Hebrews 12:1-11
1ThereforeG5105, since we haveG2192 soG5118 greatG5118 a cloudG3509 of witnessesG3144 surroundingG4029 us, let us alsoG2532 1layG659 asideG659 everyG3956 encumbranceG3591 and the sinG266 which so easilyG2139 entanglesG2139 us, and let us 2runG5143 with 3enduranceG5281 the raceG73 that is setG4295 beforeG4295 us, 24fixingG872 our eyesG872 on JesusG2424, the 56authorG747 and perfecterG5051 of faithG4102, whoG3739 for the joyG5479 setG4295 beforeG4295 Him 7enduredG5278 the crossG4716, 8despisingG2706 the shameG152, and has 9satG2523 downG2523 at the rightG1188 handG1188 of the throneG2362 of GodG2316.
3For 10considerG357 Him who has enduredG5278 suchG5108 hostilityG485 by sinnersG268 againstG1519 HimselfG1438, soG2443 that you will not growG2577 wearyG2577 1112and loseG1590 heartG5590. 413You have not yetG3768 resistedG478 1415to the pointG3360 of shedding bloodG129 in your strivingG464 againstG4314 sinG266; 5and you have forgottenG1585 the exhortationG3874 whichG3748 is addressedG1256 to you as sonsG5207, “16My sonG5207, do not regardG3643 lightlyG3643 the disciplineG3809 of the LordG2962, NorG3366 17faintG1590 when you are reprovedG1651 by Him;618For those 19whomG3739 the LordG2962 lovesG25 He disciplinesG3811, And He scourgesG3146 everyG3956 sonG5207 whomG3739 He receivesG3858.” 7It is for disciplineG3809 that you endureG5278; 20GodG2316 dealsG4374 with you as with sonsG5207; for whatG5101 sonG5207 is there whomG3739 his fatherG3962 does not disciplineG3811? 8But ifG1487 you are withoutG5565 disciplineG3809, 21of whichG3739 allG3956 have becomeG1096 partakersG3353, thenG686 you are illegitimateG3541 childrenG3541 and not sonsG5207. 9FurthermoreG1534, we hadG2192 22earthlyG4561 fathersG3962 to disciplineG3810 us, and we 23respectedG1788 them; shall we not muchG4183 ratherG3123 be subjectG5293 to 24the FatherG3962 of 25spiritsG4151, and 26liveG2198? 10For they disciplinedG3811 us for a shortG3641 timeG2250 as seemedG1380 bestG1380 to them, but He disciplines us for our goodG4851, 27soG1519 that we may shareG3335 His holinessG41. 11AllG3956 disciplineG3809 28for the momentG3918 seemsG1380 not to be joyfulG5479, but sorrowfulG3077; yetG1161 to thoseG3588 who have been trainedG1128 by it, afterwardsG5305 it yieldsG591 the 29peacefulG1516 fruitG2590 of righteousnessG1343.
