1And afterwardוְאַחַ֗רve.'a.CharH310Mosesמֹשֶׁ֣הmo.ShehH4872and Aaronוְאַהֲרֹ֔ןve.'a.ha.RonH175cameבָּ֚אוּBa.'uH935and saidוַיֹּאמְר֖וּvai.yo.me.RuH559to Pharaohפַּרְעֹ֑הpar.'OhH6547, “ThisH3541isH3541whatH3541the Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068,the Godאֱלֹהֵ֣י'e.lo.HeiH430of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478saysאָמַ֤ר'a.MarH559: ‘LetH7971My peopleעַמִּ֔י'a.MiH5971goשַׁלַּח֙sha.LachH7971so that they may celebrateוְיָחֹ֥גּוּve.ya.Cho.guH2287aH2287feastH2287to Me in the wildernessבַּמִּדְבָּֽר׃ba.mid.BarH4057.’”

2But Pharaohפַּרְעֹ֔הpar.'OhH6547saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “Whoמִ֤יmiH4310is the Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068that I should obeyאֶשְׁמַ֣ע'esh.Ma'H8085His voiceבְּקֹל֔וֹbe.ko.LoH6963to letH7971Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֑לYis.ra.'ElH3478goלְשַׁלַּ֖חle.sha.LachH7971?I do not knowיָדַ֙עְתִּי֙ya.Da'.tiH3045the Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068,and besidesוְגַ֥םve.GamH1571,I will not letH7971Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֖לYis.ra.'ElH3478goאֲשַׁלֵּֽחַ׃'a.sha.Le.achH7971.”

3Then they saidוַיֹּ֣אמְר֔וּvai.Yo.me.RuH559, “The Godאֱלֹהֵ֥י'e.lo.HeiH430of the Hebrewsהָעִבְרִ֖יםha.'iv.RimH5680has metנִקְרָ֣אnik.Ra'H7122with us. Pleaseנָּ֡אna'H4994,let us goנֵ֣לֲכָהNe.la.khahH1980a threeשְׁלֹ֨שֶׁתshe.Lo.shetH7969days’יָמִ֜יםya.MimH3117journeyדֶּרֶךְ֩de.reKhH1870into the wildernessבַּמִּדְבָּ֗רba.mid.BarH4057so that we may sacrificeוְנִזְבְּחָה֙ve.niz.be.ChahH2076to the Lordלַֽיהוָ֣הla.Yah.wehH3068our Godאֱלֹהֵ֔ינוּ'e.lo.Hei.nuH430,otherwiseפֶּ֨ן־Pen-H6435He will strikeיִפְגָּעֵ֔נוּyif.ga.'E.nuH6293us with plagueבַּדֶּ֖בֶרba.De.verH1698orא֥וֹ'oH176with the swordבֶחָֽרֶב׃ve.Cha.revH2719.”

4But the kingמֶ֣לֶךְMe.lekhH4428of Egyptמִצְרַ֔יִםmitz.Ra.yimH4714saidוַיֹּ֤אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to them, “Mosesמֹשֶׁ֣הmo.ShehH4872and Aaronוְאַהֲרֹ֔ןve.'a.ha.RonH175,whyלָ֚מָּהLa.mahH4100do you letH6544the peopleהָעָ֖םha.'AmH5971neglectH6544theirworkמִמַּֽעֲשָׂ֑יוmi.ma.'a.SavH4639?Getלְכ֖וּle.KhuH1980back to yourlaborsלְסִבְלֹתֵיכֶֽם׃le.siv.lo.tei.KhemH5450!”

5Again Pharaohפַּרְעֹ֔הpar.'OhH6547saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “Lookהֵן־hen-H2005,the peopleעַ֣ם'amH5971of the landהָאָ֑רֶץha.'A.retzH776are nowעַתָּ֖ה'a.TahH6258manyרַבִּ֥יםra.BimH7227,and you would have them ceaseוְהִשְׁבַּתֶּ֥םve.hish.ba.TemH7673from their laborsמִסִּבְלֹתָֽם׃mi.siv.lo.TamH5450!”

6So the sameהַה֑וּאha.Hu'H1931dayבַּיּ֣וֹםbai.YomH3117Pharaohפַּרְעֹ֖הpar.'OhH6547commandedוַיְצַ֥וvay.TzavH6680the taskmastersהַנֹּגְשִׂ֣יםha.no.ge.SimH5065over the peopleבָּעָ֔םba.'AmH5971and theirforemenשֹׁטְרָ֖יוsho.te.RavH7860,sayingלֵאמֹֽר׃le.MorH559,

7“You are noלֹ֣אlo'H3808longerתֹאסִפ֞וּןto.si.FunH3254to giveלָתֵ֨תla.TetH5414the peopleלָעָ֛םla.'AmH5971strawתֶּ֧בֶןTe.venH8401to makeלִלְבֹּ֥ןlil.BonH3835bricksH3835as previouslyכִּתְמ֣וֹל שִׁלְשֹׁ֑םkit.Mol shil.ShomH8543 H8032;have them goיֵֽלְכ֔וּye.le.KhuH1980and gatherוְקֹשְׁשׁ֥וּve.ko.she.ShuH7197strawתֶּֽבֶן׃Te.venH8401for themselvesהֵ֚םhemH1992.

8But you shall imposeתָּשִׂ֣ימוּta.Si.muH7760on them the quotaמַתְכֹּ֨נֶתmat.Ko.netH4971of bricksהַלְּבֵנִ֜יםha.le.ve.NimH3843whichאֲשֶׁ֣ר'a.SherH834they were makingעֹשִׂ֨ים'o.SimH6213beforeתְּמ֤וֹל שִׁלְשֹׁם֙te.Mol shil.ShomH8543 H8032;you are not to reduceתִגְרְע֖וּtig.re.'UH1639anyמִמֶּ֑נּוּmi.Me.nuH4480of it. Becauseכִּֽי־ki-H3588they arelazyנִרְפִּ֣יםnir.PimH7503,for thatH3651reasonH3651they cryצֹֽעֲקִים֙tzo.'a.KimH6817outH6817, ‘Let us goנֵלְכָ֖הne.le.KhahH1980and sacrificeנִזְבְּחָ֥הniz.be.ChahH2076to our Godלֵאלֹהֵֽינוּ׃le.lo.Hei.nuH430.’

9Let the laborהָעֲבֹדָ֛הha.'a.vo.DahH5656beH3513heavierתִּכְבַּ֧דtikh.BadH3513on the menH376,and have them workוְיַעֲשׂוּ־ve.ya.'a.su-H6213at it so that they will payH8159noוְאַל־ve.'al-H408attentionH8159to falseשָֽׁקֶר׃Sha.kerH8267wordsבְּדִבְרֵי־be.div.rei-H1697.”

10Sothe taskmastersנֹגְשֵׂ֤יno.ge.SeiH5065of the peopleהָעָם֙ha.'AmH5971and their foremenוְשֹׁ֣טְרָ֔יוve.Sho.te.RavH7860wentH3318outH3318and spokeוַיֹּאמְר֥וּvai.yo.me.RuH559to the peopleהָעָ֖םha.'AmH5971,sayingלֵאמֹ֑רle.MorH559, “ThisH3541isH3541whatH3541Pharaohפַּרְעֹ֔הpar.'OhH6547saysאָמַ֣ר'a.MarH559: ‘I am not going to giveנֹתֵ֥ןno.TenH5414you anystrawתֶּֽבֶן׃Te.venH8401.

11You goלְכ֨וּle.KhuH1980,getקְח֤וּke.ChuH3947strawתֶּ֔בֶןTe.venH8401for yourselves whereverמֵאֲשֶׁ֖רme.'a.SherH4480 H834you can findתִּמְצָ֑אוּtim.Tza.'uH4672it;but noneאֵ֥ין'einH369of your laborמֵעֲבֹדַתְכֶ֖םme.'a.vo.dat.KhemH5656will be reducedנִגְרָ֛עnig.Ra'H1639.’”

12So the peopleהָעָ֖םha.'AmH5971scatteredוַיָּ֥פֶץvai.Ya.fetzH6327through allבְּכָל־be.kholH3605the landאֶ֣רֶץ'E.retzH776of Egyptמִצְרָ֑יִםmitz.Ra.yimH4714to gatherלְקֹשֵׁ֥שׁle.ko.SheshH7197stubbleקַ֖שׁkashH7179for strawלַתֶּֽבֶן׃la.Te.venH8401.

13And the taskmastersוְהַנֹּגְשִׂ֖יםve.ha.no.ge.SimH5065pressedאָצִ֣ים'a.TzimH213them, sayingלֵאמֹ֑רle.MorH559, “Completeכַּלּ֤וּka.LuH3615yourworkמַעֲשֵׂיכֶם֙ma.'a.sei.KhemH4639quotaH4639, yourdailyי֣וֹםYomH3117amountדְּבַר־ בְּיוֹמ֔וֹde.var- be.yo.MoH1697 H3117,justH3512asH3512whenyou hadבִּהְי֥וֹתbih.YotH1961strawהַתֶּֽבֶן׃ha.Te.venH8401.”

14Moreover,the foremenשֹֽׁטְרֵי֙sho.te.ReiH7860of the sonsבְּנֵ֣יbe.NeiH1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478,whomאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834Pharaoh’sפַרְעֹ֖הfar.'OhH6547taskmastersנֹגְשֵׂ֥יno.ge.SeiH5065had setשָׂ֣מוּSa.muH7760overעֲלֵהֶ֔ם'a.le.HemH5921them,were beatenוַיֻּכּ֗וּvai.yu.KuH5221and askedלֵאמֹ֑רle.MorH559, “Whyמַדּ֡וּעַma.Du.a'H4069have you not completedכִלִּיתֶ֨םkhi.li.TemH3615your requiredH2706taskH2706of makingH3835bricksלִלְבֹּן֙lil.BonH3835eitherגַּם־gam-H1571yesterdayכִּתְמ֣וֹלkit.MolH8543orגַּם־gam-H1571todayהַיּֽוֹם׃hai.YomH3117,as beforeשִׁלְשֹׁ֔ם תְּמ֖וֹלshil.Shom te.MolH8543 H8032?”

15Then the foremenשֹֽׁטְרֵי֙sho.te.ReiH7860of the sonsבְּנֵ֣יbe.NeiH1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478cameוַיָּבֹ֗אוּvai.ya.Vo.'uH935and criedH6817outH6817to Pharaohפַּרְעֹ֖הpar.'OhH6547,sayingלֵאמֹ֑רle.MorH559, “Whyלָ֧מָּהLa.mahH4100do you dealתַעֲשֶׂ֦הta.'a.SehH6213thisH3541wayH3541with your servantsלַעֲבָדֶֽיךָ׃la.'a.va.Dei.khaH5650?

16ThereH369isH369noH369strawתֶּ֗בֶןTe.venH8401givenנִתָּן֙ni.TanH5414to your servantsלַעֲבָדֶ֔יךָla.'a.va.Dei.khaH5650,yet they keep sayingאֹמְרִ֥ים'o.me.RimH559to us, ‘Makeעֲשׂ֑וּ'a.SuH6213bricksוּלְבֵנִ֛יםu.le.ve.NimH3843!’And beholdוְהִנֵּ֧הve.hi.NehH2009,your servantsעֲבָדֶ֛יךָ'a.va.Dei.khaH5650are being beatenמֻכִּ֖יםmu.KimH5221;but it is the faultוְחָטָ֥אתve.cha.TatH2398of your ownpeopleעַמֶּֽךָ׃'a.Me.khaH5971.”

17But he saidוַיֹּ֛אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “You arelazyנִרְפִּ֥יםnir.PimH7503, verylazyנִרְפִּ֑יםnir.PimH7503;forH5921thatH5921 H3651reasonH5921 H3651you sayאֹֽמְרִ֔ים'o.me.RimH559, ‘Let us goנֵלְכָ֖הne.le.KhahH1980andsacrificeנִזְבְּחָ֥הniz.be.ChahH2076to the Lordלַֽיהוָֽה׃la.Yah.wehH3068.’

18So goלְכ֣וּle.KhuH1980nowוְעַתָּה֙ve.'a.TahH6258andworkעִבְד֔וּ'iv.DuH5647;for you will be givenיִנָּתֵ֣ןyi.na.TenH5414noלֹא־lo'-H3808strawוְתֶ֖בֶןve.Te.venH8401,but you must deliverתִּתֵּֽנּוּ׃ti.Te.nuH5414the quotaוְתֹ֥כֶןve.To.khenH8506of bricksלְבֵנִ֖יםle.ve.NimH3843.”

19The foremenשֹֽׁטְרֵ֧יsho.te.ReiH7860of the sonsבְנֵֽי־ve.nei-H1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֛לYis.ra.'ElH3478sawוַיִּרְא֞וּvai.yir.'UH7200that they were in troubleבְּרָ֣עbe.Ra'H7451,since they were toldלֵאמֹ֑רle.MorH559, “You must not reduceתִגְרְע֥וּtig.re.'UH1639your dailyי֥וֹםYomH3117amountדְּבַר־ בְּיוֹמֽוֹ׃de.var- be.yo.MoH1697 H3117of bricksמִלִּבְנֵיכֶ֖םmi.liv.nei.KhemH3843.”

20When they leftבְּצֵאתָ֖םbe.tze.TamH3318Pharaoh’sפַּרְעֹֽה׃par.'OhH6547presenceמֵאֵ֥תme.'EtH4480 H854,they metוַֽיִּפְגְּעוּ֙vai.yif.ge.'UH6293Mosesמֹשֶׁ֣הmo.ShehH4872and Aaronאַהֲרֹ֔ן'a.ha.RonH175as they werewaitingנִצָּבִ֖יםni.tza.VimH5324for them.

21Andthey saidוַיֹּאמְר֣וּvai.yo.me.RuH559to them, “May the Lordיְהוָ֛הYah.wehH3068lookיֵ֧רֶאYe.re'H7200upon you and judgeוְיִשְׁפֹּ֑טve.yish.PotH8199you,becauseאֲשֶׁ֧ר'a.SherH834you havemadeH887us repulsiveרֵיחֵ֗נוּrei.Che.nuH887 H7381in Pharaoh’sפַרְעֹה֙far.'OhH6547sightבְּעֵינֵ֤יbe.'ei.NeiH5869and in the sightוּבְעֵינֵ֣יu.ve.'ei.NeiH5869of his servantsעֲבָדָ֔יו'a.va.DavH5650,to putלָֽתֶת־la.tet-H5414a swordחֶ֥רֶבChe.revH2719in their handבְּיָדָ֖םbe.ya.DamH3027to killלְהָרְגֵֽנוּ׃le.ha.re.Ge.nuH2026us!”

22Then Mosesמֹשֶׁ֛הmo.ShehH4872returnedוַיָּ֧שָׁבvai.Ya.shovH7725to the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068and saidוַיֹּאמַ֑רvai.yo.MarH559, “Lordאֲדֹנָ֗י'a.do.NaiH136,whyלָמָ֤הla.MahH4100have You broughtH7489harmהֲרֵעֹ֙תָה֙ha.re.'O.tahH7489to thisהַזֶּ֔הha.ZehH2088peopleלָעָ֣םla.'AmH5971?Whyלָ֥מָּהLa.mahH4100did You everזֶּ֖הzehH2088sendשְׁלַחְתָּֽנִי׃she.lach.Ta.niH7971me?
