4And I willhardenוְחִזַּקְתִּ֣יve.chi.zak.TiH2388Pharaoh’sפַּרְעֹה֮par.'OhH6547heartלֵב־lev-H3820, andhe will chaseוְרָדַ֣ףve.ra.DafH7291afterאַחֲרֵיהֶם֒'a.cha.rei.HemH310them; and I will be honoredוְאִכָּבְדָ֤הve.'i.ka.ve.DahH3513through Pharaohבְּפַרְעֹה֙be.far.'OhH6547and allוּבְכָל־u.ve.Khol-H3605his armyחֵיל֔וֹchei.LoH2428, andthe EgyptiansH4714will knowוְיָדְע֥וּve.ya.de.'UH3045that I am the Lordיְהוָ֑הYah.wehH3068.”And they didוַיַּֽעֲשׂוּ־vai.ya.'a.su-H6213soכֵֽן׃KhenH3651.
5When the kingלְמֶ֣לֶךְle.Me.lekhH4428of Egyptמִצְרַ֔יִםmitz.Ra.yimH4714was toldוַיֻּגַּד֙vai.yu.GadH5046that the peopleהָעָ֑םha.'AmH5971had fledבָרַ֖חva.RachH1272,Pharaohפַּרְעֹ֤הpar.'OhH6547and his servantsוַעֲבָדָיו֙va.'a.va.DavH5650hadH2015aH2015changeH2015of heartלְבַ֨בle.VavH3824towardאֶל־'el-H413the peopleהָעָ֔םha.'AmH5971,and they saidוַיֹּֽאמרוּ֙vai.yo.m.RuH559, “Whatמַה־mah-H4100is thisH2088thatwe have doneעָשִׂ֔ינוּ'a.Si.nuH6213,that we have letH7971Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֖לYis.ra.'ElH3478goשִׁלַּ֥חְנוּshi.Lach.nuH7971from servingמֵעָבְדֵֽנוּ׃me.'a.ve.De.nuH5647us?”
7and he tookוַיִּקַּ֗חvai.yi.KachH3947sixשֵׁשׁ־shesh-H8337hundredמֵא֥וֹתme.'otH3967selectבָּח֔וּרba.ChurH977chariotsרֶ֙כֶב֙re.khevH7393,and allוְכֹ֖לve.KholH3605the otherchariotsרֶ֣כֶבRe.khevH7393of Egyptמִצְרָ֑יִםmitz.Ra.yimH4714with officersוְשָׁלִשִׁ֖םve.sha.li.ShimH7991overעַל־'al-H5921allכֻּלּֽוֹ׃ku.LoH3605of them.
8Sothe Lordיְהֹוָ֗הYah.wehH3068hardenedוַיְחַזֵּ֣קvay.cha.ZekH2388the heartלֵ֤בlevH3820of Pharaohפַּרְעֹה֙par.'OhH6547,kingמֶ֣לֶךְMe.lekhH4428of Egyptמִצְרַ֔יִםmitz.Ra.yimH4714,and he chasedוַיִּרְדֹּ֕ףvai.yir.DofH7291afterאַחֲרֵ֖י'a.cha.ReiH310the sonsבְּנֵ֣יbe.NeiH1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֑לYis.ra.'ElH3478as the sonsוּבְנֵ֣יu.ve.NeiH1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478were goingH3318outH3318boldlyבְּיָ֥ד רָמָֽה׃be.Yad ra.MahH7311H3027.
9Thenthe EgyptiansH4714chasedוַיִּרְדְּפ֨וּvai.yir.de.FuH7291afterאַחֲרֵיהֶ֗ם'a.cha.rei.HemH310them withallכָּל־kol-H3605the horsesסוּס֙susH5483andchariotsרֶ֣כֶבRe.khevH7393of Pharaohפַּרְעֹ֔הpar.'OhH6547,his horsemenוּפָרָשָׁ֖יוu.fa.ra.ShavH6571and his armyוְחֵיל֑וֹve.chei.LoH2428,and they overtookוַיַּשִּׂ֤יגוּvai.ya.Si.guH5381them campingחֹנִ֣יםcho.NimH2583by the seaהַיָּ֔םhai.YamH3220,besideH5921Pi-hahirothH6367,in frontלִפְנֵ֖יlif.NeiH6440of Baal-zephonH1189.
10As Pharaohוּפַרְעֹ֖הu.far.'OhH6547approachedהִקְרִ֑יבhik.RivH7126,the sonsבְנֵֽי־ve.nei-H1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֨לYis.ra.'ElH3478lookedוַיִּשְׂאוּ֩ עֵינֵיהֶ֜םvai.yis.'U 'ei.nei.HemH5375H5869,and beholdוְהִנֵּ֥הve.hi.NehH2009,the EgyptiansH4714were comingנֹסֵ֣עַno.Se.a'H5265afterאַחֲרֵיהֶ֗ם'a.cha.rei.HemH310them, and they becameH3372veryמְאֹ֔דme.'OdH3966frightenedH3372;so the sonsבְנֵֽי־ve.nei-H1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֖לYis.ra.'ElH3478criedH6817outH6817to the Lordיְהוָֽה׃Yah.wehH3068.
11Thenthey saidוַיֹּאמְרוּ֮vai.yo.me.RuH559to Mosesמֹשֶׁה֒mo.ShehH4872, “Is it becauseהַֽמִבְּלִ֤יha.mi.be.LiH4480H1097thereH369wereH369noH369gravesקְבָרִים֙ke.va.RimH6913in Egyptבְּמִצְרַ֔יִםbe.mitz.Ra.yimH4714that you have takenלְקַחְתָּ֖נוּle.kach.Ta.nuH3947us away to dieלָמ֣וּתla.MutH4191in the wildernessבַּמִּדְבָּ֑רba.mid.BarH4057?Whyמַה־mah-H4100have you dealtעָשִׂ֣יתָ'a.Si.taH6213with us in thisH2088wayH2088,bringingH3318us outH3318of Egyptמִמִּצְרָֽיִם׃mi.mitz.Ra.yimH4714?
12Is thisזֶ֣הzehH2088not the wordהַדָּבָ֗רha.da.VarH1697that we spokeדִּבַּ֨רְנוּdi.Bar.nuH1696to you in Egyptבְמִצְרַ֙יִם֙ve.mitz.Ra.yimH4714,sayingלֵאמֹ֔רle.MorH559, ‘Leaveחֲדַ֥לcha.DalH2308us aloneH4480so that we may serveוְנַֽעַבְדָ֣הve.na.'av.DahH5647the EgyptiansH4714’?For it would have been betterט֥וֹבTovH2896for us to serveעֲבֹ֣ד'a.VodH5647the EgyptiansH4714thanH4480to dieמִמֻּתֵ֖נוּmi.mu.Te.nuH4191in the wildernessבַּמִּדְבָּֽר׃ba.mid.BarH4057!”
The Sea Is Divided
13But Mosesמֹשֶׁ֣הmo.ShehH4872saidוַיֹּ֨אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to the peopleהָעָם֮ha.'AmH5971, “Do not fearתִּירָאוּ֒ti.ra.'UH3372!Standהִֽתְיַצְב֗וּhit.yatz.VuH3320by and seeוּרְאוּ֙u.re.'UH7200the salvationיְשׁוּעַ֣תye.shu.'AtH3444of the Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068,whichאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834He will performיַעֲשֶׂ֥הya.'a.SehH6213for you todayהַיּ֑וֹםhai.YomH3117;for the EgyptiansH4714whomאֲשֶׁ֨ר'a.SherH834you have seenרְאִיתֶ֤םre.'i.TemH7200todayהַיּ֔וֹםhai.YomH3117,you will neverלֹ֥א ע֖וֹדlo' odH3808H5750seeלִרְאֹתָ֥םlir.'o.TamH7200them againתֹסִ֛יפוּto.Si.fuH3254,everעַד־ עוֹלָֽם׃'ad- o.LamH5704H5769.
16As for you, liftH7311upH7311your staffמַטְּךָ֗ma.te.KhaH4294and reachH5186outH5186with your handיָדְךָ֛ya.de.KhaH3027overעַל־'al-H5921the seaהַיָּ֖םhai.YamH3220and divideוּבְקָעֵ֑הוּu.ve.ka.'E.huH1234it, and the sonsבְנֵֽי־ve.nei-H1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֛לYis.ra.'ElH3478shallgoוְיָבֹ֧אוּve.ya.Vo.'uH935throughH935the midstבְּת֥וֹךְbe.TokhH8432of the seaהַיָּ֖םhai.YamH3220on dryבַּיַּבָּשָֽׁה׃bai.ya.ba.ShahH3004landH3004.
17And as for Me, beholdH2009, I willhardenמְחַזֵּק֙me.cha.ZekH2388the heartsלֵ֣בlevH3820of the EgyptiansH4714so that they will goוְיָבֹ֖אוּve.ya.Vo.'uH935inH935afterאַחֲרֵיהֶ֑ם'a.cha.rei.HemH310them; and I will be honoredוְאִכָּבְדָ֤הve.'i.ka.ve.DahH3513through Pharaohבְּפַרְעֹה֙be.far.'OhH6547and allוּבְכָל־u.ve.Khol-H3605his armyחֵיל֔וֹchei.LoH2428,through his chariotsבְּרִכְבּ֖וֹbe.rikh.BoH7393and his horsemenוּבְפָרָשָֽׁיו׃u.ve.fa.ra.ShavH6571.
19Thenthe angelמַלְאַ֣ךְmal.'AkhH4397of Godהָאֱלֹהִ֗יםha.'E.lo.HimH430,who had been goingהַהֹלֵךְ֙ha.ho.leKhH1980beforeלִפְנֵי֙lif.NeiH6440the campמַחֲנֵ֣הma.cha.NehH4264of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478,movedוַיִּסַּ֞עvai.yi.Sa'H5265and wentוַיֵּ֖לֶךְvai.Ye.lekhH1980behindמֵאַחֲרֵיהֶ֑םme.'a.cha.rei.HemH4480H310them; and the pillarעַמּ֤וּד'a.MudH5982of cloudהֶֽעָנָן֙he.'a.NanH6051movedוַיִּסַּ֞עvai.yi.Sa'H5265from beforeמִפְּנֵיהֶ֔םmi.pe.nei.HemH4480H6440them and stoodוַיַּֽעֲמֹ֖דvai.ya.'a.ModH5975behindמֵאַחֲרֵיהֶֽם׃me.'a.cha.rei.HemH4480H310them.
20So it cameוַיָּבֹ֞אvai.ya.Vo'H935betweenH996the campמַחֲנֵ֣הma.cha.NehH4264of Egyptמִצְרַ֗יִםmitz.Ra.yimH4714and the campמַחֲנֵ֣הma.cha.NehH4264of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478;and there was the cloudהֶֽעָנָן֙he.'a.NanH6051along with the darknessוְהַחֹ֔שֶׁךְve.ha.Cho.shekhH2822,yet it gaveH215lightH215at nightהַלָּ֑יְלָהha.La.ye.lahH3915.Therefore the oneזֶ֛הzehH2088did not approachקָרַ֥בka.RavH7126the otherזֶ֖הzehH2088allכָּל־kol-H3605nightהַלָּֽיְלָה׃ha.La.ye.lahH3915.
21Then Mosesמֹשֶׁ֣הmo.ShehH4872reachedH5186outH5186with his handיָדוֹ֮ya.DoH3027overעַל־'al-H5921the seaהַיָּם֒hai.YamH3220;and the Lordיְהוָ֣ה׀Yah.wehH3068sweptוַיּ֣וֹלֶךְvai.Yo.lekhH1980the seaהַ֠יָּםHai.yomH3220backby a strongעַזָּה֙'a.ZahH5794eastקָדִ֤יםka.DimH6921windבְּר֨וּחַbe.Ru.achH7307allכָּל־kol-H3605nightהַלַּ֔יְלָהha.Lay.lahH3915,and turnedוַיָּ֥שֶׂםvai.Ya.semH7760the seaהַיָּ֖םhai.YamH3220intodryלֶחָרָבָ֑הle.cha.ra.VahH2724landH2724, andthe watersהַמָּֽיִם׃ha.Ma.yimH4325were dividedוַיִּבָּקְע֖וּvai.yi.ba.ke.'UH1234.
22Sothe sonsבְנֵֽי־ve.nei-H1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֛לYis.ra.'ElH3478wentH935throughH935the midstבְּת֥וֹךְbe.TokhH8432of the seaהַיָּ֖םhai.YamH3220on the dryבַּיַּבָּשָׁ֑הbai.ya.ba.ShahH3004landH3004, andthe watersוְהַמַּ֤יִםve.ha.Ma.yimH4325were likea wallחֹמָ֔הcho.MahH2346to them on their rightמִֽימִינָ֖םmi.mi.NamH3225and on their leftוּמִשְּׂמֹאלָֽם׃u.mi.se.mo.LamH8040.
23Thenthe EgyptiansH4714tookH7291upH7291theH7291pursuitH7291,and allכֹּ֚לkolH3605Pharaoh’sפַּרְעֹ֔הpar.'OhH6547horsesס֣וּסsusH5483,his chariotsרִכְבּ֖וֹrikh.BoH7393,and his horsemenוּפָרָשָׁ֑יוu.fa.ra.ShavH6571wentH935inH935afterאַחֲרֵיהֶ֔ם'a.cha.rei.HemH310them into the midstתּ֖וֹךְTokhH8432of the seaהַיָּֽם׃hai.YamH3220.
24But at the morningהַבֹּ֔קֶרha.Bo.kerH1242watchבְּאַשְׁמֹ֣רֶתbe.'ash.Mo.retH821,the Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068lookedH8259downוַיַּשְׁקֵ֤ףvai.yash.KefH8259on thearmyמַחֲנֵ֣הma.cha.NehH4264of the EgyptiansH4714through the pillarבְּעַמּ֥וּדbe.'a.MudH5982of fireאֵ֖שׁ'eshH784and cloudוְעָנָ֑ןve.'a.NanH6051,and broughtH2000thearmyמַחֲנֵ֥הma.cha.NehH4264of the EgyptiansH4714intoH2000confusionH2000.
25HecausedH5493their chariotמַרְכְּבֹתָ֔יוmar.ke.vo.TavH4818wheelsאֹפַ֣ן'o.FanH212toH5493swerveH5493,and He made them driveוַֽיְנַהֲגֵ֖הוּvay.na.ha.Ge.huH5090with difficultyבִּכְבֵדֻ֑תbikh.ve.DutH3517;so the Egyptiansמִצְרַ֗יִםmitz.Ra.yimH4714eachsaidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “Let me fleeאָנ֙וּסָה֙'a.Nu.sahH5127from Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478,for the Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068is fightingנִלְחָ֥םnil.ChamH3898for them against the Egyptiansבְּמִצְרָֽיִם פbe.mitz.Ra.yimH4714.”
26Then the Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068saidוַיֹּ֤אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to Mosesמֹשֶׁ֔הmo.ShehH4872, “ReachH5186outH5186with your handיָדְךָ֖ya.de.KhaH3027overH5921the seaהַיָּ֑םhai.YamH3220so that the watersהַמַּ֙יִם֙ha.Ma.yimH4325may comeH7725backH7725overH5921the Egyptiansמִצְרַ֔יִםmitz.Ra.yimH4714,overH5921their chariotsרִכְבּ֖וֹrikh.BoH7393and their horsemenפָּרָשָֽׁיו׃pa.ra.ShavH6571.”
27So Mosesמֹשֶׁ֨הmo.ShehH4872reachedH5186outH5186with his handיָד֜וֹya.DoH3027overעַל־'al-H5921the seaהַיָּ֗םhai.YamH3220, andthe seaהַיָּ֜םhai.YamH3220returnedוַיָּ֨שָׁבvai.Ya.shovH7725to its normalH386stateH386at daybreakבֹּ֙קֶר֙bo.kerH1242,while the Egyptiansוּמִצְרַ֖יִםu.mitz.Ra.yimH4714were fleeingנָסִ֣יםna.SimH5127rightH7122intoH7122it; then the Lordיְהוָ֛הYah.wehH3068overthrewוַיְנַעֵ֧רvay.na.'ErH5287the Egyptiansמִצְרַ֖יִםmitz.Ra.yimH4714in the midstבְּת֥וֹךְbe.TokhH8432of the seaהַיָּֽם׃hai.YamH3220.
28The watersהַמַּ֗יִםha.Ma.yimH4325returnedוַיָּשֻׁ֣בוּvai.ya.Shu.vuH7725and coveredוַיְכַסּ֤וּvay.kha.SuH3680the chariotsהָרֶ֙כֶב֙ha.Re.khevH7393and the horsemenהַפָּ֣רָשִׁ֔יםha.Pa.ra.ShimH6571,Pharaoh’sפַּרְעֹ֔הpar.'OhH6547entireלְכֹל֙le.KholH3605armyחֵ֣ילcheilH2428that had goneהַבָּאִ֥יםha.ba.'ImH935into the seaבַּיָּ֑םbai.YamH3220afterאַחֲרֵיהֶ֖ם'a.cha.rei.HemH310them;not evenעַד־'ad-H5704oneאֶחָֽד׃'e.ChadH259of them remainedנִשְׁאַ֥רnish.'ArH7604.
29But the sonsוּבְנֵ֧יu.ve.NeiH1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֛לYis.ra.'ElH3478walkedהָלְכ֥וּha.le.KhuH1980ondryבַיַּבָּשָׁ֖הvai.ya.ba.ShahH3004landH3004through the midstבְּת֣וֹךְbe.TokhH8432of the seaהַיָּ֑םhai.YamH3220,and the watersוְהַמַּ֤יִםve.ha.Ma.yimH4325were likea wallחֹמָ֔הcho.MahH2346to them on their rightמִֽימִינָ֖םmi.mi.NamH3225and on their leftוּמִשְּׂמֹאלָֽםu.mi.se.mo.LamH8040.
30So the Lordיְהוָ֜הYah.wehH3068savedוַיּ֨וֹשַׁעvai.Yo.o.sha'H3467Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֖לYis.ra.'ElH3478that dayבַּיּ֥וֹםbai.YomH3117from the handמִיַּ֣דmi.YadH3027of the Egyptiansמִצְרָ֑יִםmitz.Ra.yimH4714,and Israelיִשְׂרָאֵל֙Yis.ra.'ElH3478sawוַיַּ֤רְאvai.Yar'H7200the Egyptiansמִצְרַ֔יִםmitz.Ra.yimH4714deadמֵ֖תmetH4191on the seashoreשְׂפַ֥ת הַיָּֽם׃se.Fat hai.YamH3220H8193.
