1 Corinthians 8:8-13
8But meat does not commend us to 1GodG2316; neither if we should not eatG2068 do we come shortG5302; nor if we should eatG2068 have we an advantage. 9But seeG991 lestG3361 anywise this your rightG1849 [to eat] itself be a stumbling-block to the weakG772. 10For if any oneG5100 seeG3708 thee, who hast knowledgeG1108, sitting at table in an idol-house, shall not his conscienceG4893, he beingG1510 weakG772, beG1510 emboldened to eatG2068 the things sacrificed to the idol? 11and the weakG770 [oneG3739], the brotherG80 for whose sakeG1223 ChristG5547 diedG599, will perishG622 through thy knowledgeG1108. 12NowG1161, thusG3779 sinningG264 against the brethren, and wounding their weakG770 conscienceG4893, ye sinG264 against ChristG5547. 13Wherefore if meatG2907 be a fall-trap to my brotherG80, I will eatG2068 no flesh for ever, that I may not be a fall-trap to my brotherG80.
