Isaiah 59:7-21
71Their feetH7272 runH7323 to evilH7451, And they hastenH4116 to shedH8210 innocentH5355 bloodH1818; 2Their thoughtsH4284 are thoughtsH4284 of iniquityH205, DevastationH7701 and destructionH7667 are in their highwaysH4546.8They do not knowH3045 the 3wayH1870 of peaceH7965, And thereH369 is 4noH369 justiceH4941 in their tracksH4570; They have madeH6140 their pathsH5410 crookedH6140, 5WhoeverH3605 treadsH1869 on 6them does not knowH3045 peaceH7965.
9ThereforeH5921H3651 7justiceH4941 is farH7368 from us, And righteousnessH6666 does not overtakeH5381 us; We 8hopeH6960 for lightH216, but beholdH2009, darknessH2822, For brightnessH5054, but we walkH1980 in gloomH653.10We 9gropeH1659 along the wallH7023 like blindH5787 menH5787, We gropeH1659 like those who haveH369 noH369 eyesH5869; We 10stumbleH3782 at middayH6672 as in the twilightH5399, Among those whoH820 are vigorousH820 we are 11like deadH4191 men.11AllH3605 of us growlH1993 like bearsH1677, And 12moanH1897 sadlyH1897 like dovesH3123; We hopeH6960 for 13justiceH4941, but thereH369 is noneH369, For salvationH3444, but it is farH7368 from us.12For our 14transgressionsH6588 are multipliedH7231 beforeH5048 You, And our 15sinsH2403 16testifyH6030 against us; For our transgressionsH6588 are with us, And 17we knowH3045 our iniquitiesH5771:13TransgressingH6586 and 18denyingH3584 the LordH3068, And turningH5472 awayH5472 from our GodH430, SpeakingH1696 19oppressionH6233 and revoltH5627, ConceivingH2029 in and 20utteringH1897 from the heartH3820 lyingH8267 wordsH1697.1421JusticeH4941 is turnedH5472 backH268, And 22righteousnessH6666 standsH5975 farH7350 awayH4480; For truthH571 has stumbledH3782 in the streetH7339, And uprightnessH5228 cannotH3201H3808 enterH935.15Yes, truthH571 is lackingH5737; And he who turnsH5493 asideH5493 from evilH7451 23makesH7997 himself a preyH7997. Now the LordH3068 sawH7200, And it was 24displeasingH7489 in His sightH5869 25that thereH369 was noH369 justiceH4941.16And He sawH7200 that thereH369 was 26noH369 manH376, And was astonishedH8074 that thereH369 was noH369 oneH369 to intercedeH6293; Then His 27own armH2220 broughtH3467 salvationH3467 to Him, And His righteousnessH6666 upheldH5564 Him.17He putH3847 on 28righteousnessH6666 like a breastplateH8302, And a 29helmetH3553 of salvationH3444 on His headH7218; And He putH3847 on 30garmentsH899 of vengeanceH5359 for clothingH8516 And wrappedH5844 Himself with 31zealH7068 as a mantleH4598.1832AccordingH5921 to their 33deedsH1578, 34soH5921 He will repayH7999, WrathH2534 to His adversariesH6862, recompenseH1576 to His enemiesH340; To the coastlandsH339 He will 35makeH7999 recompenseH1576.19So they will fearH3372 the nameH8034 of the LordH3068 from the 36westH4628 And His gloryH3519 from the 37risingH4217 of the sunH8121, For He will 38comeH935 like a 39rushingH6862 streamH5104 Which the windH7307 of the LordH3068 drivesH5127.20“A 40RedeemerH1350 will comeH935 to ZionH6726, And to those who 41turnH7725 from transgressionH6588 in JacobH3290,” declaresH5002 the LordH3068.
21“As for Me, thisH2088 is My 42covenantH1285 with them,” saysH559 the LordH3068: “My 43SpiritH7307 whichH834 is upon you, and My 44wordsH1697 whichH834 I have putH7760 in your mouthH6310 shall not departH4185 from your mouthH6310, norH3808 from the mouthH6310 of your 45offspringH2233, norH3808 from the mouthH6310 of your 46offspring’sH2233 offspringH2233,” saysH559 the LordH3068, “from nowH6258 and foreverH5704H5769.”
