John 4:7-14

When a SamaritanG1537G3588G4540 womanG1135 cameG2064 to drawG501 waterG5204, JesusG2424 saidG3004 to herG846, “GiveG1325 MeG1473 a drinkG4095.” 8(HisG846 disciplesG3101 had goneG565 intoG1519 theG3588 townG4172 toG2443 buyG59 foodG5160.)

“You areG1510 a JewG2453,” saidG3004 theG3588 womanG1135. “HowG4459 can YouG4771 ask forG154 a drinkG4095 fromG3844 meG1473, a SamaritanG4542 womanG1135?” (ForG1063 JewsG2453 do not associateG3756G4798 with SamaritansG4541.)1

JesusG2424 answeredG611G2532G2036G846, “IfG1487 you knewG1492 theG3588 giftG1431 of GodG2316 andG2532 whoG5101 isG1510 askingG3004 youG4771 for a drinkG4095, youG4771 would have askedG302G154 HimG846, andG2532 He would have givenG302G1325 youG4771 livingG2198 waterG5204.”

“SirG2962,” theG3588 womanG1135 repliedG3004, “You haveG2192 nothingG3777 to draw withG502 andG2532 theG3588 wellG5421 isG1510 deepG901. WhereG4159 thenG3767 will You getG2192 this livingG2198 waterG5204? 12AreG1510G3361 YouG4771 greater thanG3173 ourG1473 fatherG3962 JacobG2384, whoG3739 gaveG1325 usG1473 this wellG5421 andG2532 drankG4095 fromG1537 itG846 himselfG846, as did hisG846 sonsG5207 andG2532 hisG846 livestockG2353?”

JesusG2424 saidG2036 to herG846, “EveryoneG3956 whoG3588 drinksG4095 thisG3778 waterG5204 will be thirstyG1372 againG3825. 14ButG1161 whoeverG3739G302 drinksG4095 theG3588 waterG5204 IG1473 giveG1325 himG846 will never thirstG3756G3361G1372G1519G3588G165. IndeedG235, theG3588 waterG5204 I giveG1325 himG846 will becomeG1096 inG1722 himG846 a fountG4077 of waterG5204 springing upG242 toG1519 eternalG166 lifeG2222.”
