2 Samuel 6

1And DavidH1732 againH5750 gathered together all the chosen menH970 of IsraelH3478, thirtyH7970 thousandH505. 2And DavidH1732 aroseH6965, and wentH5927 with all the peopleH5971 that were with him, from Baale-judah, to bringH5927 up from thence the arkH727 of GodH430, which is calledH7121 by the NameH8034, even the nameH8034 of Jehovah of hostsH6635 that sitteth above the cherubimH3742. 3And they set the arkH727 of GodH430 upon a newH2319 cartH5699, and brought it out of the houseH1004 of AbinadabH41 that was in the hillH1389: and UzzahH5798 and AhioH283, the sonsH1121 of AbinadabH41, drove the newH2319 cartH5699. 4And they brought it out of the houseH1004 of AbinadabH41, which was in the hillH1389, with the arkH727 of GodH430: and AhioH283 wentH1980 before the arkH727. 5And DavidH1732 and all the houseH1004 of IsraelH3478 playedH7832 before Jehovah with all manner of instruments made of fir-wood, and with harpsH3658, and with psalteries, and with timbrels, and with castanets, and with cymbalsH6767.

6And when they cameH935 to the threshing-floor of Nacon, UzzahH5798 put forthH7971 his hand to the arkH727 of GodH430, and tookH270 holdH270 of it; for the oxenH1241 stumbled. 7And the angerH639 of Jehovah was kindled against UzzahH5798; and GodH430 smote him there for his error; and there he diedH4191 by the arkH727 of GodH430. 8And DavidH1732 was displeased, because Jehovah had brokenH6555 forth upon UzzahH5798; and he calledH7121 that placeH4725 Perez-uzzahH6560, unto this dayH3117. 9And DavidH1732 was afraidH3372 of Jehovah that dayH3117; and he saidH559, HowH349 shall the arkH727 of Jehovah comeH935 unto me? 10So DavidH1732 wouldH14 not removeH5493 the arkH727 of Jehovah unto him into the cityH5892 of DavidH1732; but DavidH1732 carried it asideH5493 into the houseH1004 of Obed-edomH5654 the GittiteH1663. 11And the arkH727 of Jehovah remainedH3427 in the houseH1004 of Obed-edomH5654 the GittiteH1663 threeH7969 monthsH2320: and Jehovah blessedH1288 Obed-edomH5654, and all his houseH1004.

12And it was toldH5046 kingH4428 DavidH1732, sayingH559, Jehovah hath blessedH1288 the houseH1004 of Obed-edomH5654, and all that pertaineth unto him, because of the arkH727 of GodH430. And DavidH1732 wentH5927 and broughtH5927 up the arkH727 of GodH430 from the houseH1004 of Obed-edomH5654 into the cityH5892 of DavidH1732 with joyH8057. 13And it wasH1961 so, that, when they that bare the arkH727 of Jehovah had gone sixH8337 paces, he sacrificedH2076 an oxH7794 and a fatlingH4806. 14And DavidH1732 danced before Jehovah with all his might; and DavidH1732 was girdedH2296 with a linenH906 ephodH646. 15So DavidH1732 and all the houseH1004 of IsraelH3478 broughtH5927 up the arkH727 of Jehovah with shoutingH8643, and with the soundH6963 of the trumpetH7782.

16And it wasH1961 so, as the arkH727 of Jehovah cameH935 into the cityH5892 of DavidH1732, that MichalH4324 the daughterH1323 of SaulH7586 lookedH7200 out at the windowH2474, and sawH7200 kingH4428 DavidH1732 leaping and dancingH3769 before Jehovah; and she despisedH959 him in her heartH3820. 17And they broughtH935 in the arkH727 of Jehovah, and set it in its placeH4725, in the midstH8432 of the tentH168 that DavidH1732 had pitchedH5186 for it; and DavidH1732 offeredH5927 burnt-offerings and peace-offerings before Jehovah. 18And when DavidH1732 had made an endH3615 of offeringH5927 the burnt-offering and the peace-offerings, he blessedH1288 the peopleH5971 in the nameH8034 of Jehovah of hostsH6635. 19And he dealt among all the peopleH5971, even among the whole multitudeH1995 of IsraelH3478, both to menH376 and womenH802, to every oneH259 a cakeH2471 of breadH3899, and a portion of flesh, and a cakeH2471 of raisins. So all the peopleH5971 departed every oneH259 to his houseH1004.

20Then DavidH1732 returnedH7725 to blessH1288 his householdH1004. And MichalH4324 the daughterH1323 of SaulH7586 cameH3318 out to meet DavidH1732, and saidH559, HowH4100 gloriousH3513 was the kingH4428 of IsraelH3478 to-day, who uncoveredH1540 himself to-day in the eyesH5869 of the handmaids of his servantsH5650, as oneH259 of the vain fellows shamelessly uncovereth himself! 21And DavidH1732 saidH559 unto MichalH4324, It was before Jehovah, who choseH977 me above thy fatherH1, and above all his houseH1004, to appointH6680 me princeH5057 over the peopleH5971 of Jehovah, over IsraelH3478: therefore will I playH7832 before Jehovah. 22And I will beH1961 yetH5750 more vile than this, and will beH1961 base in mine own sight: but of the handmaids of whom thou hast spoken, of them shall I beH1961 had in honorH3513. 23And MichalH4324 the daughterH1323 of SaulH7586 had no childH3206 unto the dayH3117 of her deathH4194.
