo.ShehH4872wentH3381downוַיֵּ֧רֶדvai.Ye.redH3381from the mountainהָהָ֖רha.HarH2022to the peopleהָעָ֑םha.'AmH5971and consecratedוַיְקַדֵּשׁ֙vay.ka.DeshH6942the peopleהָעָ֔םha.'AmH5971,and they washedוַֽיְכַבְּס֖וּvay.kha.be.SuH3526their garmentsשִׂמְלֹתָֽם׃sim.lo.TamH8071.

15He also saidוַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙vai.Yo.merH559to the peopleהָעָ֔םha.'AmH5971, “Be readyנְכֹנִ֖יםne.kho.NimH3559for the thirdלִשְׁלֹ֣שֶׁתlish.Lo.shetH7969dayיָמִ֑יםya.MimH3117;do not goH5066nearH5066a womanאִשָּֽׁה׃'i.ShahH802.”

16So it cameH1961aboutH1961on the thirdהַשְּׁלִישִׁ֜יha.she.li.ShiH7992dayבַיּ֨וֹםvai.YomH3117,when it was morningהַבֹּ֗קֶרha.Bo.kerH1242, that there werethunderקֹלֹ֨תko.LotH6963and lightningH1300flashesH1300and a thickכָּבֵד֙ka.VedH3515cloudוְעָנָ֤ןve.'a.NanH6051over the mountainהָהָ֔רha.HarH2022and a veryמְאֹ֑דme.'OdH3966loudחָזָ֣קcha.ZakH2389trumpetשֹׁפָ֖רsho.FarH7782soundוְקֹ֥לve.KolH6963,so that allכָּל־kol-H3605the peopleהָעָ֖םha.'AmH5971whoאֲשֶׁ֥ר'a.SherH834werein the campבַּֽמַּחֲנֶֽה׃Ba.ma.cha.NehH4264trembledוַיֶּחֱרַ֥דvai.ye.che.RadH2729.

17And Mosesמֹשֶׁ֧הmo.ShehH4872broughtH3318the peopleהָעָ֛םha.'AmH5971outH3318of the campהַֽמַּחֲנֶ֑הha.ma.cha.NehH4264to meetלִקְרַ֥אתlik.RatH7122Godהָֽאֱלֹהִ֖יםha.'E.lo.HimH430,and they stoodוַיִּֽתְיַצְּב֖וּvai.yit.ya.tze.VuH3320at thefootבְּתַחְתִּ֥יתbe.tach.TitH8482of the mountainהָהָֽר׃ha.HarH2022.

18Now Mountוְהַ֤רve.HarH2022Sinaiסִינַי֙si.NaiH5514wasallכֻּלּ֔וֹku.LoH3605in smokeעָשַׁ֣ן'a.ShanH6225becauseמִ֠פְּנֵי אֲשֶׁ֨רMi.pe.nei 'a.SherH4480 H6440 H834the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068descendedיָרַ֥דya.RadH3381upon itin fireבָּאֵ֑שׁba.'EshH784;and its smokeעֲשָׁנוֹ֙a.sha.NoH6227ascendedוַיַּ֤עַלvai.Ya.'alH5927likethe smokeכְּעֶ֣שֶׁןke.'E.shenH6227of a furnaceהַכִּבְשָׁ֔ןha.kiv.ShanH3536, andthe entireכָּל־kol-H3605mountainהָהָ֖רha.HarH2022quakedוַיֶּחֱרַ֥דvai.ye.che.RadH2729violentlyמְאֹֽד׃me.'OdH3966.

19When the soundק֣וֹלKolH6963of the trumpetהַשּׁוֹפָ֔רha.sho.FarH7782grewהוֹלֵ֖ךְho.LekhH1980louderH2388and louderמְאֹ֑דme.'OdH3966,Mosesמֹשֶׁ֣הmo.ShehH4872spokeיְדַבֵּ֔רye.da.BerH1696, andGodוְהָאֱלֹהִ֖יםve.ha.'E.lo.HimH430answeredיַעֲנֶ֥נּוּya.'a.Ne.nuH6030him withthunderבְקֽוֹל׃ve.KolH6963.

20Thenthe Lordיְהוָ֛הYah.wehH3068cameH3381downוַיֵּ֧רֶדvai.Ye.redH3381on Mountהַ֥רharH2022Sinaiסִינַ֖יsi.NaiH5514,to the topרֹ֣אשׁroshH7218of the mountainהָהָ֑רha.HarH2022;and the Lordיְהוָ֧הYah.wehH3068calledוַיִּקְרָ֨אvai.yik.Ra'H7121Mosesלְמֹשֶׁ֛הle.mo.ShehH4872to the topרֹ֥אשׁroshH7218of the mountainהָהָ֖רha.HarH2022,and Mosesמֹשֶֽׁה׃mo.ShehH4872wentH5927upH5927.

21Then the Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068spokeוַיֹּ֤אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to Mosesמֹשֶׁ֔הmo.ShehH4872: “Goרֵ֖דredH3381downH3381,warnהָעֵ֣דha.'EdH5749the peopleבָּעָ֑םba.'AmH5971,soH6435thatH6435they do notH6435breakיֶהֶרְס֤וּye.her.SuH2040throughH2040to the Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068to stareלִרְא֔וֹתlir.'otH7200,and manyרָֽב׃RavH7227of themperishוְנָפַ֥לve.na.FalH5307.

22Alsoוְגַ֧םve.GamH1571have thepriestsהַכֹּהֲנִ֛יםha.ko.ha.NimH3548who approach the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068consecrateיִתְקַדָּ֑שׁוּyit.ka.Da.shuH6942themselves, orH6435elseH6435the Lordיְהוָֽה׃Yah.wehH3068will breakיִפְרֹ֥ץyif.RotzH6555outH6555against them.”

23And Mosesמֹשֶׁה֙mo.ShehH4872saidוַיֹּ֤אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to the Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068, “The peopleהָעָ֔םha.'AmH5971cannotלֹא־ יוּכַ֣לlo'- yu.KhalH3201 H3808comeH5927upH5927to Mountהַ֣רharH2022Sinaiסִינָ֑יsi.NaiH5514, for Youwarnedהַעֵדֹ֤תָהha.'e.Do.tahH5749us, sayingלֵאמֹ֔רle.MorH559, ‘Setהַגְבֵּ֥לhag.BelH1379boundariesH1379around the mountainהָהָ֖רha.HarH2022and consecrateוְקִדַּשְׁתּֽוֹ׃ve.ki.dash.ToH6942it.’”

24Then the Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068saidוַיֹּ֨אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to him, “Goלֶךְ־ רֵ֔דlekh- RedH1980 H3381downH3381and comeוְעָלִ֥יתָve.'a.Li.taH5927upH5927again,you and Aaronוְאַהֲרֹ֣ןve.'a.ha.RonH175with you; but do not let thepriestsוְהַכֹּהֲנִ֣יםve.ha.ko.ha.NimH3548and the peopleוְהָעָ֗םve.ha.'AmH5971breakיֶֽהֶרְס֛וּye.her.SuH2040throughH2040to comeלַעֲלֹ֥תla.'a.LotH5927upH5927to the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068,orפֶּן־pen-H6435He will breakיִפְרָץ־yif.rotz-H6555outH6555against them.”

25So Mosesמֹשֶׁ֖הmo.ShehH4872wentH3381downוַיֵּ֥רֶדvai.Ye.redH3381to the peopleהָעָ֑םha.'AmH5971and toldוַיֹּ֖אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559them.
