Darby Bible

1And DavidH1732 againH5750 gathered all the chosen menH970 of IsraelH3478, thirtyH7970 thousandH505. 2And DavidH1732 aroseH6965 and wentH5927 with all the peopleH5971 that were with him from Baale-Judah, to bringH5927 up from thence the arkH727 of 1GodH430 which is calledH7121 by the nameH8034, the nameH8034 of Jehovah of hostsH6635 who sitteth between the cherubimH3742. 3And they set the arkH727 of 2GodH430 upon a newH2319 cartH5699, and brought it out of the houseH1004 of AbinadabH41, which was upon the hillH1389; and UzzahH5798 and AhioH283, the sonsH1121 of AbinadabH41, drove the newH2319 cartH5699. 4And they brought it with the arkH727 of 3GodH430 out of the houseH1004 of AbinadabH41 which was upon the hillH1389; and AhioH283 wentH1980 before the arkH727. 5And DavidH1732 and all the houseH1004 of IsraelH3478 playedH7832 before Jehovah on all manner of [instruments made of] cypressH1265 woodH6086, with harpsH3658, and with lutes, and with tambours, and with sistra, and with cymbalsH6767. 6And when they cameH935 to Nachon's threshing-floor, UzzahH5798 reached after the arkH727 of 4GodH430, and tookH270 holdH270 of it; for the oxenH1241 had stumbled. 7And the angerH639 of Jehovah was kindled against UzzahH5798; and 5GodH430 smote him there for his error; and there he diedH4191 by the arkH727 of 6GodH430. 8And DavidH1732 was indignant, because Jehovah had made a breachH6556 upon UzzahH5798; and he calledH7121 that placeH4725 Perez-UzzahH6560 to this dayH3117. 9And DavidH1732 was afraidH3372 of Jehovah that dayH3117, and saidH559, HowH349 shall the arkH727 of Jehovah comeH935 to me? 10So DavidH1732 wouldH14 not bring the arkH727 of Jehovah home unto himself into the cityH5892 of DavidH1732; but DavidH1732 carried it asideH5493 into the houseH1004 of Obed-EdomH5654 the GittiteH1663. 11And the arkH727 of Jehovah remainedH3427 in the houseH1004 of Obed-EdomH5654 the GittiteH1663 threeH7969 monthsH2320; and Jehovah blessedH1288 Obed-EdomH5654 and all his householdH1004. 12And it was toldH5046 kingH4428 DavidH1732, sayingH559, Jehovah has blessedH1288 the houseH1004 of Obed-EdomH5654, and all that is his, because of the arkH727 of 7GodH430. And DavidH1732 wentH5927 and broughtH5927 up the arkH727 of 8GodH430 from the houseH1004 of Obed-EdomH5654 into the cityH5892 of DavidH1732 with joyH8057. 13And it wasH1961 so, that when they that boreH5375 the arkH727 of Jehovah had gone sixH8337 paces, he sacrificedH2076 an oxH7794 and a fatted beast. 14And DavidH1732 danced before Jehovah with all his might; and DavidH1732 was girdedH2296 with a linenH906 ephodH646. 15And DavidH1732 and all the houseH1004 of IsraelH3478 broughtH5927 up the arkH727 of Jehovah with shoutingH8643, and with the soundH6963 of the trumpetH7782. 16And as the arkH727 of Jehovah cameH935 into the cityH5892 of DavidH1732, MichalH4324 the daughterH1323 of SaulH7586 lookedH7200 through a windowH2474, and sawH7200 kingH4428 DavidH1732 leaping and dancingH3769 before Jehovah; and she despisedH959 him in her heartH3820. 17And they broughtH935 in the arkH727 of Jehovah, and set it in its placeH4725, in the midstH8432 of the tentH168 that DavidH1732 had spreadH5186 for it. And DavidH1732 offeredH5927 up burnt-offerings and peace-offerings before Jehovah. 18And when DavidH1732 had endedH3615 offeringH5927 up the burnt-offerings and the peace-offerings, he blessedH1288 the peopleH5971 in the nameH8034 of Jehovah of hostsH6635. 19And he dealt to all the peopleH5971, to the whole multitudeH1995 of IsraelH3478, both menH376 and womenH802, to every oneH259 a cakeH2471 of breadH3899, and a measure [of wine], and a raisin-cake. And all the peopleH5971 departed every oneH259 to his houseH1004. 20And DavidH1732 returnedH7725 to blessH1288 his householdH1004. And MichalH4324 the daughterH1323 of SaulH7586 cameH3318 out to meet DavidH1732, and saidH559, HowH4100 honourable did the kingH4428 of IsraelH3478 make himself to-day, who uncoveredH1540 himself to-day in the eyesH5869 of the handmaids of his servantsH5650, as oneH259 of the lewd fellows shamelessly uncoversH1540 himself! 21And DavidH1732 saidH559 to MichalH4324, It was before Jehovah, who choseH977 me rather than thy fatherH1, and than all his houseH1004, to appointH6680 me rulerH5057 over the peopleH5971 of Jehovah, over IsraelH3478; and I playedH7832 before Jehovah. 22And I will make myself yetH5750 more vile than thus, and will beH1961 base in mine own sight; and of the handmaids that thou hast spoken of, of them shall I beH1961 had in honour. 23And MichalH4324 the daughterH1323 of SaulH7586 had no childH3206 to the dayH3117 of her deathH4194.
